When they brought him out to me at pickup, he insisted on stopping to greet every single employee along the way -- it was obvious he had made friends with the whole staff. This is not a kennel. It's a true five-star doggie hotel. The place is very well staffed, and the team pays close attention to the dogs' eating habits, bathroom habits, and daily routines. They could tell us everything about George that we would have noticed ourselves at home. They even read the dogs a bedtime story, complete with a belly rub and, of course, a treat at the end. The grooming session on the day of pickup was the best we've ever seen on any of the seven Berners we've had. We felt completely confident leaving George in their care, and it will be the only place we ever leave him. We would happily book with them again.

His quarters were about 5 by 7 feet of cage free bliss with a Kuranda bed that sounds like something a monk would use to meditate on the meaning of life. We signed him up for group play, and the staff cheerfully let him run with the pack all day. They feed Blue Buffalo here, which Bear already eats at home, so his digestive system remained calm and civilized. The people who work here are happy and polite in that rare way that tells you they love what they do. My wife called twice to check on Bear, which required identifying him by last name because there were four Bears in the building, and they treated her questions like the most natural thing in the world. They even reported that Bear had made new friends. The morning we picked him up, he was washed, dried, and looking smug. It is not cheap. It is not outrageous either. It is simply worth paying to know that your dog is cared for by people who get it. The only small note is that the building is not staffed overnight, but that is more a fact than a flaw. If you need to leave your dog somewhere and want to feel entirely at peace, K9 Resorts Hamilton is a good choice.

I did some research and found all the amazing reviews for Heavenly Hounds, so I decided to sign up for their puppy social and puppy Kindergarten class. Stephanie is our instructor and she is awesome, always giving advice and willing to answer all my numerous questions. My puppy is learning and I am learning with him as well. Puppy Social is great as well, it's not a dog free for all. The dogs are split up by size and temperament, this is great for dogs who might be very shy or even extremely outgoing. The trainers watch the dog interactions like a hawk and give you real time feedback on what is appropriate interactions and quickly defuse any interaction that might lead to something not positive. I would highly recommend Heavenly Hounds training to anyone looking for a caring and positive experience for your dog.
