Last Friday I officially had my braces taken off and it was a really exciting moment after 32 month of treatment! I am so pleased with my experience altogether. The entire staff is awesome; friendly, professional and very efficient, Dr. Darren takes the time to thoroughly explain treatments to his patients, he gets to know us throughout the entire duration. Patient care and follow up is great. I want to give special thanks to the assistants: Jenny, Amanda, Erika and the rest of staff (hard to remember all the names lol) they always make you feel welcome. Wonderful experience, Period. read more

The treatment I was given (Invisalign) was effective. However, I felt every time I was there, all the staff EXEPT the orthodontist himself were very cold and rude. I felt like more of an inconvenience to the staff than a patient. I got invisalign for purely cosmetic purposes, and yet they put buttons on every single one of my teeth. i went to a diffrent dentist to get the buttons removed as I did not want to recieve the same treatment again, and the dentist there said they put way too many on for the purpose I needed it for. Not to mention the insane wait times. You could be just a few minutes late and you have to wait for almost an hour to get a basic procedure done. My mother was also not happy with the service here. read more

I've heard people say their experience at the orthodontist is painful. I really appreciate Windy City because every visit is painless, the work glow is efficient and the care they deliver is effortless. Angelica is my absolute favorite, but they could all be favs easy with the attention they give at every service. Thank ya Angelica and the rest of the WC CREW read more

Would not recommend this dentist to adults ... this is definitely a dentist for kids and I believe he maybe a great dentist for children considering the reviews . I came here recently in desperate need of professional help with achieving a beautiful smile. Upon entering everyone was an absolute pleasure to work with I was seen by I am guessing she is his dental assistant? ( I maybe be wrong ) she was lovely and took photos and XRays of my teeth. After the pictures, She called me back into the room to discuss my dental plans ........ I was confused as I THOUGHT I would be meeting with the dentist and not an assistant???? I asked her if I may speak with the dentist directly as that's what I thought the consultation was for ... She stated that after she and I talk she goes and tell the dentist . He tells her his approach and then we decide. * please note I understand the importance of assisting the dentist . To ensure he has dedicated time with patients. his time is valuable and may not have 15mins to spend in a consultation.* She then calls him in and he starts telling me about three cavities that I have. This is my First time speaking with him and he had not asked about my goals or my dental history. If he did he would have known that I had two root canals done and NOT three cavities .. He then suggested that my bottom front tooth was a cavity and should be removed . I declined. He suggested it would ensure proper alignment as I have crowding at my bottom teeth I asked him about the teeth adjacent and he said he would REMOVE THAT TOOO FOR SYMMETRY!!!! Basically he wanted to have a field day removing my adult teeth for the heck of it . I was APPLAUD . Dentistry has improved over the years and removing teeth for symmetry or for crowding isn't always the approach. I left there feeling defeated and cried in the rest room . I felt like I would never achieve my goals. I found another dentist he was wonderful. After throughly examining my teeth I had no cavities! He suggested IPR to polish between the teeth and create space. Removed the NECESSARY teeth and made the PERFECT PLAN . If you are an adult I highly encourage for you to visit a few places after stopping here as this dentist is not trustworthy and has no integrity . read more

The entire team at Windy City Ortho gets an A+. I've been looking for an orthodontics for a few years as I contemplated getting Invisalign. I went to a couple of other places before landing on WCO. The entire staff was friendly, responsive and helpful during my 9 month process of Invisalign. Only once were they not on time for an appointment due to a couple of the staff members calling off sick, but they apologized profusely. Dr. P was very hands-on during the appointments, and answered all of my questions. I would highly recommend this place for any orthodontics needs. read more

It's fine. The employees (who do 99% of the work, not the orthodontist) have all been kind. Their scheduling is horrendous. Just tried to reschedule an appointment, they're booked 3 months out. We've had so many scheduling issues, not just this one. read more

I don't get the 1star review. All our visits here, we were met with courteous staff. Even by phone, they worked with us with our insurance issues. Treatment wise: We are so happy with the results! My son's teeth looked great. He now has the confidence to smile and get his pictures taken. Every visit we had for the last 2years were outstanding. Dr. P is always very professional, takes time to explain treatment details and dealt well with a child with developmental issues. His staff are absolutely wonderful. They are prompt in the service; happy, pleasant, and professional in their actions; and most of all, they make you feel comfortable and at home. The clinic is also very lovely and location is easy to go to. I highly recommend this practice. read more

