This store is like Disneyland for adults. You name it and most likely they will have it. Everything in the store is neatly separated making finding a product so much easier. Staff is always on the floor as well to help and assist with any questions you might have. read more

It's like a candy store for adults who like spirits. You will find some of the lowest prices in the state here for liquor. Think state minimum. They have samples typically Thursday-Saturday. They are limited to 3 mainly. Don't forget your identification because they card EVERYONE when checking out and samples. All the staff is knowledgeable and can point in the right direction. They have fifths of just about anything you can think of, beer, shots near the front register, bar tools, snacks and mixers needed. I've never had a bad experience in all the times I have visited. I've done delivery, online ordering and standard in store shopping. You can find aisles on the website if you like to figure out things in advance. Ample parking. Convenient hours. They have a reward program if you are avid shopper. And classes which I still have not snagged a class seat. They are free and fill up fast. In general, I do not enjoy shopping in stores, but this place is an exception. Being a fan of craft and foreign beers, I appreciate the large selection. I always make a beeline for the beers, and I typically purchase a variety each time, at least three cases (though broken up into six-packs, etc.). I used to live in the Seattle area, and I frequented the Bellevue, Washington store, which was huge and awesome. The Novi store isn't as large, maybe 75% of the size, but it's the largest I have been to in this area, with the best selection. The cashiers and other employees have always been friendly and helpful. Pricewise, it's fair and better than average, though I wouldn't necessarily call the prices cheap. Even a very common and popular bourbon (Buffalo Trace) is now being sold at a few dollars over the state minimum which was a surprise to me. One of the best places for a wide selection of liquor on this side of town. Thousands upon thousands of different wines, champagne, and beer, both imported, domestic, and locally made. This place is enormous, with lots of lanes and registers, so the wait in line wasn't long even though it was New Year's Eve. Service was friendly. Don't get offended if you're carded. There are signs by the register that state if you're under 30, you'll be carded. I was carded, and I'm just thankful people think I look young enough to be an underage drinker. read more

The Novi Total Wine Store is part of a nationwide chain that is located across the US. This store/chain carries all things liquor to include wines, hard liquors, beers, liqueurs etc. True to its moniker, it is a Mega alcohol store that is verrrryyyy large by almost anyones standard. They carry a global diversified product lineup that is well organized within the store where aisles are dedicated to liquor type and region making it much easier to find the alcohol you are looking for. The store has what I view as a large staff available to assist you in finding the liquor you are looking for. They also have multiple free tasting stations located throughout the store allowing sampling of the the wines they are highlighting on that particular day. Nice! Up until recently I had been using some out of state internet stores (Wine.com and Bounty Hunter) that no longer can ship to our state due to a recent court ruling that that require these type of businesses to have a physical presence within our state. Total Wine will hopefully be filling in some of the gaps I am now experiencing in finding smaller low volume wines that you typically will not find in many of the wine retailers in the area. They will be joining the short list of retailers I use in this area to include Old Woodward Cellars and Plum Market where they clearly have a larger footprint of product then the two aforementioned retailers. Again a big plus for this retailer. Overall I was quite pleased with what I saw on my initial trip to this store and will definately be returning in the future. Having said that, if you are seriously into wine as I am you need to use all the tools on hand to ensure you get the best price to include tools like WineSearcher.com and Vivino.com as being an educated consumer pays dividends in the long run especially if you buy a lot of wine and/or are into fine wine. Theres no doubt I saw some good bargains at this store and others that you can do better elsewhere if you have the time to wait for it. This is definitely the place to go for all your wine, beer, spirits, liquor, general ALCOHOL needs! This is truly like a Costco-sized warehouse, but just filled to the brim with drinks and all the accoutrements that come with that (wine openers, drinking accessories, mixers, etc.)! The prices are really great and probably some of the better ones around and the selection is just out of this world. I know that I probably shouldn't be one to talk given that I don't even drink alcohol, but this place has a ton of incredible options for gifts for my friends who do drink of types of alcohol that I always saw online but never in a liquor store or anywhere else that I've wanted to grab for my friends for some time! There's also a whole AISLE of non-alcoholic drinks that are so quality! There are at least 10 different varieties of ginger beer alone, which is one of my favorites, along with a ton of mocktail mixers as well that really piqued my interest! This place was a lot of fun. I had heard it had opened in the area but had not yet been, and my boyfriend and I checked it out yesterday. He had been one time before to this location, and a few times in Texas when he lived there. I do like wine but I'm not a big beer person. Their wine selection was excellent and also huge. We are going to a friend's house on Saturday for dinner and she said she likes Cabernets, so we looked at their selection of Cabernet wines to bring as a gift. Their beer and cider selections were not as large, I think cider was only like half of an aisle, but then again the store is not called Total Beer or Total Cider, haha. I ended up getting a blueberry lemonade cider (one individual can) from Blake's, and two Virtue Cider can/bottle selections - they're based in Fennville and I was able to visit them last summer. I also got a Fenn Valley Vineyards honey wine, and we tried their ice wine last night, which was DELICIOUS and also very reasonable priced here - $9.99, I believe. Ice wine is usually very pricey. Overall this is a great place to go if you are looking for wine or especially a specialty wine, since their selection is huge. read more

