I also appreciate that the prices are sometimes less expensive. I arrived late after a 15 hr drive. The young man, Dave, greeted me with a big smile. He made me feel comfortable and safe with where I was staying. Traveling alone, I don't always feel that way. Because I was a Wyndham Platinum member he upgraded my room for me. That RARELY happens, so again Dave, thanks a bunch. The room was very nice and the bed was comfy. I like a softer bed. This room had a jacuzzi in it as well...SCORE!! I WILL BE BACK!! They are so friendly, greet us very charmingly every time we see them. The breakfast is great!! The manager here, Bhavim has gone way out of our way to make sure our stay has been excellent. With us staying here for so long, they have made it so our room is always available for us. He manages this place so well and has always made sure we have been happy. At first, we were dreading staying in a hotel so long away from home, but staying here is so welcoming and comfortable, its almost better than staying at home. Thanks for having us and making our stay GREAT!!!! Thank you...also I would like to mention Ronnie has been wonderful too, they really are all great workers..but those two really stood out to us, thank you!

After 12 hour drive want a nice hot shower and bed. Turn on shower and dead fly comes floating by. Then toilet was never cleaned! Inside was gross! Dirt and hair in corner of floor by shower. Dirty used Kleenex, hair and dirt under counter in sink. So gross! Beds were made and there were clean towels. I didn't even sleep on sheets because I didn't know if they were actually clean. See pics. Will never stay there again! Also, never came to clean room or bring more clean towels.

I arrived on a Tuesday at 2pm and they had a room ready for me in the 1st floor. I was greeted at the front desk and told about the free breakfast. My room was clean. The bathroom was good as well as the bedroom and the bed was very comfortable. The pillows also were fluffy and the room smelled clean. The room has a big selection of tv channels and the WiFi was easy to connect to. Being on the 1st floor I thought it might be noisy but it was extremely quiet. The breakfast had a good variety of options and I would say it is just as good if not better than some Hampton inn breakfasts. I would recommend staying here, would go back.

Her emotional intelligence and leadership style are evident throughout the hotel, and it shows in the atmosphere the moment you walk in. Amy's ability to positively influence the people around her creates an enjoyable experience for guests while also fostering what appears to be a supportive workplace culture for employees. The pool looked nice though I didn't have time for a dip. The AC was powerful and the room was decorated with black out blinds that were printed with a canoe - functional and very Minnesota! Breakfast was a bit cramped in the front lobby in the morning and the elevator was a bit outdated but beyond that I had a great stay! If you are stopping here I also recommend getting off a few exits west and driving through town. They have a beautiful lake and some good restaurant options outside of the typical chains over by the hotels.

Unfortunately, the hotel just recently (July 2026) had some water damage due to 6" of rain and some of the rooms on the first floor now have severe mildew smell and so far they are still booking these same rooms. They need to block off the bad rooms until they get the water issue mitigated. Most of the rooms are fine, especially on the second floor. They need to be smarter than this. Our relatives stayed there this last week and the smell was BAD until they moved them to the second floor. I hope the manager responds and has a plan. We will be staying there in a couple months for a reunion....

There was no other window. So it's either choose darkness or no privacy. The kids screaming at the pool were clearly audible inside our room as well and our well past 11pm. The TV channels were completely inaccurate. If you enjoy hard beds and very soft pillows this would be perfect for you. Pluses: we were able to check in early and got our cookies. The staff overall seemed like they couldn't have cared less. I'm used to getting some direction where I might find my room, but not here. At least parking was free and the products in the bathroom were good. The no outside light situation was a huge disappointment.

The staff are all very kind and the rooms are generally very clean with super comfy, firm beds. By the way, their showers have seats built into them which is super exciting. You better believe that after I washed the seat (you can never be too careful!), I sat on that sucker and enjoyed a hot shower for a long time and it was like heaven. The pool is open from 6am to 12am and their fitness center is 24hrs. I didn't work out, but I did swim and at 6am, the pool was empty despite the sold out rooms. So why four stars and not five? 1- There was a large toenail in my room. 2- When swimming, a very large chunk of blonde hair either real or a wig kept following me and trying to latch itself onto my leg. 3 - Hair dryer.... may have been faster to stand my the air conditioner and hold my head over the breeze. 4 - To most hotels everywhere: For the sake of anyone over 5'7" and weighing over 140, please see if budgets allow for bigger towels Again, we have visited before and the toenails and hair monsters were never an issue in the past so don't let that deter you. Still the top hotel in the town.

The decor in our room is super cute, with adorable duvets, a gorgeous orange desk chair and mirror (I'd buy both for my home, tbh), and lots of sensible storage. There are outlets for USB and USB-C charging, ample attractive lighting, and you have the option to close the opaque window shade, a sheer shade, or both. You even get your choice of a soft or firm pillow. The bathroom and mini fridge are immaculately clean. I can't recommend this place highly enough. I almost wish we were here for longer than one night, as it really is so nice. It's refreshing not to be grossed out by a hotel. The woman at the desk was friendly and efficient! I would definitely stay here again if I were passing through. I'm so impressed that I forgot to wait until morning so I can comment on breakfast. I'll do that tomorrow. After a gloriously hot shower with moderate water pressure, we're at breakfast. There is a great array of options. I'm having a banana, Oikos yogurt, and an egg white omelet (a circle of egg white and peppers folded in half--genius). My mom is eating her weight in bacon, a banana nut muffin, and a biscuit with sausage gravy. There is sausage, as well as a cheese omelet and a pancake machine. Lots of fruit, cereal, yogurt, bread/bagels, etc. If you're on Mason City, it's impossible to imagine a better option than this Holiday Inn Express.
