They SCAMMED me! Please just go Vino is close and so much cheaper. I bought a pack of three single serve champagne bottles that were marked as $7 total, and I was wrung up for $7 (by the nice owner) but the other owner comes out, RIPS OPEN the package to take a bottle and wrings up all 3 for $7 EACH. Cost more than a whole bottle and he ruined the package. He didn't even tell me what he did before I already swiped my card thinking it was $7. Never going back! read more

Windsor has a damn good selection for the size of their shop, and the prices are better than the ones over on 2nd Ave. Just try not to get sucked in by the eminently affordable Fireball Whiskey. Haven't had to use the staff but they seem knowledgeable and they are all very friendly (nothing worse than dealing with surly liquor store owners like do you not want me to give you all my money...). I almost wish I lived closer, alas, I do not. On my trek to the outer regions of Murray Hill I lest expected a decent wine and liquor store and anything else consumption related until I stumbled upon a fair (double knot) Windsor Wine Shop. Sure from the exterior it looked like any corner store that would promote various wines you've never heard of for Dubra (CT folklore) like prices and Dubra itself, but it was shocking to find a legitimate and great selection of beverages. I ended up settling for a fantastic 2006 vintage Grand Cru from the St. Emilion region in Bordeaux for a sub $30 price and it was fantastic! It honestly tasted three times better than most $10 bottles you'll find. Come here, peruse their selection and almost assuredly leave satisfied and then once again upon consummation. Super friendly with a good selection of wine! I'm definitely not a wine sommelier, but I would say I've had my fair share of wine tasting and I'm not completely clueless. With that, this place had many of the wines I was looking for so I'm happy. I've been going to this shop regularly to grab a bottle of wine for my girl for about 5 years now... Never had a problem until I bought a bad bottle... Not that the wine was bad because she didn't like it but because the wine went "bad".... The cork was kinda rotted when pulled and the color was far far too dark for a Chardonnay... We brought it back and it wasn't an easy exchange... The sales guy mentioned the manager would be in tomorrow.... Really....You're not gonna guarantee the quality of your product and offer an immediate apology to a regular customer... You're not gonna exchange this bottle for something different.... A liquor store that delivers. Could you ask for anything more? The minimum purchase is $10 which is a joke cuz who buys liquor that's worth less than $10? Exactly. For a space efficient sized store, they have a great selection of wine, liquor and even International liquor - Soju, shochu and sake. The prices are also very reasonable and they accept CC. When it comes to wine I'm a hack. I get such anxiety when the waiter brings the bottle for me to try. I lamely swish the sample in my glass, sip and the guachely proclaim, "IT WORKS!" That being said, I needed to buy some wine for a birthday party on a Sunday. I lamely thought, "Oh, there will be places opened nearby." WRONG! Huge selection of wines, although missing a few that I think of as staples (Schramsberg line of sparkling, J sparkling). The hours are great, especially when your phone doesn't update the time and you think it's only a little after 10, but it's really after 11. Bonus for having Nivole. If you haven't tried this moscato d'Asti, you need to get your a$$ in gear and get a bottle. If I could give zero stars, I would. I have never been so turned or so mistreated at a wine store, or any retail store in my entire life. I got the NASTIEST look from the woman within the first 2 minutes of deciding between a few bottles of wine. Not only did the woman in there make me feel uncomfortable, but she did not like me reading the wine bottles. It's not like I was going around picking up every single bottle of wine in there, but from the get go, it's like she did not want me in the store. At first I decided to look over it and ignore her trifling act, but a few minutes after that I had an altercation that forced me to walk out the store before I got even more angered. DON'T GO HERE if you respect good customer service. From now on, I'll get my wine elsewhere. read more

A very decently stocked wine shop in Murray Hill. Large for the area, with a good selection of international wines at reasonable prices. The wines are divided by region, and there is an entire alcove devoted to some very obscure Latin America, Kosher and African wines. A large fridge in the front serves up chilled, ready to drink whites. The nicer wines are locked in glass cabinets, but everything is easy to see and the layout of the store is very logical. The owner and his wife are extremely friendly, and more than willing to help you. They also stock a pretty good variety of liquors behind the counter. read more

I was in a rush and so dropped in and although I can't speak to the prices of wine or liquor, I can affirm that the champagne selection and prices are remarkable. More importantly, the young woman behind the counter was very kind and knowledgable. She gave me a very informative comparison between a few champagnes I was deciding between and ultimately convinced me to buy the cheaper of the lot. She could have pushed the $100 bottle on me, but opted for the honest and helpful review.
