Don't know what these other people have as real issues, but we have NEVER had any problems with WFS. We have had our 2 business accounts and a personal savings account with the Bloomfield branch for many years and have also paid off our mortgage, which had been refinanced through them several years back. They have always been pleasant to deal with and have had almost no issues along the way. Good luck with the mega-banks, which we refuse to deal with! read more

I'm divorced but me and my ex had a joint account so I could direct deposit child support for my son. 1) my ex wife's account was hacked 2) They closed the account and said we would need to reopen another joint account. Windsor location told us that we would both have to be present at the same time to open another account. Well, this is nearly impossible since we don't live near each other. I was told to come down with the paperwork even after I told them we couldn't be present together. When I did, they refused to open another joint account even though they had all of the required credentials. What a waste of my time. Guess they don't care about my kid eating. Now I know why they're not recognized by BBB: They're just not familiar with their own policies (their employees need to be trained). You can't tell me for a second that they can t set up a joint account for two people living in different states without them being there in person together. Inconsiderate brain dead employees who can't read past the 1st three sentences of their own policies. Unbelievable. Do yourself a favor and find another bank! read more

This institution is beyond atrocious from their practices down to the customer service. Forget genuine courteousness everything about this establishment appears to be a facade. Unfortunately, my parents as well as grandparents utilized this bank due to their undying loyalty since we've resided in the area for decades. However, my experience being BLATANTLY profiled was the worst encounter I've ever had at this location. The personal feelings I reserve towards this branch are not of any sort malicious but hopefully a learning experience for them & the representative who 'failed' to assist me. I was working within the area & assisted my grandmother who recently had surgery. The request I received was to withdraw money from her account so she instructed me to go through the drive thru, which I did. I was requested by the teller to then proceed inside since not having an account. I found this to be extremely inconvenient & time consuming especially since my grandmother is an account holder. However, once inside I was informed no more than $200 could be withdrawn. The thought to myself said are you kidding? I've been to OTHER locations on her behalf with no issues & the check is drawn on your bank! I felt the time being wasted during my lunch so proceeded to leave & inform my grandmother. Once she was aware she then sent my mom who was a former account holder. The initial interaction my mom received when entering was somewhat the same so she expressed to the teller how she's familiar with their practices & processes. Also stating the reason why she closed her account due to feelings of prejudice undertones from this institute. Unfortunately the teller I believe became overwhelmed & called for the branch manager to further assist. This manager I felt tried to be coy with her apology in response to the service that I did NOT receive but still was able to cash the check somehow that was over $600. Despite Windsor being my hometown, I've never established an account with this institution but based off personal experience as well as reviews from others, not just family. I would NEVER recommend this bank. Especially during this unsettling time when racial climates are at all time high. read more

My mother has her mortgage here and has been a customer for 40 years . They are still living in the 50's as far as customer service and on-line help . Soon I'll be getting her to switch to Bank of America thank God. I'm so tired of working hard to get a company to do their job . read more

They do mortgages backwards. Want you to pay for a full year of homeowners, appraisal and other fees out of pocket before you even get a final approval. read more

As you read this review, keep in mind I've been a customer of them for over 10 years. First off, the customer service at this bank is awful. I recommend never calling the customer service line and speaking with whomever answers. You will not get anywhere. Snotty and rude. Second, they virtually deemed their own Debt/Mastercard useless as of August 2014. They have stated (even on the website) that you cannot use Windsor Federal's Debt/Mastercard at any big retailers as a mastercard for purchases. What they dont tell you is that if your transaction is $25 total, you have to use it as a debt card. They state a security breach has forced them to do this. Yet every other local or national bank has no issues. So, when going to a retailer plan on getting declined everytime when swiping your card. The problem is this. They have no plan to fix this issue, no targeted date as to if or when you can use the card as designed and no care that they have limited people to accessing there own money. Also, good luck finding an ATM that doesnt charge you. Apparently they stop being a part of the SUM network and now you can only use them. Which if your out of town the fee range is $2.50 - $5.00+. Finally, this is not a complaint from someone who has no money in his account and is just angry. I have plenty of money, not as much as I would like, but enough for my lifestyle. I just cannot understand why a bank would do this to customers and then provide no answer and awful customer service. Good Bye Windsor Federal. read more

Crappy service. I went to cash a check from their bank and they charged me $5.00 since I did not have an account an wanted my information first to open a profile. asked to speak to the manager and she was less help then the teller. I use to like small town banks but this one is not helpful at all read more

Horrible to anyone who falls on hard times. My mortgage is through them. My husband was laid off for about 6 months & we fell behind. I have lived in my house for 47 years (bought it from my parents) it's the only home I know. My husband has been now working the same job for over a year. We have been trying to modify our mortgage & they won't work with us. Please bring your business else where. read more

I have had this bank for several years now. I chose them because they were near to my home and a local bank (smaller). Of recently the bank has become very difficult to deal with and offer very little help. They are greedy for money and have become no different than BOA or any of those other large banks. Example: they charge $5.00 for a bank check, that's a little high for a member. $5.00 to reprint a statement. Like the other reviewer noted, they limit the credit purchases to $25.00. Anything over that amount you have to use your PIN number. This is really inconvenient. I send my husband and kids to the store with my debit card and used to be able to have them purchase items without having to give out my PIN. What is the purpose of having a credit option if you can't spend over $25.00? What really upset me was the fact that money deposited in the ATM doesn't clear by the next day. I guess it depends on when they feel like clearing out the ATM. Then they process debits before credits (optimizing the chances of an overdraft). Very shady bank. I hope they go out of business and all those miserable people lose their jobs and have to go on welfare. I really hate this bank and hate their staff. They can all go to hell and kiss my ass on the way there! read more

I'll never be a customer of this bank. I'm 70, cannot drive because of vision and walk to their branch which is 1/2 mile from where I live. I receive social security and military retiree pay and need their service mostly for the ATM machine...keep in mind they are in a shopping plaza with no other bank for several miles. They have ONE ATM FOR DRIVERS ONLY. I have to stand outside in between cars to use their machine. With the Covid lockdown you have to make an appointment to go inside. Their machine only issues 20 dollar bills which I try to exchange for 100 bills. I pay an ATM fee to get their money out of their machine but they will not exchange it for 100 dollar bills unless I'm a bank member...and how did I find this out? standing outside behind a truck in one line then standing in line behind another sucking up exhaust fumes. The teller looked down at me like I was a criminal and dismissed me like a child. I'm a senior citizen and a war veteran and dealing with someone else's officious little grand children. Very dismissive and rude. I can only hope that some other bank takes over befor I leave this area. read more
