RIP OFF ARTISTS! BEWARE. Wilson Bros doesn't honor its one year "guarantee". The "we're at your service" slogan is also a scam. Paid $117 for a dead that was probably DOA. When I asked Wilson Bros to replace it - receptionist "Sunny" refused to let me speak with anyone. Said "customer service" is only email!!!??? What? That's not customer service at all. That's a way of avoiding a dialogue. When I emailed - I received a non-generic sheet on how to tell if your tree/plant is dead. Second email was a an obscure clause on why Wilson Bros won't honor guarantee. This company is bad news and should be held accountable for FRAUD. I ordered two purple smoke bushes at the end of May. At the end of June, I reached out to Wilson Bros to say they bushes didn't look well and were not producing any new leaves. I sent pictures and they said I wasn't watering them enough even thought everything else in the garden was doing great. Well, it appears they have a fungus and still no refund. But today, I get an email saying a plant I had requested (mind you, this was nearly two years ago) was back in stock. I clicked on it because I was curious what they were charging - I've been denied access to their website since I gave them their quite accurate top notch zero star review. I ordered a $200 5 gallon Japanese Maple and had it shipped to my home in Utah. The tree arrived in an unhealthy state and I notified Wilson Bros. They suggested a treatment plan, which I followed, while sending pictures of my tree deteriorating every week. The customer service agents insisted that the tree should be sprouting new leaves in no time! But just 2 months later, my tree is practically dead and then Wilson Bros blamed it on me. Before writing negative reviews, I always give companies a chance to fix any issues I encounter. Wilson Bros offered me a $40 gift card towards a future purchase, which did not make up for my dead tree (especially since you can't buy trees for $40 on their website). Then they told me they would replace my tree IF I MAILED IT BACK TO THEM. This message was accompanied by a long list of requirements when sending trees back, including making sure the tree arrives in the same condition in which it was purchased (which was not possible). Special boxes, packaging materials, and a particular staple gun were required for this mailing, not to mention needing to find some way to ship it while trying to quarantine during a pandemic. Why on earth would a place want a dead tree mailed back to them? It seems like a policy they put in place to encourage customers to buy from them, but would never be able to use due to the crazy requirements. I offered to pay for shipping to get a new tree sent to me, but I stopped receiving responses after this. I usually purchase my plants from my local Nursery here in Las Vegas, but decided to try online for the first time and decided to order from Wilson Bros because of the variety and notice of 3-7 days delivery. Ordered: Camellia, Gardenia and Encore Azalea. The first 2 items I received after a week, both placed on the same box at opposite sides of each other, upon opening the Camellia was drooping badly looking more like a willow tree, Gardenia plant after being planted in the container turned yellow leaves and all the flower buds rotted. The Third item, Azalea, delivered after 3 weeks from date of order. So we shall have to wait judgement on that since I just planted in its container 2 days ago. After sending photos of the Camellia to Gabie, and a week of back and forth, she authorized a full refund. To be honest, I will give them another chance, though the delivery was not the best and resolution is not exactly handled base on their company policy, everyone deserves a second try. read more

When I was searching vendors for this particular plant it seemed as though Wilson Bros was slightly over-priced to similar products. However, I decided to buy from them because their delivery time was the only reasonable response available. Once I rcvd this plant, in a very short time, I was astounded by the entire purchase. The packaging was impeccable, and the plant was incredible. For a 3 gal pot, this plant was easily twice what I was expecting (from my experiences with other vendors). It was healthy, undamaged, and huge. It responded very well to pruning and vine wrapping (into the form of a tree trunk), and after 10 days, it's doing really well. I purchased a plant on their website. However, they sent me dead plant. I emailed them to request for return, but they refused it.