Windy City Orthodontics - Best Smile Ever! Thanks Dr. P! - Orthodontists Near Me - Chicago, Illinois

Make sure to do your homework when choosing WCO. I was very disappointed that I was only offered ceramic braces for my daughter, and Invisalign. After our consult I was looking at their website it showed metal braces. I asked why I wasn't offered the metal braces and they said they stopped using them 2-3 years ago. Are you telling me that they haven't updated their website since then? Anyway, without going into the nitty gritty, I felt that they weren't being honest with me, so I didn't want to work with them. They were fine with keeping the $612.00 that I had already given them. They would not refund it back to me. So, I left the money and them. I told them that if they were o.k. with me not recommending anyone to their office, then they could let me walk out the door without my money. And they did. I found an even better orthodontist that cares to be honest and trustworthy. read more

I had the best 4 year experience with Windy City Ortho! I have so much anxiety when I'm doing anything involving my teeth and they made sure every appointment i was comfortable. They gave me comfort being there so long! When i purchased my home they gave me an awesome gift. When they told me i wasn't getting my braces off when expected they gave me a gift card to make me feel better. They truly always made me feel welcomed and i will definitely miss seeing them all the time! I highly recommend bringing your kids or yourself here. Beyond amazing staff! read more

I don't normally write reviews but my experience today at Windy City was great. Very professional staff all around!

From the front desk staff, to the assistants, to Dr. P himself, every single person at Windy City Ortho is attentive, patient, kind, and funny! I so appreciate that all of my questions are kindly answered, that I'm treated like family than just a patient, and that they understand financials can be difficult. As an adult, straight teeth is something I've always wanted, but either couldn't afford, or didn't want to get metal brackets. At WCO, I was given a completely reasonable estimate and payment plan for Invisalign which would allow me to adjust my smile, but not feel self-conscious at work or in social situations. I could recommend this office on that alone! Oh! And they give you cake on your birthday! read more

I am really happy with the care my son gets at Windy City Orthodontics. Everyone is so professional and caring and gives us the time and attention to be partners in the journey of wearing braces. I don't remember my experience being so painless. Dr P is amazing and very knowledgable. One of the reasons I found him was through a friend whose daughter had some issues and couldn't get good advice. Dr P was able to give her daughter the answers and the care they needed and her smile is awesome. I have found the same confidence and care with my son. My son doesn't mind going and thinks Dr P is funny and cool. I am also, impressed with the offices Covid precautions. I feel very safe with all the levels of protection they have put in place to ensure our safety. read more

I started my orthodontic treatment with Windy City ortho a couple of months back and so far so good. When I initially came in I saw angelica for my records and she did a wonderful job. I was called back sooner then expected once my case came in and I was scheduled two weeks prior to my original appointment. On the day of my bonding appointment Jackie at front desk was very pleasant and gave me some information to read and sign off on and made sure I was comfortable. For my bonding I got Karina and she did an awesome job with my bonding and explaining everything to me. Of course Dr.P was also great and everybody there made me feel comfortable and excited for this new journey. read more

We love Windy City Orthodontics! My twin sister and I both have braces and always love to go in a see the really nice staff. Dr. Pakravan is always so nice to us and makes sure to let us know we are doing a great job keeping our braces clean and following the rules. We even get rewarded for office visits and not braking brackets. For every 100 points you receive you get to pick a gift card to one of your favorite places to use. Having moved to Chicago from Birmingham, AL, I needed to find an orthodontist here who could replace a cracked upper retainer for me. Boy did I find the right place! I can't think of any other business I've ever been to, of any type, where every single person in the joint is so stinkin' nice! (Well, truthfully, my dentist's office in Birmingham was mighty close...) What a joy to have that kind of warm welcome in the dead of Chicago winter. The day I went in to get the mold made for the upper retainer, the good Dr. also replaced some glue that had come off of my lower permanent retainer. The new glue unfortunately popped off two days later. I went back in about two weeks later, and he replaced it at no charge. In short, I almost wish I needed more services at Windy City Orthodontics. It's a great environment with great people who do a great job. Thanks y'all! read more

