When they arrived, Norwegian sailors gifted a keg of Norwegian beer to their visitors! After the ship returned to the US, it became the centerpiece of this beautiful museum run by the Historical and Cultural Society of Clay County. There are plenty of other exhibits to see, but the sheer scale of the Hjemkomst will captivate your attention during your stay.

We got the guided tour and got to hear the story of one man's obsession with building a ship and sailing it off to Norway. I had to admire his determination. I called into the store and was told I had to speak with the service manager but he was away from his desk. 5 hours later he called back. His name was Gary, who is by far the rudest most unprofessional manager I have ever spoken to. After explaining my frustrations with this process now taking almost three weeks he started talking over top of me and down to me. He would not let me say a word and started to yell at me and then he hung up on me so I called him back and he said to me, "we can do this all night."
