There are so few reviews and a few weird ones from obviously disturbed patients that I decided to throw my towel into the ring. I have been coming here on and off for the past 10 years. I have seen Michelle the owner/chiropracter, Elizabeth the acupuncturist and recently this month Heather the massage therapist. All 3 were excellent. I stopped Chiro as that particular style didn't work for my head injury but the back Chiro part was fine. Elizabeth I saw for several V.A. extended visits, maybe 20-25 visits. I found her highly sensitive, intuitive, and an excellent acupuncturist. Looks can be deceiving--she seems so quiet and shy but she gave me very good acupuncture and I had several breakthroughs under her care not found at any other acupuncture appointments the V.A. sent me to over the past 12 years. Heather was awesome. My Bff was a massage therapist and went w/my brother so I never got a massage;) This was my FIRST massage in my life. I was looking for a message specialist, this location was recommended thru Humana as they offer a discount to seniors, the fact is the 10 % discount makes the service more expensive than Message Envy, or the message school in Kailua, so basically this company is using Humana for advertising, I tried to bring this to the attention of the establishment this is what I got: Surprise the Owner answered, after letting her know I was a Humana customer she was rude, saying we are not taking any more clients, I told her , "I don't want to be your customer" I just want you to know some important information, she bec got angry and kept interrupting me, would not let me speak and she would not listen to me, she got more angry, I tried to continue to tell her the fact that , $90 per hour with a 10 % discount was higher than the rate of $60 from message Envy or a starting price of $45 from the Kailua message school, she did not want to hear me, but because of her behavior, I told her , "if you don't listen to what I have to say, I will write a review about you" her nasty behavior continued, I said that's it I am going to write a review about you and YOU ARE GOING TO LOVE IT! it is shameful for this type of business to use such a large company like Humana, for their benefit, they are actually using Humana to offer their services, to use their name and refer customers to them at a discount rate, IT IS NOT A DISCOUNT, it is abuse of seniors and their pocket book. A New Decade and New Year has started and I can't help but gush about how much health restoration and maintenance that Dr. Michelle Hill has helped me through. I started seeing Dr. Hill, during my working career, when I was a bundle of stress and was suffering through several post-operative procedures (wrist, shoulder and knees). At each visit, Dr. Hill was able to pinpoint and release/relieve my aches and pains (well, sometimes it hurts more at treatment) BUT, I always walked out of the clinic feeling more relaxed and in less pain. Along with chiropractic adjustment or manipulation, she has used various alternative and complementary medical treatments on me such as massage, cupping and acupuncture. I have total confidence in her knowledge and techniques. Checking in for your appointment is easy and fast. Each patient is assigned a patient account number which you enter into the digital tablet located at the reception counter. There, you can select the points of pain or discomfort as well as level of pain on the human diagram so that Dr. Hill will have a "map" to your symptoms to focus on. But, even if you've selected "No Symptoms", Dr. Hill will find something which you might have overlooked and you'll feel better when she works on you. Once your information has been entered, just take a seat in her spacious lobby and you'll be called in shortly. What I really like is that Dr. Hill has ALWAYS taken me ON TIME! I've never stressed about waiting for my appointment time. Just being in her newly renovated office and clinic gives one a sense of tranquility and being in touch with the natural beauty of Hawai'i. Her treatment rooms overlook the Kawainui Canal and Lanikai Beach. Sometimes you can see or watch canoe paddlers or wind sailers as you wait in the treatment room(s). Dr. Hill and her staff are friendly and professional. Leilani is Dr. Hill's office manager and she can assist you through any billing issues and/or insurance claims. Last week was my first time to the office. the staff was very friendly and helpful. I came in for severe pain to my lower back. Mr. Brian Kane seemed positive to help but after a couple of days I started to have a red rash in the areas he massaged as it has spread. I am very upset as I will have to go to the doctor to fix this. I will not use Mr. Kane again as I can't trust this won't happen again. read more

