Dont trust them. We were interested in a car. When we asked for a test drive the salesman showed us a document saying that the car had last been serviced at 23,000 miles. The car is a Vauxhall Astra which requires a service every 20,000 and at the date of purchase the car had done a little over 44,000. While we were test driving the car the salesman went on to explain that if we wanted to buy the car there would be a £99 admin charge and that we would also have to pay road tax. When we first looked at the car we had thought that the purchase price was reasonable at £5,299 but we explained to the salesman that with a £99 admin charge on top, road tax and the cost of a now due service it was getting too expensive. The salesman volunteered that if it swung the deal Motorhouse would carry out the service free of charge. Based on that we decided to agree the deal and completed the paperwork which stated that there was to be a service free of charge. When we collected the car we found that there was no service book with the car. The delivery department agreed to get that sent along. After a number of phone calls and two visits there was still no service book. At this I became suspicious and asked my regular garage to check whether a 20,000 service had been carried out on the car. He stated that there definitely had not been a 20,000 mile service done. I asked him to do one since it was overdue. He gave me back all of the old parts which should have been replaced on a service. The service cost us £128.90 and I wrote to Motorhouse twice asking for re-imbursement of the service costs since they had agreed to do one free of charge. They refused to re-imburse us stating that they had only agreed to do an oil service. Given the context of the conversation which led to the offer there is no doubt in my mind that the offer was a full service. I do not consider an oil change to be what the average motorist would call a service. I will write a review on every web site I can find and I will be taking them to the small claims court and reporting them to trading standards for breach of contract. read more

I recently purchased a Seat Exeo from MotorHouse. They offered me a good deal to part exchange and on the face of it, I thought that I was getting a good deal. There were a number of faults with the vehicle which I pointed out to the salesman, who assured me that would be fixed. The delivery of the car was delayed for a week. The communication skills of the staff during that week left a lot to be desired namely they dont bother to communicate. On collection of the car, one of the faults had not been fixed -despite them saying that it had. When I pointed it out, the customer services department told me that they would not be paying for this repair!!The vehicle will not come serviced. You will have to pay £139 for this. Please do not bother paying for the service as it is basic and not value for money.They will charge you a £100 admin fee. On questioning this, they say it is for the cost of a HPI check and to prepare the car. You can get a HPI on line for as little as £8. This is nothing more than a money making scheme. The after sales customer service is diabolical. They have your money and don't want to know. I would never use this dealer again and would urge anyone to look elsewhere. In addition to this, they tried to sell me a warranty, despite the fact the car had a manufacturers warranty still in place. read more

Mazda RX8, blue, was listed at £3500. Put a deposit on over the phone and when I got there the car didn't start and the engine light was on. Furthermore when you shut the door it sometimes made the LCD display go fuzzy with weird characters. They wouldn't give the deposit back EVEN THOUGH on the window it says once you pay for the car you can get your money back if there are any problems with the engine or gearbox. Currently have a dispute open with the credit card company to get the money back. The car has now decreased in price to £2990 and still not been sold. I wonder why.. To see this car, click the link. We bought a car from these after speaking to their sales guy and feeling confident with the service over the phone. When my wife paid a deposit, over the phone, the same guy said he will appraise the car for damage and said there was a tiny burn to a seat. When we went to collect the car, the burn is quite large, there are two dent on doors, the rear bumper has paint runs and the front bumper a paint split. They offered to replace the front numberplate that was also cracked - eventually, they agreed to discount £70.00 for the above damage, which was very disappointing as this car is only a year old and deserved to have the items repaired. This has left us with a poor overall experience of a company not prepared to meet reasonable standard - if we had known in advance of the issues, we would not have bought this vehicle, or asked for the items to be repaired in advance. As it was, I didn't have the faith to leave it for repair looking at the paint finish to the rear bumper. read more

Seem to have gone very much downhill in the last few months. Prior to purchase staff all friendly and very helpful. Although I have now come to realise they will never ever tell you about any problems with the car. After purchase (and getting the cash), they simply don't want to know. I purhased a car two months ago and have given up on the so called warranty they offered and have paid for repairs to be done out of my own pocket. I regret not getting an independant inspection by the RAC/AA prior to buying it. Would have saved me a fortune. The faults, I have since found out, Motorhouse knew about before I purchased, they just didn't let on. I brought a DS3 in August from Motorhouse cannock and was very impressed with such a big dealership. I was left to look around car without any pushy salesperson around. My part exchange was given a good price and the car i wanted was at a good price. I test drove the car before i signed any agreement. I was charged no big fee and the price agreed was the price paid including the monthly loan fee. The service was very good and my car is just what i wanted. I have only had one problem with it which was a light comming on on dash. The car still had 1 years warranty from citreon on it so i took it to them. They were very good fixed problem with no charge. I would say to anyone give this dealership a try they are not bad! read more

I dodged a bullet not buying from here. I managed to get a really good price from them. I managed to get £600 of the screen price. I was using their finance offer. Agreed a monthly sum which set the number of months which I needed to pay 30 months. I paid the deposit and went over to the finance guy to sign on the dotted line. I felt a bit of pressure to sign, so checked the paper work over carefully. They'd added 6 months to the term, without reducing the monthly amount. They said That's what we agreed on.. Err no. Needless to say I walked. Surprisingly I did receive my refund of the deposit though. Very, very sneaky. read more

I have just purchased a Vauxhall Insignia from The Motorhouse Cannock and top marks to the Salesman Richard. I found this car on Autotrader as it was the spec I wanted and one of the cheapest in the country. Living in Newcastle, I didn't want to have to make two trips to their car supermarket, with it being several hours away. Richard was totally professional, non pushy and very knowledgeable. We agreed a price for my part exchange, subject to me seeing the car and them seeing my part exchange. My new Insignia was absolutely as described and I was in the car within 5 days! As other reviewers have mentioned, there is no hard sell and you are left to wonder around the pretty large site to browse in peace. We had trouble deciding between 2 but the salesman, Richard I think his name was, was helpful and patient with us. I've had no problems since I collected my car over 2 months ago and would advise anyone in the area looking for a car to at least pop in and have a look at their choice as many were well below the average others dealers were selling for. read more

Havent took delivery of car yet but due to one problem or another and rudeness of one menber of their staff decided not to go ahead with the purchase of the car and cancelled and asked them to return £3000 holding fee they have agreed to give £2500 but are keeping £500 for, you know dont know what for because all they have done is make a few phone calls, they havent touched the car, would not recommend this firm avoid them at all costs read more