Stopped in on a weekend and wow it was beyond busy! They had lot of samplings taking place, although not one of them asked if I was interested. They have lots of options to choose from; they have tons of mini bottles, mostly plastic but some glass ones. Like someone else mentioned in their review, staff is difficult to recognize. There also was hardly any staff available to assist. I tried to ask the people doing tasting samples, but they don't work for the store. Couple of items that said in stock on their website were actually not when I finally got assistance by their staff. I also wanted to point out that I placed an online order to be delivered to my home (before visiting the store) and didn't know that it would be delivered through a third party company. Long story short make sure that the person who places the order is home at the time of the delivery; it didn't mention anything about that while placing the order and it usually is anyone who is 21+ with an ID can accept the order; otherwise, they will refuse to deliver your order even though you paid the delivery fee plus tipped the driver. Manager worked out a resolution to the issue with excellent customer service on the store's end (the third party not so much) so that is much appreciated! Just want others to be aware that it is best to pick up the order yourself to avoid any hassle or issue with your order. read more

I came here to get Everclear 150 to make homemade flavored liquors. Great collection of a variety of wines, especially imported beers. They even have non-alcoholic German beer. Yes, Trader Joe's carries them, but they are likely to have more variety here. We usually order for a pickup but a few days ago dropped by searching for a red wine. If you enjoy wine and cocktails this is the place for you. I always visit Total Wine while in Florida so I was excited to hear they were coming to Michigan. They have every type of wine, liquor or beer you can think of. The ones you can't find anywhere else Total wine probably has it. They also have all of the mixers, and syrups you need for those pretty cocktails. They have a tasting bar and a room in the back where they offer wine tasting classes. This was a really fun place. We heard they were building a location here, and even stopped by before it was open to check out the progress. We finally made it back now that it opened. It was a really great experience. We came on the right day. They were having some wine tasting and some liquor tastings and later in the day a beer tasting as well. Upon entry there is someone who checks ID's and asked if we were interested in a tasting. They allotted us each three tickets to sample. There were three different stations, one with reds and whites, one with sparkling white, and one with gin, whiskey, etc...I sampled a little bit, I am more of a craft beer person than hard alcohol but I was excited to see the event. I am not sure how often they sample, I suppose if you are interested call first or go online and see if it is listed. I really enjoyed their selection of craft beer. I enjoyed even more the ability to purchase them as singletons rather committing to a six pack. Most places have you build a six pack, but I like more control of picking how many I would like to purchase. I do not typically purchase liquor, and I did not look in that section yet, so I do not have much to report on that. I also did not get a chance to really look at the wine selection, I focused on the beer this trip. But I liked that they had some cheese and snacks to go with the beverages. I am also not sure about mixers yet, but I will go back and explore more. A couple things to point out. There were many people working there. They were all very friendly and seemed to go our of their way for the customer, but it was hard to decipher the people employed by the store and the people employed by the suppliers. But they did all help us while we were there and were very pleasant and provided a nice experience. The one thing I was disappointed with it that while they had more of the craft beers as a single purchase, one product we really wanted as a single they would not sell to us, the hard coffee from PBR. It is a beer company but they would only sell it as a multipack. I would love the ability to purchase their canned cocktails individually along with the beer. I am also not sure how good the prices are compared to other places, but their large selection alone will keep me coming back. Last thing, I also wish they would carry the Yuengling Hershey's and that brand in general. I need to go to Ohio if I want that brand. read more

