As a busy working parent who thinks "I can do this myself, but I'll get to it later" I finally got…read moreto a point where I was completely overwhelmed by the stuff in my house and it was negatively impacting my well being. Several years ago, we moved into our townhome when I was 9 months pregnant and life just went by without being able to properly set up the home. My study was a forever temporary storage areas instead of being functional. My living room was constantly bombarded by clutter as we did not have great systems in place. I would panic at the thought of company coming over and then fill up a room to hide the mess. Then I found Lola and I'm so thankful that I did. I had never hired an organizer before so I was not sure what to expect. All I knew was that I wanted someone who was nonjudgmental, who understood my needs and could help set us up for success, and someone who would actually do the work for (and with) me as opposed to simply providing advice and education. I needed tangible results. I got all that and more. Lola and I instantly clicked - it's like having a space therapist (if there is such a thing) and a good honest friend come to your house and help you transform it and reclaim it into a space that feels functional, comfortable, and a reflection of you. It really felt effortless to talk to Lola and work with her. Together, we have tackled each of the "problem areas" to start, but she really helped shape my vision for the entire house and helped me understand how it all flows together in practical life. Notably, she helped me align my values with my living space in a way that truly impacted how I view possessions. And she does this efficiently, which I appreciate. In addition to having an eye for space, Lola has talent in interior design. On several occasions, she has assisted me with hanging wall art and has provided me ideas on functional and aesthetic changes. She's got a unique background and it has proven to be super helpful to clients, such as myself, who not only needs to declutter and organize, but also infuse the living space with a vibe. I finally feel like I'm reclaiming my home thanks to Lola!

We had never worked with an interior designer before, but we knew an expert's assistance would be helpful given the amount of furniture and other decorating assistance we needed. Ali was a great listener and developed a vision for the house that fit both our lifestyle and tastes. She introduced us to pieces and patterns beyond those we would have found on our own. For each room, she provided multiple choices for furniture, patterns, rugs, etc.--at various price points and styles--and made sure that we could mix and match the different pieces while maintaining the overall vision for the room. In addition to her aesthetic talents, Ali was a huge help with logistics--placing orders, securing samples, and staying on top of suppliers and vendors. With the ongoing supply delays due to the pandemic, Ali kept us up to date as shipping and delivery dates changed. Overall, Ali is a lovely person and very easy to work with--highly communicative throughout the process. We will certainly keep her in mind for our future interior decorating needs!

We ventured into the beautiful Stona showroom on Grace Street in Georgetown and were pleasantly surprised to find a marble mosaic that suited our purpose. The Stona staff were very pleasant, helpful and accommodating. The owner, Mert Bakan promptly came to our apartment, took measurements and provided a very reasonably priced bid to do all the work including demolition and re-tiling. One of the things that we liked about Stona is that they have their own craftsmen, unlike many other stone retailers who could only recommend independent contractors whom we then would have to contact to do the installation. Stona provided a full service. Within a week of accepting their offer Stona sent two installers to do the job; small by comparison to many jobs (38 ft2). The installers were very careful removing the existing woodwork, which they refitted and replaced at the end of the job without damaging anything. (Frequently the demolition requires replacing the moldings.) The demolition of the existing floor was done without much disruption and the installation was very professional. Mert Bakan came to inspect the job before the installers left and to make sure we were satisfied with the entire process. He and his staff are friendly, helpful, and efficient as well as attentive to detail from start to finish. We are very satisfied with the finished product and would highly recommend Stona based on quality of materials, professionalism, price and overall efficiency.
