The grilled cheese was perfect! So delicious! The split pea soup w/ homemade croutons and tiny bits of ham throughout sure hit the spot on this cold winter day. However, the lack of attention to our table made the entire experience frustrating, especially at a restaurant where I've had such consistently good service in the past. Unfortunately, the food was also not up to the quality I've come to expect from Cinder Bar. To make matters worse, after eating there, I became extremely sick with symptoms consistent with food poisoning. I normally wouldn't let one bad experience erase years of positive ones, but between the extremely slow service, disappointing food, and becoming sick afterward, this experience was bad enough that I no longer feel comfortable returning. It's genuinely disappointing because Cinder Bar has been one of my favorite restaurants since they opened, and I have recommended it to others many times. I was also charged $7 for a small cappuccino, which I found to be quite expensive. I appreciate transparency in my dining experiences, especially when I make a point to support small, local businesses. If there's an additional charge, customers should be told upfront. The pricing for dining here leans more expensive for what I would consider a mediocre dining experience.
