There is only drama here because we have so many mares and they are very bossy and pushy sometimes, but that comes with the territory. DRAMA, DRAMA, DRAMA...Constant bickering and fighting. Unfortunately, there's not much good to say about this farm. I have been a boarder at this farm for several months now and while it's a beautiful horse facility the property manager lacks any type of business sense and decorum. She feels free to use profanity very freely while attacking boarders accusing them of things that have not happened. Her lack of basic horse knowledge is shocking including not being aware of Coggins and Potomac virus. Any boarder who exhibits knowledge of horses and horse management WILL be run off the farm. read more

My horse has lived at Glenview Farm for several years and I can tell he's truly happy here. There is plenty of pasture space available which my guy really enjoys in the summer. The outdoor arena is spacious, and the race track on the back of the property is open for use as well. There are also several trails that lead from the barns to Todd's Fork. This is a great facility, especially if you're looking for a self-care opportunity in which there are several amenities available. read more

A breath of fresh air has come to Glenview Farms!!! Curtis and Emma have changed the hostile environment to an amazingly pleasant and easy going barn to board your horse(s) at!!! They come to you with a smile and address you by your name, they ask if there is anything you need or they can do for you. There is information about every horse that is boarded there on boards thru out the barns, doors which were once closed are now open to allow fresh air to circulate through barns, fencing is fixed or being fixed. All in all the barn is such a pleasure to some too and take care of your horse. I highly recommend if you are looking for a nice pleasant barn, come and talk to Curtis and Emma and discuss your needs, you won't be disappointed!!!!! read more

I decided it would probably help people best if I made a Pro and Con list of the property for readers so they can make their own choice about the barn instead of me telling you what I think of the facility. At the end of the list I will have my own personal opinion. Pros: Trails- there are trails in the back of the property. Farrier Coordination- Barn manager coordinates when farrier comes Cheap Board- $350 for board Fly mask Application- she will put the mask on before turn out Shots- Manager offers to administer shots to your horse at shot price Lean lots- for easy keepers Cons: Outdoor arena conditions- Outdoor is dragged about once a week, very HARD footing, grass/weeds grow in the arena, massive flooding, uneven footing. No lights for the outdoor Indoor Arena Conditions- DEEP footing and uneven, very narrow, 2 horses have a hard time working in there together Stall Shavings- VERY THIN amount. Only enough shavings to soak up minimal waste. Hay- Left over hay in the stall that your horse does not eat is used as shavings. This creates, moldy, smelly, buggy conditions. Water buckets- 2 buckets in each stall however only 1 is utilized for water, the other stays empty. Water is not cleaned throughout the week. The one bucket of water is only filled half way and never topped off. Lights in the barn- Very dim, old lightbulbs. Light fixtures that used to work and do not work anymore are left to rust and rot in the stall Heated Buckets- No heated buckets allowed Fly Spray- fly spray is NOT applied to your horses upon turn out Mice- mice running all over the place, droppings everywhere (even found a dead mouse in the water bucket). Manure Spreader- all the shavings and waste that is taken from the stalls is spread back into the fields. Fecal Tests- NOT MANDITORY for horses that board there.... Shots- If you opt to have the barn manager administer the shots to your horse at shot cost you will receive NO shot record to keep for yourself for shows. Vet- Manager urges boarders to use her specific vet that she likes. This vet does not return calls or even show up when boarder is there. The vet communicates SOLELY through the manager. Farrier- Just like the vet, you never really know what day he is coming out and he does not speak to boarders, only through the manager do you find out your horse has poor hoof health Time Devoted to property- According to the manager, she is also in charge of 6 other rental properties so her time is stretched very thin. This created the manager to be "distant", "stressed" and "busy" all the time Trainers- Outside trainers are not allowed. There is 1 trainer that is approved Natural Horse Life- the horses are out whenever they can with little time spent in their stalls- super good for a healthy horse. If your horse requires inside stay and doesn't do well outside almost 24/7 they charge you DOUBLE rent for stall rest. Sick horse- Double rent per day to keep your horse on stall rest due to illness. Contracts- they do not give you a copy of your contract and I was never able to get a copy even though I requested one. Turnout- Manager states DUSK is when they turn out in the summer months however on numerous occasions the horses were turned out at 630. Tack Room- Tack room is not enclosed and is an empty stall where everyone puts their things. Entry Gate- powered by a solar power bar, it was only SOMETIMES closed. Entry gate leads out onto 22 & 3 so any horses that got out of the pasture, stall or field could run right onto the road. Barns- barns in deplorable condition Fields- Horses are never in the same fields with the same mates. Always changing On a very personal level I can attest to the previous yelp reviews in that my first year here was fabulous and then it absolutely turned for the worst. The worst part about this place in MY personal experience was that the Barn Manager (we will call her BM) was horrid. There were multiple occasions where the BM talked to me about other boarders. How some were "drunks", "crazy", or "dumb" and I needed to stay away from them. All in all, I was disappointed with the experience with the Barn Manager. She made the whole experience terrible. Her boyfriend who worked on the farm with her was fantastic. Always helpful and friendly. The BM even said she was not a people person and she doesn't do well interacting with people. I would not suggest this place to anyone. read more
