this guy is the best, always helps me with my health and is very kind. I recommend him over anyone.

Been coming here since I was a baby and now I'm in my 20's. Super sweet and informative doctor who has your best interests. Oh and a huge sticker collection of any cartoon you could ever want. He has always had a ton of patients (tbh, mostly Chinese kiddos). So he knows what he's doing. And as an added bonus, he speaks Cantonese! Only complaint is that the office is the office seems like it hasn't been renovated since it was established so it looks like it's from the late 1990s. read more

Very professional and straightforward. Very caring and proficient. Dr. Quock won't give children unnecessary treatment or medication. Trying to offer appointment whenever you need. The only pediatric would visit a newborn baby's house for a first check-up. My daughter has been his patient since she was born. Highly recommend him. read more

Dr. Quock is very sweet and chill. He does the first newborn visit at your home so you don't need to worry about carrying your newborn around while recovering! He is off Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday but he has a after hour line if you need to reach him when he is off and he call back fairly quickly. read more

We love Dr Quock, he's great! I have 3 kids that go here so I come here pretty often. We are always able to squeeze in on same day appts if it's an emergency and the Dr is friendly. My toddler loves the fact that he carries stickers in his pocket and let's her pick one before she leaves. I also noticed he washes his hands between each and every appt, (which he should but sometimes ppl don't) l so appreciate that. read more

We love Dr Quock, he had us at "Hello" at our newborn house call. That was 13.5 yrs ago! I figured any doctor who understands the stress of having an infant at home for the first time would be a thoughtful and caring pediatrician. Even though we live abroad, we sometimes come back and see him for vaccinations and he's as funny and wonderful as always. He's a gem for the Richmond community of San Francisco ~ Russell W's mom read more

Like I said in my previous review, Dr. Quock is an old time doctor that puts people's needs over profit. During the holidays, one of the kids got sick and even though he was suppose to close early on Xmas eve (2:00), he still accepted our last minute appointment and told us to come on down. While we were waiting for our turn, it appears a lot of other parents were calling in trying to squeeze an appt on Xmas eve and the staff told them to come too. Even though they didn't have to, Dr. Quock and the staff did not turn anyone down or tell them to go to ER. That's customer service for you. If you went to a "newer" pediatrician, or heck, any doctor that is practicing right now, they would tell you to head over to ER-hell instead of giving you the courtesy of an appt. This is not the first time we called and got a last minute appt. Dr. Quock and his staff always agreed to see us. For the person who has an issue w/ how Dr Quock responds to questions, please, he is not the type of person that will hand hold or molly coddle new parents. He tells it like it is. No bs from him. He works for us because we didn't expect or want candy coating. read more

My brother and I grew up visiting Dr Quock's office since we were kids. Now that I have my own daughter I feel way more comfortable bringing her to familiar faces. Dr Quock still did the at home visit for our new baby and followed covid protocols. read more

We love Dr Quock, he has been our childrens pediatrician since they were born and were are still happy. He is great and respects our choices, pretty old school and straight to the point. We can always get ahold of him, different hours, weekends, thru voicemail system he immediately calls back. We appreciate all that him & his staff do for us ;) read more

Winchell W Quock, MD - Pediatricians Near Me - San Francisco, California

He is definitely one of the best doctors/pediatricians in San Francisco. He did the home visit after the baby was return from the hospital and it was a big relief for the first time parents. He is pretty funny and always on point. We highly recommend him! read more

As a doctor, he's good on one hand but bad on the other. We had him as my daughter's pedi for the first 2 months. First of all, he's very nice to make house visit for newborn the first week. It makes a new family more easy not to take a newborn out and get into a clinic that maybe full of germs. I was told by a nurse in the hospital that he's the only doctor who would offer that to newborn in SF. However, he's always in a rush when we visited him in the clinic. He was not really considerate to ignore the questions of a mom of a newborn. He kept saying that it's normal for a baby to cry when she's so hungry but refused to be nursed. I wondered if it's the nursing position, or if she's sick, or if there's any way to improve the situation. But, his answer was that it's normal and it must be that I made her to be nursed that made her cry. Does it make sense? At least, it won't convince me. He also forgot to fill out my daughter's immune card 2 times!! I brought my daughter to see another doctor and she was just so shocked that my daughter's card showed no record for the 2 shots that she must have in the 1st and 2nd month. But since I have remembered that Dr. Quock had given her 3 shots and 1 oral vac that we sort of believed that my daughter had what she needed to have. I believe that Dr. Quock is very experienced and he's a good doctor but we just do not have confidence to keep bringing my daughter to see him any more. One of his clinic staff (the thin tiny one with a pair of glasses) is very very nice and helpful. She tried her best to sqeeze me in the schedule when Dr. Quock's day was so full with appointments. But, another younger fatter one was really rude and just concentrates on her conversation with other staff all the time - it seemed that we have bothered her when we were there. read more

