I started with a Pineapple Juice Mimosa, which I absolutely loved. My wife's latte was probably the one average part of the meal, but thankfully, everything else was fantastic. I ordered the Meat Lovers Hash, and it was so good! Hearty, flavourful, and exactly what I want from a brunch hash. My wife ordered the Smoked Salmon Benny, and she absolutely loved it. The Hollandaise sauce was especially delicious, and the eggs were cooked beautifully. Between the excellent food, friendly service, charming atmosphere, and how welcoming they were to us and our dogs, we really enjoyed our visit. The lineup is definitely justified! The menu is quite limited which is not a bad thing for a restaurant focused on quality but I still found it to be a bit too limited. The wine selection is also quite limited. If you love your wines, like I do, I would bring my own and gladly pay the corkage fee. We had a little bit of everything from meats to pasta and fish. We shared for the table so that we each had the opportunity to try everything. There was nothing to complain about but it didn't "wow" us. In speaking with some longtime locals, I think the popularity of this place has meant that they no longer need to go above and beyond to satisfy the local crowd and cottagers who don't mind spending a lot on a nice night out. While I was eating here I noticed that there were a lot of people who came in, some came for dine in service and some came for takeout. The staff at the diner knew at least 90% of the people coming in by name. One of the regulars even brought his friend to checkout the place. So it seems like this diner is quite frequented by the locals in the area. When we walked in, we were quickly greeted by James, he was very friendly and full of energy. He was quick to take our order and check on us when we needed something, service was wonderful. We ordered the Porterville Pizza and wings with fries, added a side of gravy and finished off with a butter tart for dessert. The pizza was nice and crispy and topped with lots of fresh toppings, probably one of the best pizzas I ever had! The wings and fries with gravy was delicious as well. The warm butter tart for dessert was a great finishing touch to the meal. Chef Jamie did a great job with everything that came out of that kitchen, no wonder this place is so popular amongst the locals.
