Not interested in customers. I stepped into the store today, around 11:45. I headed towards lottery terminal where I wanted to cash in 2 instant game winners. I never said a word and only made it 1/4 of the way to the counter. The proprietor stated, "I don't have any cash". This place is amazing! Family business and the folks are very nice. I go in sometimes just to say "Hello". The last time I was in, after I finished paying, the cashier says, "I'm going to walk you out." I was puzzled but said ok. Once to my car, the cashier said she observed a man watching me, and just wanted to make sure I was safe. All I can say is THANKS AND GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE! Plus they have a vast selection of wines! Liquor prices are comparable to anywhere else but if I'm ever looking for something hard to find this is where I start searching. The staff is always friendly and I like how it's pretty easy to see what they stock behind the counter. read more

I just walked in and found beer that I wanted on the shelf, its expiry date was 1 December 2020 it is now June 1, 2022, after informing them they're only reply was we don't have a rep for them anymore and they were quite happy to leave it on the shelf two years past it sell by date. Bring some coin. There are barely any value buys here for wine. Whole aisles of some categories of wine and next to none of others. Puzzling and outdated. Beer selection is just OK in my opinion. read more

I stopped here the other day ... handed the guy behind the counter a $100 Bill, we got to talking so I was not paying attention. He ripped me off! Put a $20 Bill around a bunch of $1"s. In the ever growing world of craft beer... I've got to say that this place has been a very good go place to go to. Very friendly people behind the counter... and always willing to try to help you out with you if there are some special beers that you are trying to find. Only issue? Prices. A specialty beer that was released this Jan... I picked up a 4 pack of FW for $16. I come to The Barrel.. and I was charged $23 for the same 4 pack. *shrug* I guess I can say that if you really want the beer, then you pay for it. They are good for it. They are willing to help you, and they are very knowledgeable with what is popular, and won't shy away from telling you their own opinion about it all. Zero stars, been here a handful of times. Couple workers their are pretty rude and could care less to help you. They religiously close early everyday of the week. 6 on sundays and 8-9 every other day of the week, don't care what their website says. read more

The goods: Excellent customer service, outstanding beer, wine, and liquor selection, if they don't have it, they will gladly find it for you, nice clean store, competitive prices, usually get the new stuff right when it comes out, great location (right down the street from my house, ha!) The bads: every time I get a bag of ice from here, it seams to have a hole in it. NBD! The verdict: I am a beer connoisseur, and this is my beer store. Their selection is one of the best in the area, second only to Merchant's in Dearborn! Joe and Dante's knowledge of craft beer and wine is outstanding, and they are always happy to help with suggestions. I'm sure this is a great place for so many liquors, beer... But with HUGE letters stating wine castle, I thought they would have an impressive selection of wine . They have wine and many of the typical but they were limited and couldn't find my faves. I'm comparing them to limited in canton and palace in Livonia. read more

Tons of alcoholic beverages to choose from. They are helpful and give good recommendations when you get overwhelmed by the choices. I am usually a Jim Beam guy, but on occasion look for a different drink to try. The craft beer section has some good choices, although I wish they would bring back the Lucky Buda in the green Buda shaped bottle. I did move further west, but find myself stopping in to grab something when in the area. read more
