Great service and great displays, well organized and clean. Welcoming, friendly staff. Sales are good. Good selection of product.

This store is so well laid out and the staff are super helpful! I never feel overcrowded or unsafe in any way. There's always hand sanitizer and someone cleaning when I come here. Their selection is incredible and very good prices as well. My favourite wine is here, La Vita e Bella, because its 1L for about $20. If you haven't tried this, pick up a bottle! The red is easy drinking for dinner and the white is one of the best pinot grigio I've had in a while. They even stay delicious for 3-4 days easy after it's been opened which doesn't happen with all wines that's for sure! I think it's because they're sustainably made maybe. Anyways, check this place out if you're looking for some new wines to try and if you want some recommendations, DM me! Hahaha I love wine read more

Great selection. Didn't find my $7 Boones wine but so many cool brands. Great selection of all hard liquor, craft beers, wines, and fancy drink mixes. Highly recommend if you want to browse, try something new, or looking for something very specific for a drink recipe. read more

We go to this location often but I had never considered commenting until this visit. The weekly flyer showed a 12 day Wine Advent Calendar and we decided to treat ourselves to it since we're not leaving the house any time soon due to COVID. Store was clean as always and well laid out. Lots of available staff to help out. Huge shout out to Kaisie who went way "beyond" in supporting us today. We weren't really sure what to fill our box with and wanted to try new things. Kaisie stayed within our price limit per bottle, took time to walk through the aisles and describe & tell us about his suggestions. He had a ton of information and made the experience extra fun for us. We raved about him the whole way home. Thanks again Kaisie! You made our day - can't wait to try ALLLLLLLL the wine. read more

Well I uncover a unbelievable scam by Wine and Beyond. I bought 10 bottles of rum they had on sale 32.99.Should have been 330.00 + tax. When I went through the till the price was 416.00. They are charging 7.00 per bottle for a bottle deposit fee. That's right 70.00 charge for 10 bottles. Or 25% the cost of the rum I went to superstore and asked them what the deposit fee is for the same rum..10 cents each. They are charging you 70x the amount of the deposit. What a bunch of crooks! That's my last time shopping there beware! read more

I usually don have an issue here but tonight I did. I had a long day and went to pick up my tw from work to then stop her to get stuff and my twin recommended me a drink to try so I asked her to come in with me so she come in and showed me the drink so I then went to the till to buy and he asked to see my ID so i showed him it to then have him ask my twin which I thought was stupid but ok to only realize she did have her ID so he told me I couldn't buy it..i was shocked and said she's my identical twin and that she was the same age as me and shes not having my liquor but no matter how I explained it he wouldn't let me. idk this is stupid I've came her before with my mom and they didn't ask for both are IDs last time. anyways I went home empty handed I'll find my business elsewhere read more

This place is the best if you are trying to find anything! Great service, excellent prices, wide selection and always in stock. I tried some strawberry beer (Fruli) from a Yelp! event last year and I headed right to this place and sure enough they sell it! I heard about flavoured vodka and checked out their section, they carry so many different brands and flavours. Lots of staff working no matter what time of day you are shopping. If you can't find something, someone will direct you and will even look in their computer to see how many bottles they have. Many choices, in fact too many and there is always sampling as well. The sampling staff are super friendly and knowledgable. Looks like a fun place to work too. Too bad there aren't more locations as this one is tucked away in Windermere and the other location is in Sherwood Park. read more

Wine and beyond Stupidity !!! Horrible management... my ID was in my car and my girlfriend was purchasing over $400 of alcohol. They checked her identification and she showed it. She is 44. The teller said sorry they need to check my identification. My girlfriend said she is the purchaser and she is of age. They called the manager who said she was not allowed to purchase the alcohol because they needed to I.d. as we came in together! It was so stupid. I am obviously of age. They just lost great customers- we will stick with local small business owners who are nice and have common sense. They are just beyond ridiculous at this place. Don't shop there. read more

Wine? Check? Liquor beyond wine? Also check. If you want some sort of booze or booze related item (corkscrew, bottle opener, etc) then Wine and Beyond is your store. This is a pretty big store, but that just means more to choose from. They have a great selection of wines, and often have samples (hello), but there are lots of other liquors here as well. They have beers on tap that you can try before you buy (within reason, I think they limit you to two or three samples). Plus they sell growlers and kegs to fill up, which is great in theory, but I've never actually gotten a full growler or keg of beer (I like beer, but not quite enough to have an entire growler or keg worth). My friend and I stopped here to kill some time before going to a movie. What I really like about Wine and Beyond is the people there aren't constantly bugging you about buying something, but they are around if you have any questions. Apparently wine and beyond also does tasting classes and stuff, so if you have a group of people and want to do a wine tasting (or scotch tasting or whatever else) then you can contact them and book an event. Prices here are also pretty decent. I mean it depends on what you're getting. They've got everything from cheap beers to pricey scotch (like way beyond my budget). I can usually find something here I want to try and buy. It's a bit out of my route, but Wine and Beyond is definitely worth stopping in to check out (assuming you're of legal drinking age and want to buy liquor). read more

