I purchased an OTTB from Win Row Farm and had a prepurchase exam done, except for x-rays, as I was assured by Amy that the horse was returned from the track (being told that this was one they had initially bred) only due to the fact that it was too slow and not interested in being a racehorse. The then-owner brought it back to Amy hoping it could have a second career as a hunter. The gelding passed the vet exam, bloodwork and flexion test, so I purchased him. I live out of state and had him shipped to me.
The horse has had lameness issues shortly after purchasing. I've had him now for several years, had him on glucosamine/hoof care supplements for several years, glucosamine injections monthly now and now powdered bute. He's been x-rayed and found to have bone chips.
I've tried to contact Amy by phone leaving a voice mail several times and texting her, and also emailing to see if there had been any previous x-rays performed being requested for review by my vet. NO RESPONSE!!! I then tried contacting her husband, Chris, by several methods. Again, NO RESPONSE!!!!
This shows me they are not responsible horse sellers! I definitely do not recommend them. read more
