A gorgeous estate property. Thank you to Seth who gave my friends and I a private barrel tasting. The wines were great and the ambiance was 10/10!!! A gorgeous place and can't wait to come back!

This was stop three on our El Dorado wine tasting adventure and we'd had one hit and one miss. Windwalker was in the latter category. The owners seemed geared up to have us taste everything they had open, whether we enjoyed Chardonnay or hated it or wanted to try the Sangiovese first or last. As soon as we got our glasses, they started pouring from the first bottle in a line of at least a dozen. They seemed very disappointed when we said we'd like to pick and choose which wines we wanted to try. I tried a decent 2005 Sauvignon Blanc and a 2004 Syrah, which was kinda meh. I was having trouble keeping myself from inhaling the sun-dried tomato cheese dip and crackers on the tasting bar, so I had to step outside for a while. (I'm still paying for eating all that cheese at Exhale last week. Lactose intolerance sucks.) I wasn't impressed with this place, but the prices were fairly reasonable. And while I found the wine not particularly memorable, Christy enjoyed and purchased the 2003 Lady in Red. The nicest part of the winery is the pretty picnic area outside the tasting room, where I forgot to take a picture (of course.)

If you can't enjoy yourself here, you're a misanthrope! The wine is amazing, the staff are knowledgable, and the atmosphere is surreal.

What a great afternoon! My sister and I went to Mastroserio Winery in Somerset and Ruggero, the…read moreowner changed my mind about wines outside Napa, most specifically St. Helena. In my opinion, the finest wines in Napa come from the St. Helena area. I am a retired cheese monger and have extensive experience with local wines because I did the pairings for many wineries in St. Helena and other parts of the Napa Valley. Honestly, I'm a bit of a wine snob. I can't help it. Once you're used to drinking fine wine it's hard to drink lower quality wines.I haven't cared for any of the wines I have tried in the El Dorado Wine Country until today. (My previous opinion was based on tastings at Iverson and Element 79.) Mastroserio Winery showed me that it isn't just the terroir that makes a great wine, the skill of the winemaker is also invaluable in the process. Ruggero was so inviting and warm. He even invited us to dine with him. Wonderful weather, wonderful company, delicious food, and REALLY delicious wine! He even treated us to a little solo jazz sax performance while we were wine tasting. I highly recommend Mastroserio wines! There were literally none I didn't care for. The only other winery I have ever said that about is Benneserre Winery in St. Helena. If you decide to go, please let him know about this review

The modern décor is stunning, with a refined European feel that makes you feel like you're tasting in an exclusive wine salon. We originally stopped at Château d'Estienne as a bonus visit after two highly rated Amador wineries, but it ended up being the highlight of our trip. We spent over two hours tasting wines, chatting with the wonderful owner, Rasha and completely fell in love with both the wines and the atmosphere. The wines themselves are outstanding -- beautifully crafted, traditional in style, yet full of character. Every single bottle we tasted, we purchased. It was not only delicious but also a true learning experience about the winemaking process and philosophy behind them. Although it was a very hot day, which kept us from enjoying the patio, the views from the property are breathtaking -- rolling Sierra hills and vineyards that stretch as far as you can see. We're already planning to return soon, and next time we'll be sure to enjoy a glass outside while soaking in those views. If you're exploring Eldorado , Amador County or the Sierra Foothills, do not miss this winery. It's a hidden treasure that combines world-class wine, a welcoming host, and an unforgettable setting.

The tasting room is modern and bright but warm. The same can be said of the service at this family owned and operated winery. Portuguese varietals and methods in reds, whites, and ports shine here. A newer winery with the maturity of experience can be tasted and felt. It is nice when you can hear, taste, and feel the passion for a makers vision like you can at Château ď Estienne. Starting or ending here is a wise choice.

I very particular about my wines so when one I my friends mentioned this spot and it was new to me hey! Why not? Everytime I come here the staff is always amazing and extremely friendly and helpful. I love the events they have here as well especially when they do the Patriotic events. The grounds are beautiful and you can definitely do a picnic here as my friends and I have done a few times. The wines are delicious. There isn't a bad wine I tried yet. They actually have some of the best wines in my opinion in the area. The tasting room is cute and cozy with plenty of seating and popcorn to much on as well. I I truly enjoy coming here and is one of my favorite wineries hands down.