He does little to alleviate any concerns or fears that you may have of your sick child, especially if you are a new parent. His answers to your questions appear flippant and condescending at times. "Hey, kids always have fevers..." He fails to explain or comfort. Although I've heard that he makes house calls to new infants, he sometimes complains about his work hours to visitors. Not very professional at all. He is a doctor who is tired of his profession, and seems no longer to enjoy it, unfortunately. Also unfortunately is the fact that he is one of the few doctors in the area that can help parents who speak Chinese. So it's basically a no choice decision. read more

Dr. Quock and Dr. Liao are excellent pediatricians! Dr. Quock knows his business. It's fun to watch him interact with my girls when they were babies and now. He always pays respect to my grandmother if she is along. Dr. Quock also makes housecalls for newborns as some Chinese are known to practice that age old superstition by staying home for about the first 30 days. When my cousin had her first baby, she was living in San Mateo. He drove all the way out there. Dr. Liao is extremely thorough in her explanations. If it's a situation that needs follow up, she always remembers to call to check up on my daughter. Both doctors are fast in giving the kids shots and plenty of stickers to give. They have one of the most noble jobs in this world and get so much crap because kids usually hate shots and cry. read more

I had to look up Dr Quock today so that I can get my immunization records and see what else I need for an upcoming trip to South Africa. Being in my early 30s, it makes me happy to see that my pediatrician is still practicing after all these years (and highly rated on Yelp!). Judging from the pictures that other Yelpers posted, the office still looks the same. My heart is smiling from the memories. More importantly, from what I remember as a youngster, I didn't dread seeing him so I must've liked him! read more

My kids have been seeing Dr Quock for several years now and love the efficient ness of receiving last minute appts and the straight forward answers we get here. The staff remembers our names (which means a lot) and are super nice. We did use to go to Dr Carol Lee for a lot longer and no one there new our names or were able to fit us in for last minute appt. FYI Dr Quock always has a pocket full of stickers for the little ones to warm up to him during the appt. My 2 year old loves that aspect of the appt. =) read more

He is overall a very good doctor. When my daughter was born he made regular house visits. He also let me decided how to have my child vaccinated so that she wasn't getting alot of shots all at one time. The staff there is really nice and friendly. I really liked his practice. With all of this said.... When you need a doctor to take care of more pressing medical issues like the possibility of your child have asthma or bronchitis I would say his service as a doctor is sub-par. He doesn't like if you have a different opinion than him. He lectured and yelled at me on the phone because I don't trust his medical opinion and wanted a second opinion. I would say if you never plan on ever being really sick and you don't mind being talked down to, then he is the doctor for you. read more

Dr. Quock is always super nice to me and my family whenever my kid brother needs to visit. Dr. Quock has always been a fast worker. It gets busy at his office, so he has to be quick; but with his speed comes thoroughness. So stop complaining about how fast he runs through his appointments. Instead, step aside so he can save the next child since he's already done saving yours! Keep on keepin' on Dr. Quock. read more

My kids are now 13 and 14 and have been patients of Dr. Quock and Dr. Liau since they were born. Both had home visits by Dr. Quock as newborns. They have both seen both Dr. doctor's, which is something I like. They always fit you in. I have showed up without calling, with my sick child and they always fit us in. They are no nonsense. If you are looking for a warm fuzzy doctor, Dr. Quock is not for you. He is not going to hold your hand and coddle you. Some people need more of that. If you want someone who is smart and knows what they are doing, and will give it to you straight, he is your guy. Dr. Liau is more of the warm, fuzzy type. The kids see both of them. They are both great doctors. They talk directly to the children about everything. Recently Dr. Quock talked to my 14 year old about her period and teen pregnancy, etc. It was great to hear important info coming from a doctor. Some kids do not get any of this at home, so I was glad he touched on these things, in a very , simple appropriate way. I find the parking is always easy to find, it is just metered. I love these doctors, they are always willing to fill a prescription and see my children when needed. The Sat. appts are also great. We love this office. The front desk is also great. read more