I ordered a redwood tree and it arrived dormant which was not communicated. When I complained, the company said I could send it back, a huge tree costs a lot to ship, and they'd also charge me a $25.00 restocking fee. I took it to a local nursery and they said it's not dormant, it's dead as not only the needles was falling off but also the branches were too. DO NOT trust these people. Rip off!!!! read more

This review is not intended to be a negative review about Wilson Brothers Nursery. I have always had success with what I have ordered from them. My issue is with the two redbud trees that I have ordered recently. I don't know if this a problem with all young redbuds or just the two that I purchased. The first tree was a flame thrower redbud purchased just last year. Not sure of the nursery it came from. It came at about five feet tall, however after I planted it I could readily see that it's trunk was too small and weak to support the tree. I fixed the problem by attaching it to a one inch steel pole pounded firmly into the ground. The second redbud, an eastern sweet heart tree, was about six feet tall and arrived several weeks ago purchased from Wilson Brothers. It came attached to a half inch dowel the same length as the tree. Unfortunately, OKC experienced very strong straight winds yesterday and the tree was damaged and where one lower branch was broken it also cracked the trunk of the tree. I replaced the pole they sent me, which was too weak to really support the tree, with another steel pole. However, it may very well be too late to save this tree. Time will tell. No more redbuds for me. I also ordered three different crabapple trees last year and they all arrived with strong trunks that support their trees. No extra support was necessary. read more

I've tried a number of online nursery's in the last two years as I've added to my landscaping. In fact, I've added nearly 50 shrubs, trees, flowering & non-flowering plants from Arborvitae, Encore Azaela's, Butterfly Bushes, Landscape Roses, Hosta, Ligustrum, Olive Martini Elaeagnus, Weeping Willow trees & a Tulip Poplar tree. Some were replacements for items that didn't make it over a growing season through Winter into Spring. Over 6 different purchases and corresponding shipments all of my items were sent & delivered promptly, packed professionally while arriving in superb condition. Other dealers failed in what their plants/trees etc. looked like & the condition they were in when they arrived. My purchases from Wilson Bros. Nursery were "farm fresh" with no obvious stress, missing parts or other damage. Their packing was excellent. I haven't had to contact Wilson Bros. for assistance but other nurseries made excuses and didn't wish to pro-actively deal with dying shrubs or improper growth of trees that were properly planted and staked. I keep detailed logs with dates & pictures. In addition, you may think comparative pricing might show similar items more expensive at Wilson Bros. who also offers free shipping on 1 or 100 items ordered. As a business owner I can attest shipping costs go up frequently so sometimes you build those costs into the product price. With plenty of research, trial & error I find Wilson Bros. as the best price to value ratio of anyone I've dealt with. This puts them as my online source for all landscaping needs. read more

I ordered a number of plants- about $1300. the plants came in three different shipments. i had pots, 1 gallon and three gallon plants. all of the plants were good except for four three gallon bushes. The one gallon plants were actually much bigger than those four plants.. other three gallon bushes were three times the size. When I took one of the plants out of the bucket i found that it was actually a one gallon bush that had JUST been put in a three gallon bucket. the one gallon ball was still completely intact with no other roots at all. I immediately called and was told to send an email to the "team", and that I would hear back within 48 hours. I did so that day and the next, including pictures. I did not hear back for five days. They acknowledged that the plant ball was not big enough and offered a fifty percent reduction for one plant, or a full refund--BUT they wanted me to rebox the plants, with very explicit instructions and if they determined the plants were not in the same condition as when they left their nursery I would not get the full refund. They also said I might have to pay a 6% fee. THEY SCREWED UP AND ACKNOWLEDGED IT BUT THE BURDEN IS ON ME. I offered to bring the bushes to them- over a 40 mile trip for me, but they declined and said I would have to ship. I have now disputed the charge for those plants and offered to deliver or let them pick up, but I am not going to take the responsibility for shipping and let them determine if the plants are good after they arrive. So far I would say terrible service, and I would not recommend purchasing from them. Stay tuned for the rest of the story. read more

Don't waste your money - this place doesn't even ship your order until after they receive emails requesting tracking after you wait a week. Then they send you a smaller plant than you paid for. And when you point that out and ask for a refund of the difference, they insist the one quart size plant you received is a three-quart plant, when the pot size you received conforms to the one quart size - like denying what they sent is going to change reality -- what an insult!!! read more

I ordered 6 plants, 3 looked almost dead upon arrival. Wilson Bros is 2 miles from my house but, in lieu of using local delivery, they ship using UPS and FedEx. I won't buy from them again as they are way overpriced for what you get. read more

