Had a fantastic buying experience at wine central. I happened to be visiting a friend and herecommended the shop. It was 20 minutes before they close at 8pm, so i kind of walked in, asked if they had wine by Orin Swift, they had Abstract, which is a blend of red 15.3% ABV, bought it. However, making my way around the store, i walked passed the Portugal and Italy isle and that was it. I end up spending close to $240 but it was a great buy. Staff on duty try to help but it did not look like they knew their wines. Regardless, i am savy and i know good stuff when i see it. Looking at the reviews. And having frequented this shop for a decade plus, the neighborhood itself feels in a rush and agitated to me, but as is always the case with other humans and service, if you slow down, say hello, and treat people well, they'll generally do the same. Never had an issue with the staff here, but it's probably karma. Anyway, they have a decent selection of liquor, and wine, and the beer section keeps me coming back when I visit family. Prices seem super fair for the area, at least on the non-allocated stuff. They have some harder find bourbons, but secondary pricing. There if you want em though which is nice! read more

This is a great spot right in the center of Warren NJ. The staff is super nice and Daryl the owner is a total gem. Always eager to help and steer you to a great selection of wines and liquors when your in a pickle. I have been coming here for a few years thanks to my boyfriend who introduced me to this place and its definitely a go to spot. Wine Central is my local place to buy beer, wine and alcohol. This place is centrally located in the center of Warren in the Walgreens and Acme shopping mall. There is plenty of free parking. The prices here are very good. Every week they have discounts on name brand spirits.. There is a decent selection of IPAs, which are kept cold as a 6pk or on the shelf sold by the case. Wine Central also has a nice selection of reds and whites. champagnes including rose' wines in every price point... This is not a big store, everything is kept very neat and organized. The staff is friendly, they are always able to recommend something nice when I need a gift that's not too expensive. I find this place to be consistently busy especially on the weekends. Have been here a few times and staff usually offers to help. Have had one bad experience though. I usually stick to wine that is ~$25 or less but decided to buy a nicer bottle and spent ~$100 on a 2009 Chassagne-Montrachet for a very special celebration. The cashier had trouble ringing up the bottle because it apparently wasn't catalogued in their inventory properly -- I suppose that might've been a bad sign. I opened the bottle during a dinner and wine pairing I had planned and it turns out the bottle had gone bad. Ended up pairing the main course with Corona Lights we had sitting in the fridge instead. Was in there yesterday- rude guy at counter- asked him if he had Korean soju. Said he never heard of it, and waved his arm in a get out motion. I personally would be embarrassed to admit that, as it would say I suck at what I do. I would have googled it in front of the customer at least. Then I asked if he had rice wine, no again, and the get out arm motion again. This is an example of entitlement? Not sure, but if he is the owner shame on him, and if he works there, well he should be let go. read more

The store has an excellent selection of craft beers, and they email members of the "craft beer club" with the latest additions. I live in the next county over and used some personal time one day just so I could get to the store in time enough to pick up an item I knew would be popular. I get there and go to the shelf and I don't see it. I ask at the counter if they have more, and they tell me that it is set aside for their Saturday customers. I said "I drove 50 minutes to get here just for this!" The main cashier was unmoved by this in the least. She's actually remarkable...I'd go so far as to say she is unfriendly. It's not unusual for service workers to not be friendly, but she's downright unfriendly. I'm not sure any beer is actually worth putting up with such poor service. read more

I've been coming to this store for years and after my experience today I am not bringing business back ever again. I walked in with an empty coffee cup and asked nicely if I could use their garbage can behind the counter. The employee was ready to take the empty cup from me until the manager stepped in and told me that I could "go use the garbage can outside of dunkin". He was rude enough for other people in the store to react. Completely disrespectful and miserable service from an already overpriced liquor store. This is where I bought my wine set for one of my coworkers. I was shopping in the area and decided to stop by this place. They have a wide selection of wines and beers, and anything that has alcohol in it ;) Place was pretty organized too. Easy to find any type of wines and their country of origin. Staff was always smiling and very helpful. The place was busy when I stopped by, maybe because of the holidays, and people were stocking up for their big Christmas party!! read more

Needs to hire better employees who are friendly and understanding to their customers. Store front was fully lit when I stopped to purchase a bottle of wine for dinner at a nearby BYOB establishment. A young couple was walking out when the clerk stopped me from entering stating that they are now closed. I told her I needed to pick up just one bottle of wine but she didn't want to know it. This is not a good business practice, I ended up going to dinner and drinking seltzer instead of enjoying a good bottle of wine. Thanks for making my dinner so enjoyable. The young couple also had comments about how crude and rude the clerk was. I will make sure that I will pick up my wine some place else. read more

Been here many times...decent selection and prices. Generally good service. However, the last couple times I've been overcharged on items vs. advertised prices, received wrong order for pick-up, and less than courteous service. Also, beware this place charges 7% sales tax instead of the 6.625% that has been in effect since Jan 2018. read more

I made a special trip to the store to use a 20% off coupon I received in the mail...spent around 20 minutes gathering a large selection of items only to be told I cannot use the coupon because it's for their new location THAT ISN'T EVEN OPEN YET!! This wasn't clearly stated on the coupon. When I asked if they could do me a favor and grant the coupon now so I do not need to make a second trip I was denied in a rude and abrasive manner...no sympathy for my situation at all. Stopped in Wine Central the other day with the wife to pick up some beer and wine. It's located right in the same strip mall as the Dunkin Donuts and A&G. It's in a pretty good spot. Wine selection is pretty extensive - lots of chilled bottles to choose from, as well. I was a little disappointed with the beer selection. I was looking to get some Sam Adams Cold Snap - their new seasonal but I've been having a pretty difficult time finding it anywhere. Other than that, beer selection was OK. Prices were pretty standard - we'll continue to come back here from time to time. read more

Up to this point i really liked this store. Great variety and good prices. Yesterday i went there to get a specific beer (Bolero Snort Fruity pebbulls) they said i need to be a member. No big deal i asked the employee and he said it is free just sign up i said great. i grab my four pack and go to pay and am told sorry you cannot buy this it is for existing members. I say well if i signing up now can't you please sell it i have been coming here for years. I am told by a younger employee sorry NO try another day. I said OK i leave and come back an hour later (because now i am "an existing member") i grab the beer and now i am being told i remember you, you still can't buy this you need to be a member for 24 hours. Needless to say i will never be back there and will tell everyone to go to another store. Also i have never said anything in the past but if you are a craft beer person make sure if you do buy there check the dates!!!