Worth the drive. Well attended. We were invited to sample some wines as we entered the store. It was fabulously clean and well stocked. We watched many staff busy at work. We got 10% off our purchase for buying more than 6 of anything. We signed up for the free discount card and are entered into their monthly contest to win a $100.00 gift card. They carry really cool selection of beers from Belgium that we miss so dearly. I was very satisfied with this shop. read more

Love love love this place! So many great brands and the selection is superb! The staff are so kind and helpful I can go in and not have any idea what I want to try and come out with a bunch of yummy new drinks. They are always quick to offer samples and even sent me home with a few small testers on occasion. read more

I usually prefer to be left alone when I am browsing. However, the staff here are consistently helpful and knowledgeable, bordering on passionate. I have gotten into the habit of meandering about until I get asked the "can I help you with anything" so I can ask questions about bourbon, bitters, beer, etc. I have never been let down. One time they risked letting me down when they were out of my usual Angostura bitters. But I took a risk on a different brand (based on a recommendation from one of the staff), and discovered that I prefer Fee Brothers Bitters. Best liquor store ever. read more

Walking in here truly makes me feel like I'm at the Liquor Barn in Kentucky -Perhaps it's because they're owned by the same parent company! That said, Wine and Beyond offers an amazingly large selection of anything you could possibly want to drink. Prices are comparable to other liquor stores, but the selection usually makes it a one-stop shopping experience. Spend hours browsing the shelves, or even enjoy some taste-testing. If you're looking for something specific, you may want to ask for help, however. The store layout has Sangria appearing in multiple locations, and with so many options, it may be difficult to locate exactly what you're looking for! read more

Wine and Beyond - Storefront - Beer, Wine & Spirits Near Me - Edmonton, Alberta

This is a review for the Wine and Beyond at McTaggert Heights on Rabbit Hill Road, which doesn't show up on Yelp. My elderly parents bought a case of wine today. They noticed the cost per bottle was higher than the amount shown at the shelf. The young man at the register said he would fix it. They paid for the wine, came home and realized they had been charged the higher (incorrect) amount. They went back. While trying to get a refund, the staff made a mistake and charged them a second time while assuring them they were getting a refund. The real kicker was the staff admitted that the first staff person lied about 'fixing' the computer issue when in fact he happily tried to rip off an older couple. read more

Holy crow! This place is massive, super clean and organized, AND has everything under the sun! Winos.. you will find your wines here. Wines on wines on wines. There's just so much choices for any type of booze. It's spectacular. The decor is event great. Did I say organized? read more

Great selection of pretty much everything, even hard to find drops & varietals. Staffing does not seem to be trained well, and that goes to cashiers and floor personal. Still ,as a whisky enthusiast, this the place to be. Pricing is a totally different matter: W&B is outrageously expensive, and that is throughout the board. Expect to pay up to 25-30% more than elsewhere, specially superstore liquor. Granted, W&B has the selection, but I pretty much stopped shopping here just because of pricing. Example: a specific bottle of single Malt Scotch was $35 more at W&B than at SS As a side note, we went for a whiskey tasting here a while ago, it was the most disorganized event I have ever attended to. Even the rep who conducted the tasting was embarrassed by the lack of professionalism. Since W&B is owned by the same group who operates Liquor Depot, I wonder how they managed to have to of their stores in such close proximity? read more

I've been here 5 times and every time this place has unimpressed me. The first few times, they had just opened, so I decided not to review them. I went back today and they've been open a half year now so they should have fixed a lot of the issues I had before. Here's a list of all the things that come to mind. I assure you there are more: First of all, their shelving looks like it was organized by random. For the most part, it appears that they are trying to order by country and region, but then some sections are just groupings of the same style of beer. This makes it extremely hard to find a specific beer or brewery. The pricing is just crazy. Generally, I think most of the beer is close to what I'd expect to pay, but there were some things that popped out as abnormal. Two six packs from the same brewery and the same cost to W&B with a $3 difference. A four pack of one beer for $32 where I've seen it for almost $10 less elsewhere. There's too many to list here, but the pricing seems rife with these inconsistencies. They must not have anyone facing their beer or they don't care. The shelves look like they haven't been cleaned up in a week, except for strangely, the Rogue section which looked perfect. I kept finding different beer behind the front facing beer and random six packs and bottles in the wrong area. This was mid afternoon on a Monday, so I doubt that this mess was because they were busy. Beer stands in the wine aisles that isn't anywhere in the beer section. Why do I have to traverse all the wine aisles to see all the beers available? There's extremely poor service at the growler bar too. IF I can get someone's attention to help me, they invariably seem annoyed that they have to work the bar. The two times that I managed to get to the point where I ordered; 1) they only had howlers...a fact that was told to me after I had spent 15 minutes there, and 2) they don't know how to pour, so both time, my howler/growler, was 25% foam. MACRO BEER IS NOT CRAFT...so don't put macro beer under a sign that says CRAFT BEER! If you had a true beer manager he or she wouldn't allow that! I can't imagine that I'll ever come back. read more

