I always in enjoy the food & drink here. Servers are top notch with friendly, quick service. I particularly enjoy the patio in the summer.

Don't get your hopes up. Ordered the philly cheese steak via delivery service. The sandwich i got is only bread and meat. I dont understand how a cheese steak goes out the door without cheese, onions, or peppers. Very disappointing. read more

My wife and I went on a Sunday to enjoy a lunch, we have been here before and have been quite satisfied. This is pub is split into a few areas, two outside patios, a lighter indoor area, and the rest of the pub that has booths, high tables and seating at the bar. (The latter areas are a bit more secluded, and lacks natural lighting). Our server was very pleasant and helpful with the menu. The order was take and delivered correctly, though the Au Jus was not brought out with the dishes, though it was quickly remedied. During g out experience we didn't feel rushed or abandoned by our server. The meals were very delicious, my wife had the Benny off the brunch menu, she said everything tasted very good. I tried some of the green salads and thought that was dressed just right. I had the Beef Dip, with fries and Cesar salad, it was one of the better restaurant Cesar's that I have had (not being made table side, that is). The sandwich was excellent and filling, the fries could have been crispier, they had a bend to them when you picked them up. With two alcoholic drinks, and tip we spent over $61, which I find a bit pricy for the amount of food we got. I have to admit, any pub/restaurant that brings me fries in those little A & W baskets immediately sets off my internal alarm. Considering that the sides part of the menu just list the choice of side AND the extra you're going to pay. An $18 dish can easily become a $24 dish!! Went on Sunday for brunch on the rooftop patio. Noon on Sunday in mid summer, gorgeous weather no rooftop patio open until 3pm????? Disappointed right away. Wonderful server! Biggest regret was ordering from brunch menu the breakfast burrito.Served with chunk fried potatoes, portion of both very small. Looked sparse on the plate compared to the beautiful looking clubhouse sandwich. I had to request salsa and sour cream. Was not informed it was extra cost. Virgin Ceasar delish but same price as the alcohol ceasar special brunch price??? Anyway thought a brunch out would be kind of special HUGE disappointment Cost $41 read more

The worst lunch I've had in years. Soup was Seafood Bisque or Chowder. I swear it was leftover French onion soup with some tomato soup thrown in. Long strings of onions and no seafood but 4 Mussels sticking out. The worst part was the incredible amount of hot sauce poured into it to give some semblence of taste. Or cover something up. A website recommended this place to my friends and I so we decided to give it a try. We got awful service from our waitress. First thing we ordered our drinks. Just to watch the bartender put whip cream on my friends drink and then shoot whip cream into his mouth and put the spout in his mouth. He then proceeded to put whip cream from the can he had in his mouth, on another's customers drink. Absolutely disgusted. My friends ordered wings as a starter and buffalo chicken wraps for their meal. They did not receive their wings until 30 minutes after ordering. Just to receive their meal not even 2 minutes later. When my friend asked for ranch for her wings. It took our server 10 minutes to get it to us, and by then her wings had gone cold. I ordered the 7oz steak sandwich *rare* and received two very thin slices of meat cooked medium. So I sent it back and was told it would be a 3 minute wait, I ended up waiting 10-15 minutes for a new steak. This restaurant is unsanitary and very poorly run. My friends planned a birthday party for me this past Saturday. They had reserved for a table inside but the staff was awesome in saying that we could easily move to the patio upstairs. It is clean and comfy up there and very suitable for intimate groups. The food is delicious!! We all enjoyed our meals. The staff was nice - especially the bartender, who was especially attentive. Our server was nice too, but not quite as personable as the rest of the staff. Quite impressed overall :) read more

When it first opened, I was not taken with the Windsor Rose. There were a lot of kinks in the menu, and there were a lot of areas for improvement, particularly for someone who didn't eat a lick of meat. Back then there was literally nothing vegetarian on the menu. The menu itself has undergone some really positive changes. For one, the breakfast/brunch menu for Saturday/Sunday is actually quite good. Their version of eggs benedict is awesome, and I really really love the vanilla french toast. As a bonus they bring the syrup out in little jam jars which always elicits an "aww" from me. They really are cute. The dinner menu, in my opinion, could still use a little work, but it's come a long way since the Windsor Rose opened. Again, I can't speak to their wings or their ribs as I don't eat either, but they've expanded the menu again and the Mediterranean Salad is actually quite good--it contains roasted vegetables and goat cheese (which really, makes anything more delicious). Overall, I think it's a place that will get better with time and will continue to improve. read more

What can you say about the Windsor Rose? Pretty typical pub fare, I've never sent anything back to the kitchen. Would like to see more bread free (not just salads... Salads are for wussies) options on the menu. The service staff are 'extremely' friendly... or at least the hands of the female servers don't rest that high on my thigh at other pubs. Even the male bartenders will flirt with the girls (and guys depending on their mood), once in a while. The little higher than average drink prices help keep the D-Bags (you know... the flat-brimmed hat worn sideways types) away. The regular barfly riff-raff are a classy bunch with perpetual grins, deep bellied chuckles, with a witty sense of humour. Great place for happy hour! read more