Again another wonderful experience by Rachel. She or the clinic staff must have totally read my last review because the massage was on point. This time I filled out an intake form, they must have forgot last time since I arrived right on time instead of a few moments early. I was offered my hug pillow. And there was only communication about the massage. The massage itself was fabulous! Even better than last time. There was immediate attention to my number one problem area and extra time spent on my secondary problem. While Rachel worked on my arms she even put an oshibori behind my neck to warm it up for the neck massage. I did not even realize my neck was that tight. After the massage Rachel even gave me pointers for how to correct things that might be contributing to my problem areas. I saw Dr. West yesterday for the first time. Let me start off by saying the staff there is wonderful! The ladies at the front desk are so great, so pleasant. I'm currently 21weeks pregnant, pretty petite my whole life so adding weight is taking a toll on my body. Windward Wellness is located in Aikahi right across the street from Aikahi shopping center. It's easy to get to and they have lots of free parking. The front staff are always friendly, they greet me by name, and do an awesome job at both knowing what I'm coming in for and scheduling me for my next appointment when I leave. They also send text reminders before upcoming appointments which is very helpful for people like me who always forget. I suffer from degenerative disc disease in my lower back and it causes pain and tightness ranging from a dull ache to full blown stabbing pain. I was referred to this clinic by my insurance however I am now very pleased with the care I receive here. Dr. Tara Tedrick is a wonderful chiropractor in that she has lots of knowledge and always explains what and why she does certain things. She also provides me with exercises and stretches that I can do at home to help with my condition. She genuinely cares about me and my health and I have recommended her to all of my friends. Dr. Rachel Motta is also a chiropractor however I started seeing her for acupuncture about two months ago. She is also very knowledgeable and does a great job of explaining where and why she places each needle in the spots she picks. She also gives me advice on how to care for my back and prevent injury through exercises and stretches. They have massage therapy here as well and can do therapy in that regard. I've gone to see Chris only once so far, but he did an excellent job and I will be going to him regularly. I'd highly recommend giving them a try if you're in need of care. read more

I am so happy that they were able to accommodate me since I had a stiff neck and shoulder tightness. I requested for a massage and possible chiropractor alignment, however ended up needing only the massage. My massage therapist asked me which areas I needed to target so she spent most of her time in that area. I like deep tissue so when she did shiatsu I was in heaven and knew that my issues would be addressed. At the end of the massage, my massage therapist was able to recommend some things that I could do at home to prevent my tension from happening again which helped a lot. She didn't think that I needed the adjustment as well so I appreciated the fact that they are honest and not looking for another dollar! read more

I have been going to Windward Wellness for almost 2 years and I always have a great visit. From the moment I enter the office the girls at the front greet everyone with a friendly smile & welcome. Dr. Hill aligns me perfectly & even worked on a pain I had in my elbow. Active release therapy & a couple of acupuncture treatments and it's been good as new for over a year. I went for a massage with Tiare yesterday and felt brand new! She applied the right amount of pressure and focused on my lower back & shoulders where I hold most of my tension. I started seeing Dr. Tara Tedrick at Windward Wellness after returning home, badly injured from a military deployment a few years ago. I had extreme pain in my low back, neck and shoulders, minimizing my ability to move effectively. Being an active person, this was detrimental to my ability to exercise and stay healthy. As an athlete herself, and understanding the importance of staying active, Dr. Tedrick uses the Active Release Technique (ART) - this is far better than traditional chiropractic methods I've experienced in the past. On vacation here in Hawaii and my SI joint has been out since we left Oregon a few days ago and a ton of pain. Called the Windward office and they got me in in the same day. Great service! From the time I walked in even to the next day (checked in if I was doing alright), Windward Wellness staff was professional and caring. The only down side is that when I originally made my first appointment and had some back pain, I had to wait about 2 weeks before I could be seen. Luckily, the pain went away during that time but I can imagine for some, 2 weeks would be too long to wait. I'm still going back and I would still recommend this place. I had a freak accident and injured my face and neck pretty good. I thought I was going to be disabled because of it. My cousin is a mainland chiropractor and after I told her my symptoms (vertigo, neck pain) she said "you need chiropractic care you have whiplash!" Apparently since I had suffered a minor concussion she told me it takes like 10 times more force to get a concussion than it takes to get whiplash. I found Windward Wellness and Dr. Hill was very thorough, caring, and effective at reducing my muscle strain through a combination of adjustments, cranial stretching techniques, muscle trigger point releases and acupuncture. I prefer to see a good chiropractor and acupuncturist rather than a "western MD" whenever I have any type of ailment and I've been going to Windward Wellness ever since Dr. Michelle Hill started her practice there. I've seen Dr. Hill for chiropractic, acupuncture and active release therapy and she is great at all of them! I love that she can