No detail has been overlooked. From the decor, to a TV in every booth (you can turn it off if you want) to the food. This a GastroPub - a restaurant / pub that serves upscale food. The drinks are so good too! The selection of all the liquor including scotch is quite impressive! I tried a couple of "unusual" menu items. "Beef and Stilton" - this is a puff pastry with tender roast beef, a little melted blue cheese - delicious! I have never been in a restaurant in Alberta that can actually serve awesome mussels! Windsor Rose has it down, mussels were perfect. I had the short ribs, pretty sure they were melting in my mouth and my husband had the fish and chips - all perfect. Dessert? Oh yes, could not resist. We shared the "Eton Mess" which is crumbled meringue, Contreau, strawberries and whipped cream. I could have eaten 10 of them - so light and tasty. I live in the North West and I would drive from any side of the city to eat there again. It's in the South East in the Walden Community. New building, it's beautiful. I'm not cultured enough to know what "meh" is or means. Sorry. We've been twice and will go again. Both evenings it was very busy, not bad for "meh" food. Over the two visits, we had the wings - enjoyed them, the bangers and mash, really good and pizza which was VERY, VERY good. The service was very good, helpful and friendly. Based on our experience, we will return and would recommend the Windsor Rose. In all sincerity, thank you to a previous reviewer, I really don't like cilantro. The taco salad looked great (ordered by the table next to us) so without cilantro in the salsa,, I'm going to order it the next time. read more

I have now been to this gastro pub 3 times now...... and I LOVE it!! Everytime we have gone in we eat something different. I so far have yet to be dissapointed. We have had the same server three times, which we mentally noted after Tuesday her name is Amanda. She has managed to remember what we drink for the first time we have come in. Last time we were unable to finish our meals and she wrapped our takeout in tinfoil and shaped it into a swan ( a nice added touch). Its great to have some where close to home that offers quality food and service in a welcoming enviroment. We have found our new home away form home! read more

Great food, great service! Love the wings, pizza, butter chicken, Thai green curry, and beer menu. So surprised by the negative reviews. We eat there almost weekly and are never disappointed. Our favourite is the pizza...great crust, tasty and not greasy. Lots of cheese too. They also allow children on Sundays...so nice to have a family-friendly place near our neighbourhood. read more

We were in the Windsor Rose Sat Jan 4th,really nice pub , very warm atmosphere , but we were very disappointed when they did,nt want to serve English Breakfast !!!! its on the menu ??? The waitress told us that the kitchen staff think its not busy enough !!! There,s a whole list of different breakfasts to choose from !!! why is it on the menu ??? read more
