I bought donuts in the evening, but before I did I asked the woman what time they were made. I understand how long the freshness lasts and how I like them. She said they had been made within the last 4 hours. I spent nearly $25 on some donuts that I was told were 4 hours or less old. When I got home I found they were very stale and some were crumbly and some were gooey in spots like old donuts get. I don't like being lied to. When I walked in I was greeted by the workers they were very nice and polite when taking my order. I got two ham and cheese croissants which were 6 dollars each. When I got the croissants they were a bit underwhelming since the ham was cold and so was the cheese it seemed like they heated the croissant up and just shoved ham and cheese inside of it for six dollars it was underwhelming. Another gentleman walked in after I had been standing there for 5 mins and a worker came from the back to take his order.... Completely ignored me who had been standing there for at least 5 minutes... I'm 8.5 months pregnant and just wanted something to eat after my appointment and I decided to leave since I was ignored... she greeted the gentleman in Spanish so I'm not sure if it was because I was white and she didn't care to serve me? Came in today to order a tuna on jalepeno and cheese bagel no tomato, they put my sandwich on the wrong bagel. No biggie they get the right one but the time it takes to toast it is ugh! Anyway they get it and she throws away the top of my bagel! I said the bagel that your working on give me the top I don't care. They didn't understand, I said get that top bagel that's already made and call it a day. They won't do it they toast the bagel again now 10 minutes passed. I bring my daughter here for her donut holes when we're conducting business on this side of town. The customer service is always great. Everyone is super friendly. However, both times I've gotten something for myself, I was less than pleased. I got a blueberry and cream pastry that was hard, greasy, and bland with so little filling, I had to just throw it away. The filling was literally an optical illusion. It was almost bare inside. Today, I got donut holes like my daughter, and they were dry, tasted of old grease, hard, and they were SUPER stingy with the glaze. I made myself eat 3 and closed the bag. Do you like donuts, I do. Winchell's lands right in the middle of the donut world. Nothing over the top crazy but nothing terrible. Plus they are 24/7, I can get a donut whenever I want. Stopped to get breakfast and ordered bacon eggs and cheese sandwich on a plain bagel and a tuna wrap. First they forgot the bacon on the sandwich and when I asked for the bacon they took that I had already opened and touched and threw the bacon on top m, the egg was horrible it looked and tasted rotten. There was way too much pepper on it and something else that I can't even tell what it is. The tuna wrap was swimming in mayo and tasted like old tuna I only took two bites and trashed the rest.
