We're on a plateau here east of the Cascades. As such, it was a great opportunity to stop and release the tight grip on the steering wheel for a bit. Clean restrooms and some fabulous views of the wind farms all around. It's a beautiful part of the country and I'm glad that I was able to see it with such clear skies, even if the temperature was not much more than freezing. It was extremely windy here this afternoon, especially on the bridge over the Columbia River. Be prepared for crosswinds if you're in a taller vehicle. We were in town from the Everett area for our son's select baseball tournament. This was the only…read morehotel in the area that was vacant, not over $100/night and close to the ball fields we had planned to spend our days at. When I made the reservation (over the phone) I asked for a NS room and was told the hotel had been updated with "new memory foam mattresses". When I asked the rate (it showed $39.99 online) the woman quoted me $79.99 for a 2 Queen room for more than 1 person. Now I understand the double occupancy rule but the fact that we were charged MORE THAN TWICE the price because we were coming into town for an 'event' was just crazy. Unfortunately we were at the mercy of their hospitality so we sucked it up and booked. When we arrived our son opened the car door, looked up from his i-POD and said "is this some kind of joke"? I promptly told him that if mom could do it he could too and for him to consider this an adventure. We were booked in room 110 (also our reservation number) which they advertised as being non-smoking. Who are they kidding? This room spells like someone smoked 10 packs a day for 10 years straight. I told them there was no way someone hadn't smoked in there and their response was "we can't control what others do" which I agree with but they can't expect anyone who doesn't want to REEK to stay in there. He agreed for us to take a look at room 108 and said they were booked solid so if this room wasn't going to work he would refund our money and we could go elsewhere. Thought that was decent of him rather than tell us 'tough luck'. Since the entire town was booked I was very pleased to find this room was clean enough and smelt like it had been given a recent cleaning. PROS: Rooms are large with great working A/C unit, cold fridge, phone & working TV Free Wi-fi Memory foam beds were VERY comfortable (which for a Motel is a complete shocker) Front desk was very helpful with directions to the local lake area where we swam for FREE Allows dogs, no fees (with plenty of space behind the building for potty time Has the essentials: shower, toilet, clean towels & bedding CONS: No alarm clock or wake up service No 'free' breakfast (although one morning they gave me a box of doughnuts at the front desk when I went in for more towels) No pool (the lake and free swimming area was just 5 minutes down the road) so not that big of a deal The soap & shampoo was of the quality and quantity of a garage sale from 20+ years ago. The 'hand soap' crumbled into 16 pieces as soon as I opened it. Overall I give it a C+. The people running the show were nice, polite and helpful. It's a motel in Moses Lake so don't expect much but it was quiet and comfortable which was all we had hoped for.

It's a pretty standard motel that has had very limited updating over the years. The shower is hot and the bathroom is relatively clean. Some rooms have newer beds than others. If you get a room with one of the old beds, it could be in for an uncomfortable night. Pluses: Lowest rates in town Allows dogs, no fees rooms are large Has the essentials: shower, toilet, clean towels & bedding Ample space behind the building for airing dogs Minuses Dirty carpet very little maintenance in rooms Often full, sometimes will not take reservations A/C and heat sometimes hard to control (either crazy hot or freezing)

This is an older motel (2 floors; all room doors face the parking lot) with a mix of things that work and things that don't. The beds and general state of the room was very clean upon arrival. A heater in the bathroom kept that area toasty warm. There was a modern HDTV with cable. Plenty of washcloths, towels and a hair dryer were present in the bathroom. Both beds were decent in terms of comfort but they were more like full-sized than queen-sized. Despite being located just off the freeway, the ambient freeway noises were barely perceptible. Soap, shampoo, and conditioner were offered in tiny, sample-size packets which were tough to open. The mini fridge had a distractingly loud operating hum to it. Some of the decor (I.e., paint on the wall) was DIY to a distracting level. The bed frame platforms were made of metal and made 'clang' sounds when you walked around the bed and your feet got too close and happened to kick them. We checked out early in the morning at the front desk, which is also where they offer coffee and some mini-treats like packaged Hostess Donuts and pastries. The staff were very friendly and helpful during our interactions. For a nightly rate around $90 (about what we paid), it was better than expected for a budget overnight stay.

I'll probably never stay here again. This room seems like one of the rooms that you avoid filling until you're almost full and not one you place one of your first guests into (when there's hardly anybody else here). My replacement room was a little better, but it sort of smelled like cigarette smoke. I believe this place is under new management, and in their defense, they do seem to be renovating the upstairs rooms. I may give them another chance after I think they're finished.

We got a room with two beds separated by a partial wall to create the feeling of two separate bedrooms. There was also a decent sized mini fridge, microwave and table and chairs. We stayed on the second floor with a view of the water from the room. This room must've been remodeled because everything looked modern. I would definitely stay here again! It worked out really well for two adults and two small kids. Also on the property are picnic tables overlooking the water for you to enjoy a snack or a meal.
