The security guard had me wait in the lobby while he went in to the gallery to turn the lights on. I got the impression that there wasn't a whole lot going on here. It's a good thing that it's free, because 30 minutes of looking at pictures wouldn't have been worth much. And even at 30 minutes, I was still moving pretty slow. When I visited, the exhibit was "Streetwise", a collection of pictures of America's troubled 60's. Capturing images of not just our troubled times, including Boston's "Combat Zone" and close-ups of the Black Panthers, there were also shots of just regular people and places. All in black and white, which gave it a feel of being very like a documentary. Pictures of the pictures are not permitted, but I took that as meaning not taking a picture of the individual pictures. Instead, my wide shot of the gallery doesn't give away the detail but helps you see what you're going to see there. I might come back for the next exhibit, but I think this is a "See it once" kind of thing.

I was so happy I made it out to see what it was all about since I live so close by. Great intimate space, the artist were so insightful and the crowd genuinely appreciated the artist panel and the photography. It was very well curated. Great space, seasoned artists. Well done.

Run!!! If you're looking for a quality built home and a builder that stands behind their product,…read moreEastwood isn't it. Save yourself the aggravation and buy elsewhere. Pay attention to the negative reviews!!! Previous clients are experiencing horrible (expensive) repercussions for buying with them. I wouldn't recommend Eastwood to my enemies. Where do I start? I've been in my home about 19 months. A couple months ago, I discovered that they forgot to add items that I paid for as options. They forgot to put in 2 shower heads and an outlet for electric vehicles. They are working with me on correcting the shower, but it's been longer than anticipated and troublesome. Still working on getting the outlet for my garage. Sadly, I made the mistake of replacing the carpet in my upstairs bedroom only to discover the floor isn't level by the doorway. It's about 1/4" low and it's very noticeable when you're replacing carpet with vinyl flooring. I notified Ginger in their warranty department at Eastwood about the hidden defect. She stated it needed to be 1/2" or more to fix it. I asked to see the policy or guidance she was quoting from. Thank goodness I wasn't holding my breath for the information because I would be dead. Consequently, I'm on the hook financially to fix the issue due to their POOR workmanship. I'm afraid to replace the carpet in the bonus room area, because I don't know what I'll find. I made another mistake of installing molding in a hallway so I had to remove the MDF base board to put in pine boards. Let's just say that quality isn't synonymous with Eastwood. So disappointing to find a patch job. I could have done a better job building my home. The fun doesn't end there. Now, I'm hearing a noise whenever I turn off some of my lights. For some reason, when they are on for several minutes and then you turn them off, there's a clicking noise. More than a few of my neighbors are experiencing blinking lights. Wow, I didn't know there was an option for blinking lights. It came free with the house As for the neighborhood, several of us are working with the HOA to get an outside drainage fixed within the Rock Creek community. Eastwood passed the buck to the homeowners and the HOA. Instead of holding the developer accountable, they cover the issue until you close then it's your problem. An expensive and ongoing one! All jokes aside, I pray every time when we get a heavy downpour because we don't know what to expect. Some neighbors are out in the heavy rain trying to get the water away from their homes. So so sad. By the way, stay away from their Asheboro model if you choose the upstairs option. Every single time my daughter uses her shower and commode, I hear it all!!! Sadly, I found out after I signed the contract so I addressed the problem with the construction manager at the time, Derrick. He said, "I can have additional insulation added to help with the noise." I called Derrick the day the subs were installing the insulation and no response. None!!! So, I hear everything. If you tour their Asheboro model, have someone flush the upstair commode and listen while you're in the master bedroom. You will see what I'm referring to. I'm sure Eastwood is aware of the problem, but has chosen the cheapest way to build. Let me sum this up... Eastwood homes are nice to look at and have great floor plans, but that's where it ends. Before you buy a home with Eastwood using your hard earned money, speak to neighbors that have lived in the community for a while. Don't rely on the reviews posted by Eastwood on their site, because they only reflect the good feedback. Construction isn't going to be perfect, but it's how you handle issues identified by your clients. Hold your subs accountable if their work is subpar. Don't pass the buck to the homeowners!

My concret in front of my steps peeled and cracked As it was blamed on weathering. We have had a couple major issues arise since moving into our new construction built by Eastwood, as well as several minor/moderate issues. I'm not sure who inspects these homes did not write this up. Eastwood Homes should own up to their products. I wish I would have known this before I purchased it.