My experience here was awful. On the day of my free consultation I was greeted by Charlie, a sales Representative. He gave me a tour of the facility and spoke with me about my concerns. I told him that I needed top braces to prepare the spacing for an implant and Charlie was adamant about me getting both top and bottom braces because the cost of this treatment plan was $6700.00. I was also told that I would need to put down a $500.00 deposit toward my treatment plan to solidify my next appointment. I didn't sign the treatment plan because I wanted to discuss it with my dad and I even brought my dad with me to talk to Dr. Pakravan about me getting only top braces. The doctor was also adamant about me sticking to the $6700.00 plan because it was more money for them. I explained that I really only wanted top braces and my dad explained this as well, he's more assertive than I am, and Dr. Pakravan said the cost would remain $6700.00 even if I only get top braces, which everybody knows this doesn't make sense if you're doing half the work. I sought a second professional opinion and was told I did not need bottom braces and that it would cost me $3800.00 to get my top braces which was all I wanted to get ready for an implant. If Dr. Pakravan would've provided me with reasonable pricing and accommodated my needs then I wouldn't have sought out treatment elsewhere. Now Windy City Orthodontics refuses to give me back my $500.00 deposit and has came up with false charges that were never communicated to me by their staff. They have resulted to lying to the BBB, my carecredit vendor and any other entity I complain to about my unfair treatment with them. Their billing practices is not detailed so you won't know what they're charging you for. This business is corrupt, the staff is nice as long as you're paying top dollar for poor customer service and they don't care about the consumer. They only care about charging you ridiculous amounts of money. They did perform some services to start my treatment but I should be charged for those things only and not false charges that equal an additional $750.00 amount that was never explained to me, not during my first consultation with Charlie, May, Dr. Pakravan or anyone in that office. Don't go here. I recommend 1st Family Dental, they are reasonable, they perform every service you need in one office and the doctors CARE about the consumer. Dr. Pakravan does not care, he just wants your money. read more

My experience on the phone (twice) and in person (once) were...confusing...at best. I originally called to get pricing for new retainers. I asked, "what is the price for new top & bottom Holley retainers?" She replied, "what is your last name?" To which I said, "ma'am, I'm just calling around for pricing. I'm not a patient yet." She said, "this is a real person, not a computer so we can better serve you." (Um...duh?) I said I wanted new retainers. I'm an adult, I wear them so that my teeth don't move, and I've had them since I got my braces off at 16. I must've had to repeat that exact sentence at least 15 times on the phone with this gal, who didn't seem to quite get it. At first, I thought she was maybe multitasking and didn't hear me. But by the end of the conversation, I was so frustrated that I ended up making an appointment and just thought I'd explain it to the orthodontist in person. When I arrived at the office, I was greeted politely. I was then taken on an awkward tour of the facilities and then the same girl who was on the phone took a bunch of photos and x-rays of my mouth. Again, I reminded her that I just wanted a new retainer. My insurance doesn't pay for ortho and so I don't really want to pay for x-rays that won't be used out of pocket. She led me to a room to wait for the doc. The doc arrived with a flourish, explained to me what our options were (retainer vs retainer) and then adjusted the ones I have to see if that would help. My appointment really could have taken 5 minutes but took ~40. Didn't really bother me, doc was nice and knew what he was talking about. Ended up going to a different orthodontist in Lakeview for my new retainers, one with better pricing and a less ditzy staff. read more

I just began a 2-2 1/2 year process of wearing braces and am really looking forward to the results. Dr. Pakravan at Windy City Orthodontists and his team have been a great help and support with the braces. This place is great. Dr. P is an awesome guy. Has been giving my child super service. The staff is nice as well. They always take us promptly which is sooo important these days and an attribute that I value . Cheers for that. Anyway, from my experience so far, I would highly recommend this place. We actually interviewed 5 places before picking these guys. ....Not sure how many people actually do that. My friends laughed but seriously, it was an eye opener. Something I would highly recommend. I went today to get Invisalign consult. I previously went to a different orthodontist and thought the price was high so I was shopping around to compare. The staff were friendly and efficient. The only problem I had is the fact that I went to a orthodontist office and I have not seen or interacted with an orthodontist. Coordinator Carla was fabulous explaining but if I'm going to a orthodontist and shelling out 5-7k for him to straighten my teeth, I expect to see an orthodontist! The fact I didn't see one rubbed me the wrong way. I'm sure Dr. P is a nice guy from glowing reviews I read here on yelp, too bad I never got to meet him in person and get his opinion on it. read more

