This was my first and last time here. I bought the "Acupuncture - Relieve" package for $70. In the description, it said it included complimentary cupping and/or e-stim as needed. I would have asked for it if someone checked on me throughout the 40 minute process, but no one did - not even once. They placed a lamp over me for heat. It felt good initially, but not for 40 minutes. Also, this was the first time where needle insertion hurt. She had to have hit a nerve because I had shooting pain down my leg with one of them. The place had a parking lot in the back which is very convenient and easy to spot. The inside looked VERY clean and smelt of incense. Tai took me right away and didn't wait to get started. I was skeptical at first, but i was very excited. Tai was my cupping therapist. She was very soft spoken and sweet and made sure my first experience with cupping was perfect. She explained what she was doing before she was about to do it. I absolutely loved her. I was super relaxed during the whole thing and it felt like I had a massage even though I didn't. I finally fixed a 20 year old shoulder injury with surgery 4 years ago. It felt great for about a month before I 'wrecked it' again. It has been 'mad' at me ever since. I've tried rest, ice, Motrin, weekly massage, acupuncture with heat, cupping and dry needling. Some of them work pretty well. I regularly drive from Kahala to Kailua as a busy student just to see Tai. She is truly gifted at what she does. From musculoskeletal pain in my shoulders, chronic carpal tunnel and nerve pain in my wrists, migraines, GI problems to anxiety, Tai has been able to help me feel better. I went to AcuOasis for acupuncture and cupping to help with chronic pain in my back from years of playing sports and a badly fractured wrist that has required 2 surgeries. Upon entering, I was greeted by Alicia, who was so sweet to me, answered all my questions and concerns and really made me feel calm about my first experience with Chinese medicine. I could hardly lay still when Alicia was touching my back trying to find where exactly the pain was and where she was going to put the needles and cups. When the session was over, she massaged my back with hardly any discomfort at all! The nerve pain in my hand and wrist has greatly reduced, as well. I found out about this place because they are affiliated with Kamaina Acupuncture. I like how there is more privacy at this location if needed. I came in for a massage 4 days before giving birth to my son. My body was very tense, swollen & just needed a good rub! I had the pleasure of getting massages by Zahava, one of the best massages of my life! She really took her time, wasn't rough (I'm sensitive to deep tissue) and accommodated me with no problems (being I was 39 weeks) I felt like a new person when we were done. My body felt lighter and a lot more loosened up! Alicia and Tai have been my acupuncturists/healers for the past three years, and I can say that they have continuously helped me with everything from sports/work injuries, chronic pain, depression and emotional fatigue. They are friendly, professional and definitely have a solid grasp of Traditional Chinese medicine.
