Just had my 2nd cup of dark roast coffee of the morning and was ready to burn off some unwanted calories. There is no escaping the charismatic employee at the check-in desk only a few feet from the entry doors. While the employee was explaining the membership payment options, I noticed only a handful of members working out in the modestly sized gym with an excellent selection of Cybex machines, which is a dominate brand with fitness gurus. Based on the few pieces of equipment, I would be able to make due for a one hour workout, but was shocked by the high priced $25.00 day pass. An option would be $99.00 per month if a yearly membership is secured. I guess no gym workout for me today and will have to accept 15k steps today while window shopping instead.

Each year, I've tried to purchase a size large T-shirt, but they're always sold out. This time, I called a month in advance and asked to have one set aside for me. Alex kindly agreed, put my name on it, and assured me it would be there when I arrived. However, when I went to pick it up, the manager informed me that it had been sold anyway. I'm extremely disappointed by how this was handled. The manager seemed indifferent, which only added to my frustration. Because of this experience, I no longer feel comfortable representing this gym, and I won't be giving them my business moving forward. It's unfortunate, as I have a lot of nostalgia tied to training there. I just wish the management had handled the situation more professionally.

When I moved to Key West, I first tried some classes at another gym... where I was bored, and the workouts were not high-energy or motivating. So I found Flex Key West recommended by my neighbor. Flex was everything I was looking for!! Fast paced, high music, motivating, group classes that actually deliver results! I'm stronger and more fit, and everyone in the class is so friendly and supportive. It's a safe environment and everyone cares about your fitness, fun, and no judgement! This is not a foo-foo workout, it's tough but worth it because the reward is amazing. There's several classes you can sign up for using their app, or the MINDBODY app. There's also 24 hr gym access using a fingerprint keypad when you're a member. I signed up online, for three classes, every other day and enjoyed every minute. The setting is serene in a lush but clean shaded jungle garden out back of a beautiful house with a water feature providing soothing sound energy. Victoria and Lauren were excellent teachers. I recommend both. My last class had a much smaller number of students so Lauren kindly took a little time to provide input on the poses so I can improve. I am enjoying this yoga journey filled with learning, meditation, flexibility, strength and positive vibes. Life is good with Yoga Sanctuary!

FYT offered hot yoga classes so I came and knew it would be my go to place. I get the studio unlimited membership each month and it is a great deal. I get to do all classes they offer, which includes hot Pilates, barre, HIIT classes, etc. They have classes day and night and the place is always super clean. I drive from big pine to go here almost every day. It's worth it. About once a month they throw events where it's free and welcome to the community. They usually host it at a hotel and they are very well put together and fun. If you're looking for a gym or a hot yoga studio this is the place. The Pilates classes are mat classes and they're really good (hard to get into though you have to sign up way in advance). All of the workout instructors are great and bring the energy.

The staff are friendly, and the gym itself is generally clean -- that's the only positive I can…read moregive. Unfortunately, the location feels unsafe, as it's in one of the rougher parts of town. The layout is poorly planned, with "training" or group sessions taking place right in the middle of the gym, which takes up valuable space for regular members trying to lift or use equipment. No other gym trains clients in the middle of the gym as to embarrass them. It's almost as if they are purposefully trying to shame people and put them on display. The owner, Kevin (or Kurt), does not give the impression of professionalism or fitness leadership -- often arriving dressed like he just left a pickup basketball game. During my workout, he interrupted my brother and me to push training packages, which felt like a high-pressure sales tactic and completely threw off our session. Between the outdated equipment, poor environment, and aggressive upselling, I can't recommend this location. There are much better gyms in the area.

This is a terrific little fitness trail consisting of 10 workout stations. A great way to get some…read morestrength training in between your beach route runs. The trail has a soft black spongelike feeling that makes it wonderful for doing your groundwork exercises. Another benefit to the nicely cushioned trail is that it is enjoyable to jog from station-to-station between workouts. A few of the stations are too hard for me personally, like pull-ups and parallel bars for hand-walks and dips. For these stations I change it up and do Sally squats, lunges, wall sits, planks, etc. To keep the strength going for each section. A wonderful addition, though I would like to see some more stations added. There is plenty of room to accommodate more stations for sure. I will definitely get good use from this trail.

I loved it! Yoga on the beach is taught at the Southernmost on the Beach Hotel - Thur and Sat 9-10 am (check their website). Yoga mats and blocks are provided. Drop in class was $18 and well worth it. The teacher gears the class towards the average student of all levels. I'm excited to try aqua yoga tomorrow! Put on SPF sunblock, bring sunglasses, cash, and your good intentions. Be Present.

Terrible hotel building with terrible customer service…read more Building is old and consist of few buildings combined. Need to change elevator 2 times to go to your room. Rooms are nicely decorated but not what you expect for $1000 a night. They are way over priced for the quality. Front desk staff is terrible. Don't know how to handle issues which you will have plenty. We didn't have AC 2 out of 3 nights and they didn't even feel bad about it. They said basically it is what it is and we have to deal with it. One night they moved us to another room and they were acting like they were doing us a favor. It was major problem for us. second night they moved us to our room which has broken AC And gave us boxed fan to cool off. Front desk manager is clueless and don't know how to handle issues and he has kids working for him who do not know how to handle anything. They are like teenagers. I would never ever stay there again and warn anyone not to there. Oh you will wake up 5am because of dumpster trucks getting the trash and it takes like 20 min. Another thing is their damn roosters , they start 4am and won't let you sleep. Jesus, it was 3 days of hell!
