Awful, avoid at all costs, they might have the gift of the gab, but that is the only gift. Charged £800 for a gearbox to my elderly neighbor, only to do a shabby job, he has to go elsewhere to get it repaired properly. read more

Selly Oak Motor Company has an emphasis on quality products but at prices which are not out of the…read morereach of the everyday resident of the area. They specialise in used cars and although at many used car dealerships you would expect to find a load of clapped out old bangers, there is a surprisingly good selection of cars on offer. They seem to have good honest staff which, as such, allows the customer to feel confidence in their purchase, after all buying a car is not a decision to be taken without due consideration. They also offer things like part exchange or an MOT service, so a trip here gives you more than one option and with the offer of finance it may make a car you thought unaffordable achievable after all!

The livery on the side of the building has a quaint 1950s feel to it, which I always find rather welcoming, for some reason. They have a decent selection of cars available, which are parked out on the street during their opening hours. Their window display also has a whiteboard showing their full stock list. Their repair and MOT centre does a brisk trade. As I have a pretty old car I have trouble with it from time-to-time and I always ask the fellas there to take a look. Most of the time they simply offer advice (such as the time my wife left the car without petrol in it.....rather embarrassing!) but on the odd occasions they have done actual work on the car they have always been reasonable in their estimates and prices. Recommended!

They are a shining palpable beacon in a usually fraught area of car purchasing. Every part of the procedure was covered including V5 exchange , taxing the vehicle and just going the extra mile in making sure the whole process was calm, secure and dare I say it enjoyable. They fully deserve the Which Trusted Status that they have attained.

Avoid those cowboys at all cost. Cars they are selling are…read morenot only in bed condition but they are profoundly dangerous to drive. The car I bought started suffering from major defects in the first week since I purchased it. This includes: faulty EGR, traction control, collision control, Faulty DPF, oil pressure. Rear wheels had couple of nuts missing and one of remaining nuts was loose. There was not a single week without any problems. The car mechanic they use : Rasell from K.R. autos needed three attempts and three weeks to clean the EGR valve and another month to replace it. MJC not only disrespect you as a customer but they disregard any legal requirements. I tried to exercise my consumer rights (consumer rights act 2015) and I tried to return the car twice. On both occasion they not only laughed into my face but also became unpleasantly aggressive. I have spent some time (unfortunately after buying the car) to analyse some positive reviews they have on FB. It looks like most of them are from fake FB accounts with no activity. Warrantywise they sell is worthless. And it is used by MJC as a gimmick to sell you some junk. At one point, during one of the disputes, they suggested to use WarrantyWise with hope that I would get a full refund from WarrantyWise if its decided that my car is not repairable. Those people are not unprofessional, those people are dangerous.