determine which treatment is the best fit for me at that particular time. I've successfully been treated for sinus colds, headaches, menstrual cramps, injuries from a bike/car accident, allergies, sports injuries, asthma, you name it, when something came up I'd see a chiropractor and/or acupuncturist and it always helps me tremendously. In fact, I don't know why people deal with pain meds, muscle relaxers, and whatever else is toxic to the body when they can go get an "adjustment' or acupuncture and be on their way to better health so much faster and safer. It truly baffles me that more people don't seek out these modalities that have been around for centuries and are proven to work! I recently hurt my back and Dr. Hill was not able to see me so she referred me to Paige Markham, one of the other acupuncturists in her clinic. Paige was great too! I was also having some anxiety about not being able to move while the needles were in but Paige made me feel very comfortable, she told me that I could move and she asked the receptionist to come in and just chat with me until I felt comfortable. In just a matter of a few minutes I felt fine, I was comfortable and I even dozed off! Paige came in several times to check up on me. Thanks Paige! Just from that one session the spasms in my back stopped and I felt a lot better. It's good to know that Dr. Hill has other expert healers in her clinic and I would recommend both of them. I have been seeing Dr. Alina for several months to correct some back issues I've had stemming from an injury in infancy. She is by far the best Chiropractor I've been to (and I've been to many). The acupuncture and ART have been helpful in relieving my symptoms- the way the three aspects work together is fantastic. All the stretches and suggestions she's given have been beneficial, and far beyond the reach of advice I've received in the past. After enduring many weeks of physical therapy and taking medication to help relieve my pinched nerve in my left shoulder, I finally sought relief when I visited Dr. Michelle Hill at Windward Wellness in Kailua. Windward Wellness is located in an office building that is bordering the canal in Aikahi with plenty of free parking. This place specialize in not only chiropractic services but acupuncture as well. Dr. Hill is the only chiropractor on Oahu who is licensed to do both treatments. Acupuncture is a painless procedure where needles are placed in acupuncture points in your skin. Once the needles were in place I did not feel a thing. It is an added benefit to receive both treatments in one session as it helps to speed up the healing process and promote an even energy flow. Dr. Hill first adjusts the affected area by working and applying pressure, then she places needles in various areas on my back for 20-30 minutes. Once the needles are in place I immediately feel my body going into a relaxed state. All it took was several visits and my pinched nerve slowly healed and went away. I was suffering from the burning nerve pain day after day for six long months until I had to seek treatment as I found out nerve pain does not go away on its own. It was so severe and unbearable that standing, walking, sitting and driving made it very difficult as my only relief was lying flat on my back. My husband and I saw dr Aleena for chiropractic and acupuncture she's amazing I was having neck and sciatic issues from sitting on a five hour flight. After just 2 sessions I feel great. I also saw Chris for a massage. I am also a massage therapist and I can tell you he knows what he's doing gave just the right amount of pressure and worked exactly what I needed. If I had one complaint it's that they're too far away from Nevada. I would highly recommend this office. Oh and the office staff was warm and friendly. Be prepared for a lengthy but well-thought out review. I have been suffering from sciatica for quite some time now. When the problem first began, I sought help from my general practitioner. He had advised me to take it easy, take some pain meds and possibly try yoga. My life is hectic, as most of you can agree for yourselves, so "taking it easy" really wasn't an option. However, I took the pain meds I was prescribed, incorporated a foam roller and tennis ball in my stretching, and gave yoga a try. Ultimately, the problem seemed to fade and only bothered me every once in awhile. Within the last month or two the sciatica had returned, this time full throttle. Anytime I would sit or attempt to really do anything, weather it was prolonged or just for a second, I would experience a shooting pain followed by pins and needles throughout my entire lower left half of my body (lower back, butt, thigh, calf, and foot.) Since my general practitioner didn't seem to offer much help the first time around, I stupidly decided to just put up with the pain. I eventually sought help from an acupuncturist and a chiropractor in Kaneohe, but that provided no results or pain relief either. I felt as if the treatment wasn't tailored to my needs. Within these past two weeks, the sciatic pain had become impossible to ignore. It began affecting the daily activities of my life such as walking, putting on pants, and even driving. I decided to do some yelp review reading and had come across Windward Wellness, the review that caught my eye was from a female who mentioned that her wife had sciatica and that the staff at Windward Wellness were able to