The Assistant Manager, a chunky woman named Tammy (I think that is her name, she is Latina or Native American) was belittling, rude, and sarcastic while speaking to her employees on the sales floor. She spoke to her employees like they were idiots. She needs to be fired. Horrible mean woman. Service is no longer offered, dressing rooms are a mess, and they seem to care more about pushing high-interest credit cards than serving and pleasing the customer. read more

This is a very busy JCPenney. The shelves are full of nice fresh items for 2021. A lot of new clothing and your bags collections I haven't seen before. There was a line at the cashier which is indicator of a healthy economy and healthy store. Parking and getting in and out was easy since it was at the end of the mall. My interaction with staff was minimal and they have restrooms that are large and decent and clean. The store was clean and every square foot was well utilized. read more

My family and I had made an appointment for photos, needless to say-we were not informed on what was going on, we were shoved in a back corner to "wait" then we had to wait again for her to slap some crappy shadows and clip art on pictures, which I did not want and she still charged me for. It was a complete circus in there, and this one associate was the problem.. if she didn't spend so much time trying to pressure everyone into buying pictures, maybe there wouldn't have been a line of angry families. I'd avoid this place like the plague.. first and last time I will ever do that. Wish I could get my money back. Also- no mirrors, bathrooms, or area to change. Also no where to put your belongings so hopefully the other 5-10 people they cram in the back don't steal your things. read more

HORRIBLE worker, I was with my friends in the second story of JCPenny and a worker was following us around and then came up to us and told us to leave because we were too old?? But apparently we weren't old enough to be at the mall without adults? Like excuse you, you do NOT know my age. You profiling us is crazy because we were respect with you Mrs green until YOU were disrespectful first and threaten to kick us out and trespass us for no reason! A few months ago I had purchased a watch from the local JCPennys in Fargo, ND. Today, while my wife did the Wednesday PokemonGo activities, I went into the store (wearing the same watch I purchased earlier so it should be visible on camera, it is a shiny gunmetal black watch on my wrist) as they were advertising Black Friday deals. I look at a few other watches, found some I liked, and made a decision to come back to buy them when I got paid. I then went and waited for my wife in the mall food court no where near the store when an African American man wearing a tattered black hoodie with no name tag or other indication he worked for your store came up to me and complimented me on the watch and asked to see it. When I handed it to him, he asked why I took it from his store. When I replied I didn't I bought it earlier, he asked why I gave it to him. I replied that if I am going to be robbed of a $10 watch, I am going to give it to them. He then told me he saw me rip it out of a box, so I asked him to show it to me, and he said he had it over at the store, at which time mall security came over. He lied to them and said he wasn't accusing me of anything, and when I called him out using his own words "take it from HIS store" "rip it out of the box" he admitted I was right, so he admitted to mall security that he was lying. They then reviewed the cameras in the security booth, and he left to check something in his store. He eventually just called back to the mall security and said I could take the watch. Did not come to personally tell me this, had someone else do it. I went back to the store to demand an apology, and told the cashier I "would like to speak to the store manager on duty". The same guy who lied to me and made false accusations answered the call, meaning he was the on duty store manager on 11/15/2023 at the West Acres Mall JCPennys in Fargo, ND. He said he had all he needed and that he wasn't going to apologize for making false accusations and lying. I was understandably upset and said some insulting words to him (I never threatened him or acted violent towards him), but as I was walking out, he decided to follow me, likely to make sure I "didn't steal anything else" Since the $10 watch I purchased months earlier was sooooooo precious to him, I tossed it gently back in his direction for him to have, because again if I am going to be robbed of a $10 watch I paid for, he could have it. I have purchased many items from JCPennys over the years, mostly clothing since they have an excellent Big & Tell Men's clothing section, as well as some kitchen appliances, and even registered for a few gifts there when I got married, but after this treatment, if I need anything like that, I will become one of the millions of Americans giving my share of that market to Amazon, at least they never have accused me of theft, even when I reported my packages missing/stolen and they shipped me replacements. I look forward to hearing about JCPennys going the way of K-Mart and Sears. read more

After being a loyal JCPenney shopper for decades, the way I was treated during my last online order convinced me that it's no longer a store with which I want to do business. After 14 days went by and I still hadn't been contacted that the order was ready for pick-up, I inquired with customer service. I was told that some of my items still hadn't arrived and that they would notify me to pick everything up when the order was complete. The next day, my order's status changed to "customer picked up" even though I hadn't picked it up nor had I been informed that it was ready. I had to contact customer service again, at which point they cancelled the order & refunded my money. Then, I received a rather rudely worded letter from the West Acres JCPenney store telling me that since I hadn't picked up my order in a timely manner after they contacted me multiple times (not true), they had no choice but to cancel it. I don't appreciate rude customer service and being lied to nor is it acceptable that my order was released to someone else, so I'm happy to take my business elsewhere. read more
