The parking lot and entry are in the side, facing away from busy Plymouth Road. Inside is a very crowded, dirty, and dusty, rundown, but extremely crowded with a large variety of product, much of which is very high-quality, store. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Great spirits shop. I love the layout. It's easy to find what you want. The selection is very nice as it's sometimes difficult to find things you want to try in Michigan. I will definitely put this shop in my rotation. The countertop accoutrement delighted me. I was amazed by the pickle flavored spirit, and the mini bottles are some of my fav spirits. The Wine Palace is without a doubt the go to place for any of your wine and spirit-related needs. Although there are stores closer to my home, the Wine Palace's large inventory and customer service is far ahead of others. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and weren't sleazy salesmen trying to push or con their way into a sale. They offered multiple recommendations based on the spirit and particular taste I wanted and offered alternative based on price. Also, their prices are the lowest in the state, so I know I'm getting the best price. The owners, Cliff and Kelly, were super kind and helpful and even offered to order and reserve a specific, more selective spirit that I could not find at other stores with an ETA. I have never felt so low in my life leaving this place. They are very racist and clearly do not like people of color. I am visiting my mom in town and came here for a certain mixer. The owner I assume or the person who does their ordering would not leave the counter to come show or help me find what I was looking for. Clearly he was not assisting any customers and encouraged me to go to another store to find what I was looking for. There is definitely a bad vibe in the store and they NEED to be reported and shut down for good. People like this does not deserve to be in business of customer service. I will be reporting them as well to the BBB.. UPDATE: The owner has responded and accused me of not wearing a mask. They are trying to switch the narrative of my review. I would have not been able to receive any assistance without being told to get face covering or mask first. They are trying to make an excuse for their lack of customer service skills. Amazing selection. You will find you favorites and lots of fun things to try. They had quite a few cute gift sets, which can be hard to find outside the holidays. I like to get gift cards to here, because it's fun to shop and I know the recipient can try whatever tickles their fancy. If you are into minis, there is a great selection. Im truly dumbfounded. I went in today on thanksgiving to get my wife some very much so needed wine after she spent the day cooking for our family and wanted to relax. so after effortlessly driving around Livonia looking for what I was sent out to retrieve, I run into this place. inviting in the outside, absolutely beautiful on the inside. the employee that I talked to about this incident was an absolute sweetheart. He was understanding, calming, and very mature. the "boss" as this gentleman called him; was the complete opposite. He refused to sell me wine because my brother did not have ID. Understood. I am the legal guardian of my brother as my mom is currently battling 2 types of cancer, and congestive heart failure among many other things. my father tirelessly slaves away at work to support his family and unfortunately that requires most of his time and energy meaning I am left to parent my brother. legally, I am his guardian. Not only did he not have a choice to go in because my car does not have heat; but I feel guilty leaving people and pets in a vehicle. I won't do it. But, what about the never ending rush of families coming in and out with children ranging from new born to 30+ years old who were not denied service? what about the CHILDREN carrying alcohol and being with their families when it's purchased? LEGALLY there is no difference. this was frustrating. but understandable legally as I am also a business owner. I respect his decision partially. what I do not respect is the way I was treated by the "boss" I was very calm minus my very obvious social anxiety EXPLODING from every seem of my body and just wanted to understand why it was okay for the other families but not me. so upon approaching the "boss" he then proceeded to pick up a BUSINESS CARD off of the COUNTER AND PUT IT TO HIS EAR LIKE A PHONE AS HE WAVED HIS HAND AT ME. I absolutely can not let go of the way I was disrespected. the man I had the conversation with about the question of why others could purchase without showing family id but I couldn't is once again who we will call sweetheart. he explained to me that he didn't understand but because the "boss" said no he couldn't change anything. we had a productive, calm, adult conversation and we shook hands. then we wished each other a happy and safe holiday and we went our ways. but as a business owner who like any other, cannot survive without his CUSTOMERS, I can't get over the way I was so easily treated like nothing. the amount of respect that the "boss" who is the owner or owners son I believe is missing is absolutely heartbreaking. someone close to them should definitely sit them down and explain that he wouldn't be rich with that stick up his ass without the customers that come in and out of his family's business. he is nothing without the community and our respect. so why push me away? if you're so easily interested in disrespecting the second part of what you should view as your family, this is a business I will most certainly keep my people, and business away from. I hope that if I'm not the only one that has had a situation like this, more will speak out. I've never left a negative review because I usually don't like spreading or attaching negativity to my name or those around me. I hope more than anything this was a learning experience for this boy and not just another number he will replace. As customers, it is absolutely certain that we need to feel heard and wanted. as business owners it is absolutely certain that we need to hear and respect our customers wishes. who are not only our customers but our family. our support system. our success. This store has a wide selection of beer, wine and liquor. Unlike many other stores that make this claim wine Palace is the real deal. One of the largest craft beer selections with a liberal build your own six pack policy. Mead and ciders are well represented. The liquor selection is enormous and they have a special section for Michigan distillers. Like the liquor section the wine selection dwarfs most competitors. Wait, can I still use that word or will the social justice warriors pounce on me? They also have a Deli section and snacks. The staff is extremely accommodating. Some of my single beers I was buying weren't priced individually and they quickly found the pricing. They also looked up a craft gin I was looking for and special ordered it and told me when it would be in. Well worth a visit. read more

I came here because the Meijer in Livonia does not sell liquor. I was pleasantly surprised at how big this store is on the inside and the selection of beer, wine and liquor. They also have some beer refrigerated, which is important for last minute pick ups. They also have keg beer for purchase. The service was awesome as they offered many suggestions. Finally, they had a small selection of food (deli meat, shrimp, pizza). I'm happy this store is close to my house, and I am sure I will be a frequent visitor. read more

