Beware of The Nashville Handyman - Unlicensed and Costly Mistakes…read moreI hired The Nashville Handyman, owned by Chad Weideman, expecting professional service, but instead, I ended up with severe property damage and thousands of dollars in unexpected repairs. His crew used a mechanical trenching machine that broke my sewer line, and rather than informing me, they covered it up with bricks, gravel, and dirt, leading to major plumbing failures over time. Upon further investigation, I discovered that The Nashville Handyman is not licensed to perform this type of work, which is illegal in Tennessee under T.C.A. § 62-6-503. The law states that unlicensed contractors may be held liable for treble damages--triple the actual repair costs. Even after being presented with undeniable evidence, they refused to fully take responsibility for the damages they caused. If you care about your home and finances, avoid this company. Always hire a licensed and reputable contractor instead.

The frame was not broken until him or kids he had with him broke it. I had the feeling as soon as he arrived that it was going to be bad because he bought a girl and little kid with him that he made do half the work. He tore the whole door frame down, real shitty I might add and put a dent in the top of the wall. He kept saying, I'm gonna fix it up pretty but instead he tried to hang a whole broken frame up and push it together with a bunch of nails. I could tell that me asking questions pissed him off, but I knew he was doing shitty work. I paid for the door frame and door, but wasn't aware that he also bought dry wall stuff,l because he said he already has that stuff, which I didn't get my money back for. Towards the end of it I couldn't take it no more so I told him I'm gonna take the broken door frame back myself and get my money back, then he said he should do it that I probably wouldn't get my money back. This is honestly the worse experience I've ever had with a repair person. Don't ever listen to google reviews because they lie. At the end he had the audacity to say I wasted his time when he was doing really shitty work. The girl he had with him slammed my door so hard that the knob fell off when I opened the door. Do not use this place if you want half ass shitty work done.