This was my first time visiting Total Wine. I have had this place recommended by several people. One Saturday I ventured in. I was overwhelmed right off with the amount of choices. It appeared to have it's regulars going and coming with their selections. I walked around it bit to see how the sections were structured. There was a line at a tasting bar area, other staff were stocking the shelves and there was a vendor tasting in another area. There is far too much to sift through on your own. I solicited help for a staff member that pointed me in the direction and gave me the aisle number. I was speaking with the person I was with and a fellow shopper overheard. He was kind enough to help us find what we were looking for. I showed him the bottle on my phone. He was able to find it quickly, he was a regular. Thank kind connoisseur. Purchased over 500 dollars of liquor for a wedding. Went to return 2 unopened unused shrink wrapped bottles. Staff said no returns OR exchanges (which I said was fine w me !) They jokingly asked "Bringing us a gift?" When I walked in with the 2 Bottles. Basically told me I "had a lot to learn" and ushered me out of the store. I even called customer service - NO recourse. On 6/17/2025, I visited the store to purchase a couple bottles Cranberry juice that my husband and I enjoy. The shelves were empty if this particular brand of cranberry juice. Matthew S was very helpful, he said a truck had just delivered some boxes and he went to back grabbed some bottles of juice for me. Lately I have been enjoying espresso martinis so, Matthew S referred me to Cantera Negra Cafe, which is a blue agave tequila based coffee liqueur. I purchased it blindly along with the Cantera Negra Silver tequila. The Cantera Negra Cafe has hints of coffee, chocolate, and vanilla. I really enjoyed this own it's own! I think I will also try it with Ketal One Vodka. I did not care to much for it paired with the tequila because the tequila was overpowering. Matthew S was amazing in explaining the different notes of the tequilas. He was wagered help, which is way I love purchasing my different Spirits from Total Wine &More. The staff is always pleasant and excited to help and educate you weather it's wine, tequila, Vodka, bourbon, whiskey, cigars, Total Wines staff has you covered. First time here today looking to use a holiday gift card and buy some necessities fro a Sunday brunch. As others have mentioned...WOW... what a store. I am pretty sure that they have everything. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We found what we were looking for and a couple of things we were not looking for. Tried a couple of samples that were offered and thought that we had better leave before we lost our ability to say no. Love the selection of all things Michigan. Total racist experience & more. We picked out a 6-pack of beer and a 4-pack of Jameson Ginger & Lime. We get to the register and there are two Asian men trying to make a purchase. The men had their passports. The cashier called a manager over. The manager gave them a hard time, asking them for another form of ID. The men said no. The manager asked again but this time spoke loudly, as though being louder would help them understand what he was saying better: "DO YOU HAVE ANOTHER FORM OF ID?" The manager wouldn't accept their passport but then one of the men found another form of ID which allowed them to make a purchase. I felt like I was in the TSA line at the airport! More about the Jameson - there was a large display of these 4-packs with a large yellow sign stapled to the front of the display that said $4.29 Jameson Ginger & Lime. However, it rang up for $13.99. The cashier and I walked over to the display and he pointed out, in small print, "12 oz can." He agrees the sign is deceiving. There are only 4-packs in the display. There isn't even a spot for where single 12 oz cans would go. He called over that same manager. He said it's not priced wrong and was rude by saying, "you want one can...I can give you one can" and acted like he was going to open up the 4-pack. What a jerk! read more

This place is insane. It's wall to wall floor to ceiling wine, beer and spirits with a smattering of snacky foods and charcuterie mixed in. Looking for Scotch....there's an aisle. Bourbon...same thing. Prices were comparable to your corner store but they had an ENORMOUS selection. Every employee I was in the vicinity of was happy to help and the overall organization of the store has great flow. It was like the dewey decimal system but for booze. They have an amazing selection of local, regional and international brands. Aisles are well stocked so you can easily find best you're looking for. They offer a great selection of mixers and drink additions (pickle stuffed olives, edible hibiscus flowers). As of the time of this review they had a limited amount of food options (some cheeses/meats/olives). Looks like they may have more in the future. I hope so! For too long, people in this area have had to deal with small, family owned liquor stores who sell expired beer and mark up their liquor prices over State minimum or large mega mart chains where liquor and wine and beer are kind of an afterthought with limited selection. At Total Wine, you get the most amazing selection of everything, expert helpful staff, and State minimum pricing on ALL liquor. Another plus - when it comes to allocated bourbons, most smaller stores in the area completely price gouge and only sell to their friends and regulars in a very undemoractic way. With Total Wine's shopper card, you get priority for allocated bourbons based on how much you spend. It's about as fair as it gets and you'll never pay over State minimum. read more

Always come here if I want to try making a new cocktail because of their large selection of whisky, bourbon, and bitters. The worst service I ever received in my life for a place where I spent my money! How is it when I ask for assistance I am bother to your staff??? I came in to make a simple purchase and it took me to ask three different people to get one bottle of alcohol. I literally asked one person where the item was located while I interrupted their social conversation with their colleagues and they forgot to mention it was behind a glass. It took a vendor to help me find a button to call for help. I stopped one person who said "oh we got the call and someone will be with you" five minutes later I stopped someone else who said well let me find out why no one has come over. While I'm still waiting a manager thankfully walked by (who I flagged down by the way) and say I don't know why we weren't alerted, to finally get my purchase. The only person who showed a bit of customer service and was friendly was Santo the cashier which is why I gave two stars. Possibly as a young African American in sweats they felt I didn't deserve the proper respect a paying customer deserves.