essentially "cure" her. I desperately and immediately called Windward Wellness and was able to get an appointment for a chiropractic adjustment with Dr. Zeal right away. Upon entering the office, I was greeted by Lei-Lani and Tamika. Both were very friendly and attentive to my needs. Shortly upon arrival, I was seen by Dr. Zeal. He asked the basic introductory questions and really took the time to listen to what I had to say, just as friendly as everyone else, and definitely strong! He was able to diagnose where my pain was coming from and was also able to effectively explain why I was having these sciatic issues. He adjusted me, and I almost instantly felt some relief. While driving home, I experienced the same paralyzing pain and it continued in to the next day. Though, I wasn't angry because one thing people need to understand upon getting a chiropractic adjustment is that your body is out of whack, the doctor is adjusting it to how it should be, and your body isn't used to it...so yes, I expected pain. The next day, Rebecca called to follow up with me and see how I was feeling after my initial visit. I told her I was in pain and I guess she could sense it in the way I sounded. She pushed to get me back in the office that day for a look-over. I was again greeted in the most friendly matter by Rebecca and Tamika and was told that I should receive some acupuncture. I agreed, because why not? Anything at that point would be better than this pain. Dr. Elizabeth greeted me and explained that she was going to place the needles in my problem areas along with some vibrating/pulsing nodes. Her bedside manner was excellent all the way through. After the treatment, I felt great. It was a big difference to be able to actually walk up right without limping. I literally cried while thanking her. Afterwards, I continued to the front of the office were Lei-Lani, Tamika, and Rebecca were all relieved and happy that I felt better. I bet they could tell from the huge smile on my face. I left feeling great, only some of the pain seemed to return when I got in the car to drive but soon almost completely faded upon standing, walking, and continuing my day. I was advised to keep my appointment with Doctor Zeal this morning. Today, I was able to walk in to Windward Wellness without wincing at every step. I was adjusted by Dr. Zeal once more and I am damn near the "old me" that didn't have sciatic problems. Two weeks ago, sitting at my desk for too long was impossible, but I'm writing this and essentially feel little to no pain. I can stand up and still feel a little bit of that tingling sensation, but overall I feel renewed. This doesn't mean that I am going to stop going to Windward Wellness though. I feel that I still need some time for complete recovery. I am ecstatic and grateful for these people mentioned in my review because without them, I would have probably checked in to a hospital by now. I've been going to Windward Wellness for years. Dr. Hill, Dr. Aren and massage therapist Rachel are all extremely good at what they do. Both of my teenage boys love Dr. Aren and his emphasis on sports chiropractic adjustments. When my older son rolled his ankle severely at the end of his basketball season - I think it was the treatment of Dr. Aren that enabled him to continue to play in those crucial end-of-season games. My tennis playing husband has also seen Dr. Aren on occasion and Dr. Hill will combine a chiropractic adjustment with acupuncture and sometimes that is perfect for what ails you. My Mom is the one who encouraged me to try a massage from Rachel and I have to say - she gives the most therapeutic, healing massage that I have ever received. I now live in Chicago where it has been more than difficult to find a chiropractor that is dual licensed and one who takes the time to work on your problem areas(i.e. back, neck and shoulder pain). You can trust her and feel comfortable knowing that your condition will improve. She provides sound advice to help you with your diet, exercise, and overall well being. Dr. Michelle Hill did a fantastic job diagnosing and treating my sports related injuries. My primary challenge was pain in the achilles tendon as well as some lower back pain. Michelle took the time to assess the entire system - feet, achillies, calves and hamstrings. As it turns out, the main issue was tightness in the hamstrings which was putting pressure on my lower back and achillies. Dr. Hill is great! She is professional and knowledgeable!! I started going to see her for a pain I had in my left hip. She recommended 8 sessions total to treat my pain. After 4 sessions she was surprised I was not feeling less pain and she thought maybe there was something she couldn't see/feel. Additionally she did not want me to waste my money if there actually was something wrong that she couldn't see/feel. I really value that! At the end of the 4th session she thought I should go back to my primary care manager (PCM) to get a referral to see an orthopedic. I asked her to write a progress note so I could show my PCM her impressions and she did. My PCM referred me to other doctors and after a series of doctors, X-rays and MRIs, and even PT, Dr. Hill's impressions were correct. I had a labral tear in my left hip. The solution was surgery. I wish it hadn't taken 6 months to confirm with the doctors visits, X-rays, PT, MRIs and run around but she was on the spot! Great job!! Thank you!! read more