Would not recommend this place. We went there for the first time today. We waited in the waiting room for over an hour and still did not see the doctor. My son who was 8 was getting really anxious from waiting so long for getting his procedure done. The office is not run well if they are unable to let the patients know if they are running behind. The office manager blamed the front desk for the bad communication and the front desk blamed the office manager. read more

I chose Windy City Orthodontics for my Invisalign treatment because of the positive reviews and the wonderful doctor and staff. I was given a very fair payment plan option and decided to go for it. My experience was very positive and I feel I was given the very best of what is offered for Invisalign. Fresh aligners every 3 days (rather than just 1-2 per month), regular checks ups, a permanent retainer and two custom retainers were all included in my package. I highly recommend Windy City Orthodontics for Invisalign. Im very happy with my final results. read more

I am only about halfway through my treatment (give or take) and I absolutely LOVE Windy City Ortho! Not only is Dr. Parkravan great, but so is his staff! Everyone is super friendly and knowledgeable. This is my second time getting orthodontic treatment and compared to my first time around (at another office a few years back), Dr. P's office has been so kind as to explain to me everything that's going on in depth, they answer every single question and listen to every single concern no matter how small. They really take their time to make sure their patients are in the loop and really understand the treatment. Another big plus, the office is absolutely beautiful and the atmosphere is always calm and bright. Thank you Dr. Pakravan and staff for being so awesome! read more

I was amazed at how efficiently this place runs. From the front desk, to the assistants, to Dr. P, everyone is well informed of your treatment plan. I rarely ever write reviews but this place deserves all the stars. I am a patient for Invisalign and I was nervous about the whole process. From the moment I walked in they made me feel at ease and everyone from the receptionist to the assistants and Dr are just very friendly. After receiving my invisalign I somehow lost the entire bag they gave me and the were able to replace all of what I lost at no additional cost. Honestly I would not recommend anywhere else in the city for your orthodontic needs. This place is seriously the best!!!!!!! I wish I could give zero stars!!! Customer service is non-existent as the reception staff are rude and unprofessional. Maria is the worst. There always appears to a breakdown in communication where the orthodontist never gets the message to return patient phone calls. (Either that or someone is LYING!) Sanitary procedures are poor as staff have to be reminded at almost every visit to wash hands or to change gloves after touching common spaces. Often times the tech or orthodontist will touch hair, chairs, computer mouse, etc. with gloved hands and then proceed to put those same gloved hands in my mouth. When they're asked to change gloves, the staff often appear irritated and offer rebuttals. It seems that the entire staff could benefit from a lesson in sanitary procedures and cross-contamination prevention. They are downright lazy when it comes to hand-washing as they always opt for using cheap hand sanitizer when soap and hot water are readily available. Appointments are very difficult to schedule and no one answers the "after hours/emergency" line. Staff leave the office on a whim and the orthodontist is only in a couple of days a week. Last week, the staff closed the office early to "go trick-or-treating". Normal office hours are already very rigid (Monday-Friday 9am-5pm), but it seemed that the lure and pursuit of chocolate and other high-fructose corn syrup items were enough for the entire office to abandon shop on Halloween. Save your time, money, and energy and seek professional care elsewhere. The frustration isn't worth it and the quality of "care" that you'd receive is questionable at best. I consulted with other highly-skilled orthodontists and had additional evaluations to get other professional opinions about my case. It was revealed that Dr. Pakravan's "work" is sub-par and that the treatment I was receiving was inadequate for my case. *sigh* read more

This review is long overdue. I started treatment with Dr Pakravan on February 2014. I see him every 4-6 weeks and every time I have positive experiences. Fist of all, I did a lot of "shopping " around for an orthodontist. Although, my general dentist recommended him, I actually saw three different people before I decided to go with Dr Pakravan. I chose him because out of the other orthodontists, Dr Pakravan was the most thorough, and the most reasonably priced. Before selecting him, I saw and called him several times because I wanted to be sure all my questions were answered. I must admit I am a bit high maintenance. Yet, from day one, he has been very receptive to my concerns. The max amount of time one waits is 5 minutes. What's more, the office assistants have always been nice and to the point. I am a nurse and thus have high expectations. Now to the important thing: TEETH! I am very satisfied with the treatment I have received thus far. I have some time left but I know it will be worth it at the end. I promise, if you are looking for a knowledgeable guy with great bedside manner that will not charge you an arm and a leg, he is your guy. read more