A clean, well-stocked liquor/beer/wine storem with just about anything on earth you'd need to light your alkie buzz. As I headed to an "Irish wake" I thought to pick up some beer for the family. Naturally, when I spied their walk-in cooler full of quarter kegs...I needed to take a look. With temps nearing 100, who wouldn't be happy with an icy cold keg to drink out of!? So, we selected Brooklyn Brewery's Summer Ale (69.99) and were on our way. A nice way to blend my two world's together for the day. For the record: The beer was great. Cost breakdown: Keg: $69.99 Cups: $5.99 Ice: $7.99 Deposit keg: $30 Deposit tapper: $50 Tapper rental: $4 Purchased at 2pm, returned for deposit (need to be present with credit card) at 10pm. Not bad! They close at 11pm on Saturday night, reopen at 10am on Sunday. My only beef is that the tapper we rented blew. I mean that literally, it blew air every time we pumped it, creating more foam than necessary and making the process annoying. I mentioned it to them at the store, and though they didn't make an apology or refund the $4...they did make a note to fix it. So, to whomever gets it next. You're welcome. You owe me a no-foam beer. However, I feel there should've at least been a $4 credit. It's the small things. Otherwise, I'm fairly certain if this were the only spot you could shop for drinks in the area....you'd be set for life. read more

But once I noticed that their sign advertises that they carry craft beers, well, I knew I was just going to HAVE to stop! AND WHAT TOOK ME SO LONG! I think that Wine Palace does a number of things well: great selection of wine, beer, and liquor. Small and large producers alike a staff that is helpful without being overbearing- feel free to ask questions a massive cooler stocked with plenty of microbrews special showcases of seasonal products good prices! I was particularly impressed by the fact that their prices were lower than another nearby liquor store, and their selection is quite a bit larger than most. Great party store situated just off the high next to the Bob Evans. There are so many choices pretty much of everything liquor/party store you could think of, its not even funny! With an incredibly abundant selection of beers, wines and liquors, one will have no problem finding a unique and not so unique choice. If you are not sure what you are looking for, talk to the counter guys because they know their stuff and can explain it, order it, or direct you to it. They have a HUGE selection of imported as well as micro and custom beers. (Witches Brew anyone?) They have some pretty decent gift sets at what I thought were very good prices and sometimes on sale(especially around the holidays). But wait...there's more...they have a deli/food counter and make some of the best oven baked pizza and Philly steak pockets (or whatever you call em), they also have regular pizza, chicken, salad and a bunch of other things (too much to mention) all made fresh right there. But wait...there is even more...they have a humidor...no joke, this place even has this angle covered. My buddy tells me that they have a decent selection, but I have not actually gone in myself. We spied this as we came in the other night and vowed to return. I'm happy to say we made it this evening. Certainly a lot of items I'm not used to seeing on shelves in California, let alone Michigan! Beer and wine are well-represented with a few hidden gems here and there (we were rather surprised to find a "Whiskies of the World" sampler, for example (presumably named after the festival of the same name)). They carry a wide variety of scotches/whiskeys and surely a lot more that we didn't get time to circle around to in the short 20 minutes we had before they closed (eg. full range of years for Glen Fiddich, Aberlour, Balvenie and Bushmills ... just to name a few common ones). There's a large selection of hard alcohol, at least enough to match the beer/wine selection. Overall prices seemed reasonable, compared to what I'm used to seeing further north - and probably somewhat comparable to what I'd see as "usual" price for many things out west. Would certainly be great to return when I/we have more chance to look around and discover a more few hidden gems. read more

One of the best places for really rare brews. If you have a taste for beers that you have never had before, this is your shop. I have found some remarking beers, such as a smoky-tasting variant of Shiner Bock only available in the summer. Goes perfect while BBQ'ing! My brother found some great tasting Iron Maiden-themed brew that costed about $6/bottle, but oh so good! They have a lot of nice wine and liquor to choose from as well, with typical prices. The staff is very helpful and always attentive, except for the time when it's pretty packed, in which case you have to let your own natural curiosity guide you. If you have a particular taste in mind, wine palace has it! Kind of surprised to see reviews mentioning expired beer, as I've never had that experience. I suppose I should eyeball the bottles for the dates when I come here from now on. In the last few years, they have renovated and now have a cigar room to right when you walk in, which has your standard selection. They also have a deli where you can buy meats, cheeses, and pepperoni rolls, among other deli items. I've never had any food from here, so I can't speak about it's quality. From what I've seen though, it sure looks good. I don't live near the area anymore except to visit family, but when we have a BBQ and want a bunch of brew, this is our store! This store gets three stars for one reason. Almost all of their kegs were expired and incredibly expensive. At least one was expired by more than a year and they wanted $100 for 1/4 keg of it. I'm glad I don't write a review for every visit, as I think someone would start an intervention - lol I love shopping for wine ( or other) here. They are so friendly and helpful. They will order a single bottle of wine if they don't have what you're looking for! Sometimes their prices are a buck or two more than some of my other fave places ( target sells middle sister a lil cheaper). I love the huge selection. Their shelves are easier to navigate than some other places BUT I love how some places, up north and out of state, shelve their wines based on varietal ( Pinot, chard, Sauvignon ... ) then by region within that grouping. I have favorite wines but I always love to try new and unique wines and they have a great variety. I could spend a great deal of time in there using my wine app to learn about and to compare wines. read more

I remember coming here TWO DAYS before Xmas last year (after looking at 5 other stores) looking for blantons...no one else had it but this place had cases of the stuff. Definitely has a great selection and just as their Instagram says, if they don't have it you don't want it! As for their beer selection I am not sure because I don't usually go their for anything other than wine vodka, cognac or bourbon which they have an extremely large variety of.