I like this pub because it is pretty close to our place and it has a great beer selection. I haven't had a problem with the food and I've been for brunch on Sunday and had appys. They weren't anything special but passable as pub food goes. They have a couple of nice patios in the summer. read more

Wonderful pub. The decor is wonderful, and the room is broken up into smaller sections for a more intimate feel. The menu is small, but has quite a lot of interesting choices. I'm looking forward to going back and trying a few more. I had the steak sandwich, which was a bit overdone, but still tasty. I didn't have to pay extra to substitute my fries for a salad. My wife and I joined a friend at the Windsor Rose last week, purely because it was close by and convenient at the time. It was our first visit. We were impressed from the moment we pulled up to the front door. Great Decor. Not too dark and not too loud. By the time I selected a table, I had two waitresses say hi and offer to come back before I even had my second foot off the ground in my bum in the chair. A great first impression did not end there. The service continued to be efficient and all 3 of our meals were great. Although we do not live in the community, it would certainly be worth the drive to come back anytime. read more

Nice English style pub. I've been there at least ten times now and never been disappointed by the food although I've never ordered the burgers. Scallops were excellent. Very nice looking pub but meal was a disappointment .. 2 of us had the Thursday special of "all you can eat" pork ribs ... Not very tender and taste not the best i've had. Be careful about this place... we were given a VERY hard time about ordering their advertised Thursday $9.99 sandwich special. The server claimed that it was no longer being offered. I had to escalate the issue to the manager explaining that it was still on their web site (and still is). Only after I threatened to report the false advertising did they begrudgingly honor the deal. Took my whole family there for lunch on Sunday we sat on the patio and waited over 15 min before we were even served. When the server finally showed up she was snotty and did not seem like she wanted to be there. I asked about specials and she told us Two kinds of beer were on and wings. I ordered the beer and when it came it was a 400ml glass for 5.25! When I asked about the size of glass she said that's what their beer ( all of their beer ) is served in. No pints. Most of their beer starts at 6 + bucks and they are no bigger than the wee glass we got. Oh and the wings were " on special " for 50 cents each big deal ! Went to Windsor Rose last night for wings and beer as my girlfriend likes the atmosphere. Have been here several times over the years and it appears that the staff have changed again! All new waitresses and manager. Seems like this place changes staff every 4 months. We ordered wings and beer, hot and salt and pepper and we waited. And waited. Wings came to our table 25 minutes after ordering. The hot wings were smothered in sauce and over cooked to a crunchy crisp. The salt and pepper wings were cooked better but had no salt or pepper on them. When I told the the waitress this she shrugged and pushed the salt and pepper shakers at me! I said maybe the cook could do something about it, she gave me a "don't be stupid" look and asked if there was anything else she could help me with. I sent her on her way. We tried one more flavour to give them a chance at redemption and ordered some maple bacon. Now I pictured a sweat bacon sauce that would be wet and sticky, what came to our table was a bone dry wing with a coating of dust that had a faint taste of bacon, very artificial. It's too bad that there are so many restaurants that are Inconsistent with their service and food. I will be crossing this place off my wing night rotation for awhile. It takes a lot for me to write a bad review. People can have off days and I feel they shouldn't be punished for it. However, like many of the other reviews have stated, it's really disappointing that there aren't many other options in this area. The last time I was there I vowed never again. Extremely poor service and 50% of the meal was completely inedible (Seriously, mind blowing terrible). Months later I decided I didn't want to leave the area so I figured I would give it another shot... big mistake. I seriously had the worst burger I've ever had in my entire life. This thing was rubber!!! It was really hard to bite into and was extremely chewy (burgers aren't supposed to be chewy). The texture was like it was cooked 5 hours ago and then microwaved for 5 minutes before bringing it out. Unbelievable that they would even attempt to serve such a disgrace. 10 times worse than the 99 cent cheeseburgers at Dairy Queen. It also took the server 15 minutes to come by and greet us when we got there. I fully expected that though as that's always been one of my issues with the place. With all the "nooks and crannies" in that place the servers need to walk around and do table checks often, but they don't. The server also waited until we were done to see how we were doing... we were putting our jackets on when she finally came by. The fact that these things are rather consistent says to me the owners are doing a terrible job running the place and in my opinion need to be run out of our neighborhood so we can have a nice place to go eat around here... heck, even a mediocre place would be an upgrade. It's one of those places where you can't wait to leave, and that's not good at all. read more

