This is the most amazing wine store I have ever been too. Self declared as having no bad wines. A miracle! This is a place where I spend at least a couple hundred bucks a month (used to), albeit mainly on common table wine. But last week I thought I would splurge for my birthday and asked for something upscale, but reliable in that they had confidence in the quality of the supply chain. I ended up buying an $80 Petite Syrah which was near vinegar. Being a regular, I felt like I had to say something, not to mention having lived outside the Rhône region in France, where I experienced real Syrahs for several a years. When I told them this was not a debate about the quality of the wine, but rather that it was simply bad, I was told that all of their wines are good because they have other customers that like them. To quote: "All of their wines are on the shelf because someone likes them", therefore no bad wines, just differing palates. How convenient. I wouldn't even think of debating subtleties in N Andover, but when something is so bad that is undrinkable at $80/bottle, only an utter moron would keep quiet. BTW, this experience was all after providing the respect of temperature acclimation and decanting. So long story short, they have decent prices for table wines, but it you are looking for something upscale, don't waste your money. And whatever you do, don't be bamboozled by their pseudo sommeliers. read more

Do yourself a favor and head to this place for a free wine tasting on Saturdays. The staff is extremely knowledgeable & enthusiastic (especially love terry) and enjoy sharing information and insight. I've learned a lot about wines just by attending these tastings and I have found some new favorites along the way. I shop here often, feeling it's the BEST stop for the finest wine along with the best prices. The staff are always knowledgeable and if you need/want assistance, they are always willing to help with a recommendation. I've attended several of the weekly tastings.. They are wonderful & informative.... especially when paired up with a food establishment or vendor. It can get a bit crowded depending, but I've never felt pushed or rushed. This is a nice place. Great selection of wine & only wine. Don't go looking for the cold beer on the back wall or the rum isle because this is just wine. Good prices. However I don't go there for the prices. You might do better out of state. I go for the selection. They have everything. You can spend under $10.00 or you can go much higher should your budget allow. Wine is set up nice, easy to browse & it's all labeled & priced clearly. This is a big store and you might feel a bit overwhelmed. Don't be afraid to ask for help. They have frequent wine tasting and a nice monthly newsletter. The walls and overall space seems a bit cold and during the wine tasting it might be difficult to find someone to help you, but those are my only negatives. From the outside, Wine ConneXtion may just look like another stripmall liquor store, but one look at the prices will tell you that's not true. Wines are hand selected by Sam Messina (owner) for both taste and value. All the wines are cheaper than your local store, and many are cheaper than driving up to the New Hampshire state liquor stores. The best part of Wine ConneXtion is the labels on each wine. Sam takes a lot of time to provide as much information on the wines as possible - not just a description of the wine itself, but hints on whether to drink or hold on to the bottle and what foods to serve it with. If you're still not sure what to buy, just talk to Sam or the rest of the staff. If I could bring Sam home with me to talk me through every bottle of wine I drank, I'd be a wine encyclopedia. read more

This is a great place. The wine is plentiful, diverse, and very well-priced. Most bottles on display are accompanied by a nice description of the wine's notes or whatever and what tastes good with that wine. Very helpful for novices like myself. I tried 4 new wines based on their recommendations/descriptions and I ended up really liking 3 out of 4. Not bad! The workers are very warm without being pushy. I only subtracted 1 star because they don't sell beer or liquor. (But there is Main Street Liquors nearby if you need other boozes.) Highly recommended! read more

Sure they may have a "good" wine selection, it may be clean, and located in a good part of town, but these are not the only things that make a good business. Great customer service and taking an initiative to help all those that walk through your doors are what make a business stand out among the rest. This was not the case for my first time experience @ wine conneXtion. The cashier (or maybe he was the owner) was extremely rude and his response to my question was condescending. I didn't step past two feet into the store and left right away. Granted, I may have been that ONE person who had ONE bad experience at a store, but again EVERYONE who steps through those doors becomes a potential client and you need to be painfully aware of that fact. I for one will never go to this store again because of my ONE bad experience. These are the kind of things that turn customers away from a business and I seriously hope that the staff at wine conneXtion get their act together. Otherwise, we are better off going the extra distance to a more professional and knowledgeable establishment to get our wines, spirits, etc. read more

Stopped in here after grabbing some lunch at Boston Chowda Co and was really impressed! There was a fantastic selection of wine, a very knowledgeable staff, and a wine tasting... probably my fave part haha. But all jokes aside, the wine tasting a was a great way to try and pick some great wines I wouldn't have other wise chosen. Okay, now here is the most important part, the prices are FANTASTIC they take pride in their prices be cheaper then NH and I'm pretty okay with that. This store was a great find on a recent excursion to run an errand in North Andover and if it was just slightly closer to where I live, I would probably forget Kappy's ever existed. Not only was the store impeccably clean and organized, but the wines I typically buy for $8-12/bottle were consistently $1-2 cheaper here than at my more local purveyors. It was a quick stop in here, so there's really not much more for me to comment on, but my excitement over discovering another place to stock up on cheap(er) wine prompted a five-star review. read more

today was my first time here. went in with my husband.. when we first walked in all we could smell was deli meat.. quickly saw there was a wine tasting gathering there.. everyone was happy,, talking, laughing. and enjoying wine.. i wont take away a star for not having other liquor.. as it is called the Wine Connextion... the prices were good.. some bottles that we are familiar with were 3-5$ cheaper than the stores we shop at in chelmsford. staff was friendly.. and clean... it was a little "industrial" as far as decoration.. or atmosphere.. but then again.. we are there to buy wine and take it home to enjoy.. so i would not say to much about the decor. looking forward to enjoying a few glasses tonight.. always tasting better when you can save a few bucks.. especially these days. read more

This store is in the back of the shopping center where CVS is located and is hard to see from the road but worth looking for. The selection of wines are varied and the prices are very good. Sam the "wine director" is great and extremely knowledgeable. When I needed to restock my wine cellar, I just asked Sam to make the selections based on my preferences. I stopped in with a great friend this past weekend to sample some Pinot Noir's during there weekly Saturday wine tastings. I learned a lot about the wines and the regions where they were grown. Of the 7 samples I tried, I ended up buying 3 of them and also picked up a bottle of Chardonnay in the store for dinner later that evening. read more

I was preparing for my first "grown-up" dinner party and realized I know nothing about good wines or food/wine pairings. I stopped into Wine Connextion because of it's reputation for being high quality while remaining inexpensive. Not only did I walk out with some seriously cheap bottles, but their staff was so helpful as well! They gave me basics on food/drink pairings and gave me great recommendations. A bonus to my whole experience is that I dropped in on a Saturday afternoon and got a free wine tasting, too! Yesterday I went to the store for the first time on a recommendation from a friend. Full disclosure, I am a professional in the wine industry but did not identify myself as such. I purchased a bottle of wine ( a wine which I had personally blended and marketed) and a high end bottle of bourbon. I had questions about the whiskey and the salesperson could not have been more helpful and knowledgeable. This is a perfect example of what customer service is all about. Wine only at this store. No beer or wine. The prices are great being about 30% less than New Hampshire State stores. I have always found the staff to be friendly and helpful. The owner is usually present. He has great knowledge of the wine business and will special order for you. The free tastings every Saturday are fun and informative. Wine Connextion and Rapid Liquors in Stoneham are the two best wine stores on theNorth Shore. Go nowhere else. read more
