I had a horrible experience today at the JCPenney located in Johnson City, TN and here's why…read more. I and my mom had spent around an hour and a half to two hours looking for needed clothing items and trying them on. We asked the two young girls at the front desk next in the petite's section next to the shoe department, to hold them for us while we finished shopping and that we'd be back soon to get them. They agreed to do so. We came back about 45 minutes later and when we walked in we noticed that they were evidently staring and exchanging glances and smirks. We then waited in line only for us to find out that they did not hold the items and put them back out. Instead of admitting to their mistake, apologizing and offering to help us find the clothing items, one of the girls walked off and the other one shrugged her shoulders, began smirking, gave an attitude, and said, "it happens." As my mom expressed her concern and frustration, the girl continued to smirk and never apologized. We rushed back to the clothing section to find the items before closing time and were only able to find one. I did not appreciate you girls wasting mine and my mom's time and showing no remorse or empathy for your actions. I am a full time college student and my schedule stays booked with classes, internship, assignments, and medical appointments. In other words, my free time is extremely limited. Last month my doctor incidentally found a tumor in my brain so I now understand how precious time is and that none of us are promised tomorrow. You all wasted my time. This behavior is not something to be taken lightly or to smirk about. You all need to start taking responsibility for your mistakes and treat people and their time with respect as you never know what someone may be going through.

Online from Penneys I ordered a pair of Lapis earrings along with 2 bras. Items were not shipped…read moretogether. Decided to keep the bras but return the earrings as the color was too dark. Finally got time to go to local Penneys to return them- was directed to the fine jewelry department. The sales associate was very nice and spent a good deal of time on the register computer trying to find the transaction. I had the slip that was enclosed with the earrings but she could not get the numbers to work. She called the manager who questioned her as to what was going on and the manager curtly told me there was nothing they could do. So much for customer service. I will keep the earrings but avoid shopping JCPenney in the future.

Amazing store and great customer service. I thought I had left a couple items at their store…read morebecause I looked everywhere for them the night before but I didn't see anything in the car that night. Called and they immediately looked up the cameras to find where my items went. It seemed that I did indeed leave with all my items, but I was surprised because I did not see them in the bag with the receipt. The manager Anika looked at all their cameras to help find my items. She even went to look at the outside cameras and lobby to see if I dropped them. I started wondering maybe I should look one more time in the car ...and surprise they were in the car door! I feel bad for making them search so much during a hectic time of year. I'm so thankful for Anika and the employees at Gabe's for insuring that I got my products. Thank you all so much! 10/10 recommend this store!

Do you have a manly man in your life who is hard to shop for? A southern gentleman who loves the…read moreoutdoors but doesn't want to sacrifice style for function? This is where The Fouled Anchor comes in. The Fouled Anchor offers men's apparel, home goods, and camping equipment that is every bit as stylish as it is fully equipped to be man handled and exposed to the harshest of elements. From artisanal beard oil and backpacks with a durable design to mugs and fire starter kits, the urban male who wants to get back into the wilderness can find everything he needs here. They also have locally crafted furnishings and things like handmade ties that give a portion of their proceeds back to charity. When I dropped in to see a friend, it was a rainy Wednesday afternoon. Shakey Graves (one of my favs) was playing in the background and the two gentlemen in the store were talking beer. I set up camp on the luxurious leather sofa in the middle of the store and instantly felt cozy and at home. And although I didn't purchase anything, the staff is friendly and knowledgable about all the products they offer. Now let's be honest, do I think it's a tad bit hipster? Of course. Should I drop the word 'Lumbersexual' in this review? Well, I just did. However, I'm truly happy Johnson City has a store like this and the folks behind it have a great story. The Fouled Anchor has gotten their flag and planted it firmly on Mount Masculinity and I love it. It is the epitome of manliness and Ron Burgundy would be pleased. As am I. You stay classy, Fouled Anchor.

I wasn't able to get a shave there but I picked up some great beard products thanks to the recommendations and a cool t-shirt. If you like the more hipster/urban male (not metrosexual) choices for yourself or as a gift, definitely check this place out.