I've been here a few times and the service has always been really good. On one occasion we arrived after the kitchen was closed and were offered their house made chips and salsa which were so good. On another occasion I had the smokehouse sandwich which was really good and quite filling! Wing night at the Windsor Rose! 35 cent wings (with the purchase of a beverage). My family and I decide to order (for ourselves) 20 wings, Bruschetta bread, Pickle spears and 2 beers. For our son, he settled on a Calzone and ice tea. When the meal arrived my wife and I ordered an additional beer each. Nearing the end of the meal we ask the server for a take out container so we can take the remaining few wings with us. It's at this time that the server disclosed to us that we can't take the wings with us. Upon our request the server brings the manager to us so we may voice our concerns to her. The unprofessionalism that we were met with was unbelievable. It's clear that at no point in time has this individual ever been tutored in customer relations. Not only did she completely ignore our points, she did so by continuously attempting to talk over us. This manager would definitely benefit by attending a customer service course and in turn the restaurant will also benefit by her participation. Not our first visit, but because of this one incident my family and I will never step foot in this restaurant again. Those of you who entertain the idea of visiting this establishment...do yourselves a favour and "read the fine print". read more

I have been coming here for a couple of years and this place only gets worse. We used to love coming here because the service was the greatest part. Funny bartenders and great waitresses. Now you get grumpy staff and the food tastes like it's from the superstore frozen section. It's a shame because it's so convenient to walk to from my house but I'd rather not drink and drive somewhere else that has good food and better service. I've popped in a few times since the change in owners and Managment. What a complete 180. You can tell it is Restaurateurs that took over who actually care about great service, real quality food and customer focused experience. The change in the menu is the biggest change. It's pub grub but nothing is frozen or out of a bag anymore. Fresh and delicious. The revamped pizza recipe is awesome, the calamari was probably the most tender squid I've ever had. You can even tell with the staff they are actually enjoying work! A couple girls mentioned how much busier it is lately. I've had great service everytime. The girls are prompt, friendly and genuine. The general manager was cruising around making sure everyone was happy. Seemed like a number of patrons knew him by name. I think good things are ahead with this change. Went last night and had to leave due to the unbelievable noise level. We have gone numerous times to this local venue and never had the nose been this loud. Our waitress could not hear our order. We asked to have the sound reduces and the evening manager agreed but stated there were "some guys" watching the game who wanted it loud. It was turned down to a reasonable level for roughy 5 minutes when it was turned up again. My partner walked around trying to find another spot that may not be so loud but half the restaurant was closed off for a private function(not hockey related) and the other side was equally as loud and a waitress on that side commented that she also had customers complain about the volume. I believe that there is not only disrespect for numerous patrons but a WHS risk for employees exposed to this noise level on a regular basis. In fact I know that Section 217 of the OHS code speaks directly to this issue and I am sure if the place were tested the volume was much higher than the restriction. We will not be returning for some time even though the food is not bad and the typical service is pretty good. read more

The worst pub I have been in all Alberta. Food is terrible, drinks are expensive and if you seat at the counter you will notice the bar tenders saving beer into glasses that they just use to top up the next order and in what they call beer tasting tray. The pub staff is the most unfriendly possible that you can ever encounter, from the girl who serves you to the guy behind the bar... I live in the area and another pub would be a great asset as an alternative to this low place. my word of advice: avoid if you can... you pay high prices to be bad treated and eat worst than in a fast food! My first time to this pub and everything was going great, our server was absolutely divine. I ordered the beef dip with French fries and coleslaw (you get to pick two sides). However my coleslaw was lacking something, it had no flavor to it. Just tasted like mayonnaise and cabbage. Mid-meal this gentleman approached our table (assuming he was the manager) and asked how everything was, I said it's all good except for the coleslaw. I started to say that perhaps they forgot to add a few ingredients like the lemon juice or vinegar and all of a sudden this guy interrupts me and starts arguing with me that everyone has different recipes for coleslaw and his is great. Umm excuse me, never argue with a customer! Especially since I wasn't complaining about anything, just simply commenting on the lack of flavor in the dish. I was fuming, I would never talk to a customer like that! He then comes back 5 minutes later with another bowl of coleslaw that had an orange hue to it, probably just added ketchup or something. He insisted I try his new recipe (I refused, I don't know what he put in this food). I complained to our waitress after and she even agreed that this man has no interpersonal skills, shocker...I felt bad for this poor woman having to work for someone like that, I tipped her $10. Not her fault her manager is a barbarian. I will never go back to this place. read more

The food has always been pretty good and the service too. But last night they had the volume cranked so high on the hockey game even our waitress couldn't hear what we were saying to take our order. Can't be good for people who work there and have to endure that for hours at a time. I complained to management, they turned it down for about 10 minutes, then cranked it back up again. I couldn't carry on a conversation with the person sitting right across from me and we ended up asking them to box up our order to go and we left. Didn't even finish my beer. Absolutely no reason to have the volume up that high. Hope the owner of the Windsor Rose sees this. I thought this would be my favourite neighbourhood pub, but can't say I'll be back anytime soon. read more

Nice atmosphere, decent selection of beers on tap, and a couple of patios are all positives. Plenty of TV's and they usually have have PPV UFC if you like that sort of thing. Food is ok (but just ok) and the pricing might be slightly above average, but overall for a local pub that I can walk to and not have to worry about driving it's worth it to me. read more