Oh I adore this place even though it reminds me of Walmart for alcohol. There is an AMAZING selection and unbeatable prices at wine and beyond. Every wine imaginable, they have - I was pleasantly surprised to find out that they carried some of my Okanagan favourites! Absolutely lovely! I think one of the best features this place has to offer is the wine tastings and samples of beer they offer! You can also buy large jugs of beer from their taps that are significantly cheaper and refillable - way to save the environment and my wallet wine and beyond! In my few trips to this place I've also found some lovely house decor - including a very LARGE wine glass that I intend to fill with wine corks! I could wander this store aimlessly for hours - it's heaven! read more

Big selection and a monstrous size store. Pretty good job of rotating through product given it's size. Very pricy, but they carry considerably more than the average liquor store. Great tasting area and huge growler bar. Staff knowledge has marked improvement from when they first opened ! read more

Wine and Beyond - Clown Shoes Beer is Here! - Beer, Wine & Spirits Near Me - Edmonton, Alberta

It's bigger than Staples! And only filled with alcohol and accessories! And a tasting station. So many different types of wine, beer and spirits to try. You won't get bored here! Given the size, I assumed it was a chain of liquor stores. It may be in the future, but I was surprised to find that there are only two locations in Alberta... and they're both in Edmonton! Holy toledo, Yelpman, how'd they pull that one off? And in the burbs too... burb living must be like small town living, there isn't all that much to do... so you drink with your neighbours! Anyway, there are entire aisles dedicated to just about every kind of alcohol you could want, plus a few spots to pick up any little bartending accessories you might need to look like you know what you're doing. You know, shakers and bottle openers of various sorts and things. Like any craft and hobby store (like... craft cocktails and drinking as a hobby! It's a thing!), the staff all seem to be knowledgeable on the products they stock and able to give suggestions or creative solutions for whatever occasion you're stocking up for! read more

So this store WAS one of my favourite but... My sittuation took place in wine beyond at southgate .I went to store with my husband and my parents. Im 25 and i didnt took my id from car as i was there only to translate as my parents doesnt speak english. My husband wanna try one of your beer and employee ask me about my id. I said i didnt take from car and i will not buy or try anything. Then show up another man from staff and didnt even give me a chance to explain why i dont have id etc. ( i could go and bring in 30 sec). Instead he actually kick me off from the store and also tell me that im looking younger that 18 and You can or can not belive me but im not look younger that 18. I know the law and policy about selling alkohol to minor but behaviour of employee in this store is not acceptable. Now im curius what they are gona do with discrimination that taking place all the time in this store... read more

This review is for Wine and Beyond at McTaggert Heights on Rabbit Hill Road. Horrible customer service. The people working there are very rude and condescending towards people with disabilities, and refuse to accommodate customers with medical issues. The store manager argued with me for about 5 minutes about their ridiculous store policies surrounding service to customers with medical concerns, and they totally refused to service me, even when I offered to go outside and do curbside pickup, and pay by cash. Whoever is the CEO of this publicly-traded liquor retailer needs to seriously reevaluate the way that these stores are managed, and the excessive use of power and coercion being implemented by their sad middle aged managers who have zero regards for consumer rights. I wouldn't be surprised to see this company getting sued for human rights violations. And to the manager of this location, get off your pedestal and quit being hypocritical - your personal policy about keeping consumers safe, while working in the alcohol service industry which is fuelling the addictions of so many people during this pandemic, is sadly hypocritical. read more

Such an amazing liquor store! Loads of free samples and even some food samples that go well with the alcohol. It would be good if they could give you something to say you're over 18 instead of asking for ID about 6 times. Such a great selection of drinks and novelty items for sale. Had a good experience at the tasting bar last weekend. Got a good education on Scotch from a fellow I believe named Eric (sorry if I am wrong!) and he spent a lot of time with us and explained the basics of Scotch. We ended up buying a good bottle and it was a good decision influenced by him. Beer prices are still so high it is a waste of time but there is nothing sweeter than tasting a $3000 dollar scotch. Not many stores in Edmonton (if any) do that. read more

This place is massive. Somewhat like the huge liquor stores found in the United States; unfortunately the prices aren't like they are there. Quite expensive compared to other liquor stores but amazing selection of wine and everything else (spirits, beer, cider...). Visited Wine and Beyond for the first time today, not terribly impressed. Large selection, but ended up not finding what I was looking for, I feel like there are a ton of brands but not a lot of different products. Went in looking for a unique birthday gift, couldn't find anyone to help me, finally tracked someone down and they were moderately helpful (that's being generous). I receive much more personalized and enthusiastic service at my local Co-op or Sobeys liquor stores. Probably won't be returning. read more
