Shakey Graves (one of my favs) was playing in the background and the two gentlemen in the store were talking beer. I set up camp on the luxurious leather sofa in the middle of the store and instantly felt cozy and at home. And although I didn't purchase anything, the staff is friendly and knowledgable about all the products they offer. Now let's be honest, do I think it's a tad bit hipster? Of course. Should I drop the word 'Lumbersexual' in this review? Well, I just did. However, I'm truly happy Johnson City has a store like this and the folks behind it have a great story. The Fouled Anchor has gotten their flag and planted it firmly on Mount Masculinity and I love it. It is the epitome of manliness and Ron Burgundy would be pleased. As am I. But enough about my shoes as this is a Yelp review about them, not me and my shoe collection. I most likely will never return here for myself. If my kid(s) needs shoes "maybe"... but if I can control it, nope! The reason? Their service. Inattentive robots. Last visit this young fella went around and ask EVERYONE around me if they needed help, and not me. And it's not just this last time. It's like 9 out of 10 visits. Nobody talks to me. Yes I'm Asian, but I swear I speak the same language. She was so helpful that there was no walking pass her with merchandise out the door without paying. So sucks to lose business because of service, but service is very important to me.
