He said he was a tad disappointed in the beer; it was a bit warm. I only had water with my burger. The coleslaw was just so-so. There's a very nice patio area (we ate inside) and I saw that they do live music on the weekends. (We visited on a Monday.) There's an entrance to the restaurant via the hotel and obvs. vice versa. The hotel looked super nice! We were staying at a hotel across the lot and didn't want to drive anywhere for dinner, so we were happy to have the place available for us. Thanks for a nice dinner all the way from Nebraska!

Our order was taken quickly, and came out in a reasonable amount of time. There was a large funeral across the street and apparently the attendees gathered here afterwards because it was pretty busy for a Saturday afternoon. But it was still not too crazy and we were able to have a conversation at a reasonable volume. Lots of TVS playing sports. Some reviews referred to it as a nightclub which seems a stretch. At least in the afternoon it was family friendly.. The espresso martinis were strong and all alcohol. But what I'm used to and not my favorite but we definitely got a nice buzz! The cheese curds were average; the pizza fries were an interesting concept. It would have been nice if the cheese had been melted more. The pepperoni was somewhat spicy. The fries were really good! I truly enjoyed the quinoa bowl. The pork belly was crispy and crunchy and just delectable. It worked well with the quinoa and vegetables. I'd happily eat this regularly. Prices are average. Especially for a hotel, one might even consider them reasonable. It's a good option if you don't want to leave the hotel.

Lots of furnishings still exist in the home and you get a real feel for what it might've been like. You also get a little bit of history of the Hormel family and the empire of SPAM (and more) he built! Definitely a nice complement to the SPAM Museum just down the street. Holly (or was it Molly?) was an absolute sweetheart in starting me off on the tour with some information about the house and history and apologizing for a non-existent FedEx mess. Thanks! There was no other window. So it's either choose darkness or no privacy. The kids screaming at the pool were clearly audible inside our room as well and our well past 11pm. The TV channels were completely inaccurate. If you enjoy hard beds and very soft pillows this would be perfect for you. Pluses: we were able to check in early and got our cookies. The staff overall seemed like they couldn't have cared less. I'm used to getting some direction where I might find my room, but not here. At least parking was free and the products in the bathroom were good. The no outside light situation was a huge disappointment.

Overrall the hotel has been much improved in the last year with much needed renovation. We stayed…read morethere last year and it was great. Unfortunately, the hotel just recently (July 2026) had some water damage due to 6" of rain and some of the rooms on the first floor now have severe mildew smell and so far they are still booking these same rooms. They need to block off the bad rooms until they get the water issue mitigated. Most of the rooms are fine, especially on the second floor. They need to be smarter than this. Our relatives stayed there this last week and the smell was BAD until they moved them to the second floor. I hope the manager responds and has a plan. We will be staying there in a couple months for a reunion....

The tables and chairs look like they came from a 1990 auction. I ordered the house Cabernet. My advice is DON'T DO IT. I am not a wine snob, but this wine was not palatable. I sent it back for the J. Lohr and it came back tasting just like the terrible house wine. After a little investigation, we figured out it was the house wine again. The server was accommodating and the third glass I got was sufficient for my palate. For dinner I ordered the Asian Stir Fry. Again, my recommendation is DON'T DO IT. Stick to what Minnesota is good at, meat and potatoes. That is a much safer bet. The plates my fellow diners ordered looked much more palatable than mine. My dish was basically teriyaki sauce soup with veggies and rice. It was not edible and in my opinion should have never left the kitchen looking the way it did. I ended up having a Kind bar for dinner. My overall experience was unpleasant. However, I think if you order fish, meat, or a salad and you splurge on the wine, you will have an okay experience.
