I always loved all the arrangements I saw from windmill, especially the ones at our wedding tasting. So naturally we chose windmill... And were completely LET DOWN! Our bouquets showed up a couple hours before the ceremony and none of the flowers I asked for were in them, and all the flowers I asked not to have were. The groomsmen had the wrong type and color flower. When my husband went to the florist an he before his own wedding to get the right flowers he was told they didn't have any! Once we got to the reception and saw the center pieces the bouquets didnt look that bad. They were AWFUL! Once again only the flower I requested to not have and only 1 rose head and 1 piece of hydrangea were thrown in a bowl of water when we were expecting arrangements that we even had a sketch of! My wife just recently had one of the most horrifying and unprofessional experiences of her life when ordering a floral arrangement for her father's funeral. Originally she ordered two arrangements but then we decided, as a family, to cancel one of the arrangements and to donate the additional money to the Veteran's Administration. This was the wish of her late father as he was a disabled veteran. When trying to change the order to a single floral arrangement the saleswomen tried to "upsell" and "guilt" my wife. She then said in a rude tone of voice "Can I just tell you something that this is the last thing you can ever do for him". She was on speakerphone and all my grandchildren and friends heard her. As my wife is grieving the loss of her father we could not believe that someone would actually speak this way. Based on this we will never use the services again and will also inform others not to use them. read more

I can not recommend Ernie and everyone at Windmill Florist any more highly! The flowers for my wedding were absolutely stunning. I met with Ernie initially to review colors and overall vibe. As the wedding got closer we went over more details and exact numbers of arrangements. The day of the wedding, they delivered the flowers to my home and then set up everything at the wedding. Everything was meticulous... from flowers in my sisters hair, bouquets, arrangements for the mantels, to the centerpieces and unbelievable arrangements for the ceremony! Everything was more beautiful than I could have imagined. Not only were the flowers gorgeous on the day of the wedding, they lasted for weeks. I live in Boston but have family and friends who live in the Fitchburg area. Over the last two years I have used Windmill Florists three separate times to send funeral arrangements. The arrangements have averaged $75-100 and I paid in full by telephone. Since I have never frequented the shop in person , I requested that a photo of the arrangements be sent to me prior to delivery and each time the request was fulfilled. I was pleased with the arrangements in hopes they gave some solace to the parties receiving them. Today, I contacted Windmill Florist by phone to order a funeral arrangement for a very dear friend who's mother recently passed. As a matter of fact, it was that dear friend who originally referred me to this florist. Once again I made a request to send a photo of the arrangement prior to delivery and this time the self identified owner denied my request. After some discussion; stating who I was and that it was done in the past the owner first claimed "the woman wasn't there to do it" then that explanation digressed into citing " problems of stalking with other people and telephone numbers " I listened to his concern and I asked if he could take a picture and email it. He still refused. In exchange for his refusal, He didn't even offer to post a picture on his website so I could view it. He made no effort to find any compromise or solution beyond saying that I was free to use another florist!!! Which I will. Windmill Florist may be talented with their arrangements but it's owner lacks empathy, compassion and loyalty to repeat business, especially in time of sorrow. I will utilize a business where the owner displays such ugly characteristics, no matter how pretty the flowers may be. I will heed his final advice. I couldn't be more thrilled with the bouquets, centerpieces, and customer service we received from Windmill for our wedding. Ernie (the owner) went ABOVE AND BEYOND what we could have wanted and asked for to ensure our flowers for our wedding were simply stunning. People were even playfully fighting over who got to keep the centerpieces after the fact! They were even better then the sketches I showed him, and he completely understood the vision I had and the look I was going for.
