Nope, not this place. I was interested in buying a ton of wine from here because I support local businesses and understand what the economic climate is causing undue hardships to everyone. However, when we walked in, we weren't greeted. We were treated like we were bothering them on a beautiful Saturday afternoon. The person working seemed particular annoyed we walked in and now he has to put on his mask while we were in there. I wasn't dressed nicely or anything, I was on my way to a picnic at central park, so there could be some bias on how much I was willing to spend. After looking through the entire store for 5 minutes, we were never asked if we need help or anything. I mean, you would assume every person who walks in would need help, why? Because there's absolutely no organization or labeling, so trying to find particular wines would take all day. I finally asked if they have any Cab Sav, and I was replied with "of course we do. Over here. We have some $20 bottles over here, and some $15 bottles down there." Well, that definitely answers my first assumption about why we weren't being helped. We're not big spenders! You want me to buy these cheap bottles, then I will! Next I asked about Riesling, and then he showed me that. My friend and I both noticed how this guy was completely miserable and unhelpful. Seriously, you don't want to sell anything or make money at all? So be it. This review will make sure of that. I ended up buying 5 bottles of wine. It's also the last time I buy any wine from this place.

I do not live in SF though...I live in the EV, NYC for 30 years...weird Yelp mistake...but oh…read morewell...but seriously, BEWARE this disreputable disrespectful business! It's ok-ish....NOT THAT CHEAP, I thought they had cheap prices until they finally treated me with such extreme rudeness that I found another, far better nearby store with *MUCH CHEAPER PRICES*, at Warehouse Wine & Spirits at Broadway at Astor Place, who also delivers to the east village, POLITELY! However Rudeness is the least serious problem with this business...FAR WORSE is that they sell OPENED, UNSEALED BOTTLES AND NOT ONLY REFUSE TO EXCHANGE OR REFUND, THE STORE ONWNER VERBALLY ATTACKED ME AND HUNG UP ON ME AFTER SHOUTING HATEFUL WORDS I WILL NOT REPEAT HERE. I DID NOT FEEL SAFE OR COMFORTABLE DRINKING FROM AN UNSEALED BOTTLE, THUS I JUST LOST MY MONEY...SO, THE NOT-THAT-CHEAP PRICE BECAME A *VERY EXPENSIVE* PRICE! This has happened to me at least 4 times and silly me, I would forget to check the lid first, prior to paying for it...that part is my fault I'll admit...but what ever happened to the customer is always...or ever, sometimes...right? Whatever happened to showing respect for polite, repeat, over-tipping customers? Whatever happened to taking responsibility for a defective product if you are a reputable business? I think they might be diluting the clear spirits with water to stretch it, and refilling used empty bottles to make more money. It is UNSAFE for the consumer, and a VERY serious legal offense to sell unsealed alcohol bottles in the state of New York. I have now filed an online complaint to the state liquor board who takes this offense very seriously. Bee Liquor might not exist much longer... But YOU CAN SAVE A LOT OF MONEY AND ANNOYANCE BY SHOPPING ELSEWHERE ANYWAY! DON'T FORGET TO CHECK TO MAKE SURE YOUR BOTTLE IS *SEALED* *BEFORE YOU PAY* FOR IT! PS....Here is what you should know about unsealed liquor bottles sold by retail liquor stores in the state of NY: THIS IS A VERY SERIOUS VIOLATION! BEE LIQUORS SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN SO RUDE AND DISREPUTABLE, NOW THEY ARE GOING TO HAVE TO FACE THE New York State Liquor Authority (SLA) Yes, New York State has rules regarding the sale of spirits with broken seals, primarily enforced through the requirement for tamper-evident closures on distilled spirits, which applies to all retailers. Federal law mandates that distilled spirits plants and importers must securely affix a tamper-evident closure or similar device to all bottles of distilled spirits, including whiskey, gin, rum, brandy, vodka, and cordials. This closure must be broken when the container is opened, leaving a portion on the container. Retailers who receive liquor bottles without the required closures, or with broken closures, are required to report these containers to a TTB (Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau) officer. While the specific federal regulation focuses on the initial closure by the producer, the requirement for retailers to report broken seals implies a strict standard for the condition of the product upon receipt. Furthermore, New York State's Alcoholic Beverage Control Law (ABC Law) governs the sale and distribution of alcohol, including the requirement that alcoholic beverages sold for delivery must be packaged in a secure container to prevent consumption without breaking the seal. This regulation is part of a broader framework designed to promote responsible consumption and public safety. The New York State Liquor Authority (SLA) is responsible for enforcing these laws, and ***violations can result in penalties including fines and the revocation of liquor licenses***. The SLA's authority extends to monitoring sales practices and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations, including those concerning the integrity of sealed containers.