He has been my go-to doctor since I was a toddler. I'm in college now and I still go back to him. He's very kind, and polite with all his patients, and he doesn't let you leave uninformed about anything. He is very well educated and a family-oriented doctor. My mom always asked him question after question about miscellaneous things and he would answer everything despite other patients waiting to see him. read more

I recommended to Dr. Quock by Judi Tinkelenberg, nurse midwife, at Sage Femme Midwifery. As a new parent, I was relieved by Dr. Quock's caring and informative manner. He even came to my home for my baby's first appointment just home from the hospital. This was a great help since I was recovering from a cesarean delivery. I was particularly impressed that he held my daughter to comfort her after she had her first immunizations. I always left with suggestions on how to care for her in the next stage of development. Sadly, my family and I had to move to San Jose. We miss him already. read more

Extremely knowledgeable and has the ability to put a worried parent's mind at ease. He takes the time to explain things to the parents, and is never condescending. Wonderful doctor. read more

I am now 25 years old and I have fond memories growing up and going to Dr. Quock's office as a kid. As Judith T. mentioned, many people bring their kids to see Dr. Quock which include my mom (I'm from Marin county..30 minutes away). With my many visits (vaccinations, shots, etc) I always remembered Dr. Quock's warmness and smile. Great pediatrician...I would go back if I was still in the bay area (even at age 25). read more

I am almost 21 years old and I still go to Dr. Quock. If he's not telling me to find a new doctor, I'm not leaving. Call me stubborn, but I just refuse to go to a different doctor, he's been my doctor since I was born and he knows me best. If you're looking for a sugar coating super comforting doctor, Dr. Quock is not the doctor for you or your children, he definitely tells you how it is. Although he runs through his appointments super quick, he gets what he needs to get done, done and he answers all your questions. His staff is also really friendly :) read more

Consistently impresses us, professional, and down to earth. He's patient, quick, and obviously knows his stuff. His office has the flexibility of a seasoned grandparent. :) Good with overanxious new parents. Sold since the home visit after the birth. A pediatrician in his prime. A+. read more

We love Dr. Quock! He's been the sole pediatrician for both our little ones. The home visit for the birth of our daughter was so nice and reassuring! He's always been pleasant and thorough, even when very busy. He is very good with the kids as are the receptionists. Everyone is a sweetheart there and you can just feel the genuine care for kids and their health issues. He's fairly straight to the point in a good calming way, yet always entertains all our craziness and bizarre new parent questions. We've had to call Dr Quock in the middle of the night or weekends a handful of times and he's always up for the task of giving you good direction, or most likely calming you down in times of high fevers, rashes, etc. The office has always found ways to squeeze us in without long waits even for last minute appointments. We've had our own issues with our insurance changes in the past, but they've always handled our frustrations with patience and we always figured it out. It's our choice to only give our kids one vaccine per visit over multiple visits, which they respect and accommodate. Due to our circumstances we've had to cancel appointments the day of and even missed one or two, but they rescheduled us without worry. If there was any specific urgent worry, they always fit us in that same day. read more

Dr. Quock has been our daughters doctor since she was born July 2006. Our first visit was a home visit, which is how he sees all new Born's in the first week. I have never had a problem getting an appointment and have found his office staff pleasant. More recently I have seen Dr. Liau who is extremely thorough. I highly recommend both doctors. read more

Dr Quock was a really friendly doctor and my child liked and felt very comfortable around him . However his equipment is a little dated and it'd be nice if he had more modern equipment. He is professional and informative. read more

We have been going to Quock and Lieu for 5 years. We were first referred by our midwife because he makes the newborn home visit. I have never had a problem making an appointment, even short notice. Both Drs are great and will answer any questions or concerns. Lieu moves a little slower and takes a bit more time, but both take care of business and set you on your way. Recently Dr. Lieu was great to cue a nurse to distract my 5 year old so we could talk about bed wetting without him around. She put me at ease and addressed all of my concerns. (They are also flexible around delaying/ using alternate vaccine schedules.) read more

He's fine until there is a problem with you child. If weight and measurements were all there was to having a new baby, he would be fine, but missing a diagnosis and then joking about it, is not professional. Besides that, his staff, at least one, is very very rude, condensending. Will not be going there any longer. read more

I really appreciate that Dr. Quock does home visit for newborn babies' first appointment. Also, they open on Saturdays until 2pm.