Bait and switch...ordered two bamboo plants, paid over $150 for two 3 gallon pots filled with heavy soil and a few teeny tiny sticks in them. (one pot actually only had ONE shoot in it..would you pay $80 for that??) Photos showed substantial sized plants...though I did not expect full-sized plants, I expected to at least get a pot with a good amount of shoots. One of the owners actually emailed me a long article supposedly to explain bamboo...does not explain why you show photos of one thing, send another, and charge $150 for plants that should not have cost over $20 each. He also said it was to cover shipping...you should not charge me like that if you say "free shipping". Will never shop here again. read more

I live 3,000 miles from nursery in furthest north west corner of Washington State. Yes, the shipping took a week.. However, it was worth the wait. My three gallon Cali Canthus was perfectly healthy and a true stunner. People that can not wait for quality should hit a hardware store for their plants. This nursery is five stars for sure. I have ordered from Wilson Brothers several times in the past. Today was a horrible experience. The price of the tree I planned to purchase was $189 on website. When I placed order the price increased $20 to $209. I call to have the price adjusted. The manager refused to honor the price shown on website. I cancelled entire order. They could not have cared less that I did. I would not recommend this company to anyone who values being valued as a client. Terrible client experience. read more

Whatever you do, DO NOT purchase anything from this company!!! My experience was very similar to the others listed. I purchased a Japanese Maple that arrived in serious distress, I notified them immediately, and sent pictures documenting the dead branches and that every leaf fell off. I was told that they are hardy, and that I should wait until Spring (5 months later) to see if it survived and if so they would issue me a credit for a future purchase. Their website states they offer a 100% guarantee on their products but they have ZERO intention on fulfilling that obligation. What they failed to realize is that we as consumers were paying to receive a live healthy plant. There is no way I would have bought the tree I received if I viewed it at a nursery. I have purchased many plants/trees online, even more durning COVID, and none of them have been received in this condition. When I called I was told that all returns/issues are handled by one "customer service" manager who only responds via email. Based on my experience, the whole goal is to make this process as convoluted and difficult as possible, so you will just get frustrated and go away. After stating that I did not receive the item I ordered, I expect to be able to plant it immediately and have it be in good health, not pay a premium and be asked to nurse it back to health IF it even lives. I received a huge list of criteria that had to be met in order to receive a refund that included paying for shipping to return it and Wilson receiving it "in the same condition that it was sent" which would be impossible as I had a dead tree. I finally gave up and reported the transaction to my credit card company (with all of my pictures & documentation) who reimbursed me in full after Wilson stonewalled them as well. read more

I ordered over $200 worth of plants and only 2 survived a very mild Massachusetts winter! They only guarantee for 30 days! They were Encore Azaleas supposedly rated for zone 6, which is what my location is. Also they wrote reviews with my name on it that I did NOT write. read more

Nice little hide-a-way nursery. Very unique and hard to find plants. They have plants Pikes Nurseries don't even have. Love the freebies as well. I've been going there for years now and will continue to. They also have same day delivery. Their trees are beginning to get a little pricey, especially the Japanese Maple. Sticker shock real life. I ordered for the first time this year: two orders, a total of 13 plants, for approximately $600. I selected delayed shipping for a month out, when I will be able to install the plants. Lo and behold, 8 plants arrived a week or so after my order. I emailed to inquire about it and was told that I received a notice during the checkout process that these plants couldn't be delayed. I don't know that this notice popped up at checkout (I certainly did not see it), but it definitely didn't appear on the order review or receipt, which clearly indicates the order will ship later in the month. It was very unpleasant to deal with the initial customer service representative and the manager, Spencer, because my impression of their responses was that it was all my fault and even though he would bring up the issue to the website design team - that if there is differentiated shipping on the order that it should be reflected on the receipt - something that seems so elementary to me that I can't believe the company doesn't feel responsible for not having it.  I felt the attitude they repeatedly put forth is that they did nothing wrong and it was my fault. It was somewhat shocking to receive such poor service. The way they handled the situation prompted me to cancel all of the rest of the plants I had on delay ship and not do business with them again. read more

Wilson Brothers used to have such good customer service, but I'm sad to say, as the prices have gone up, customer service has gone down. Their employees used to seem friendly and genuinely eager to help. They used to have people who would ask if you needed assistance in finding anything, rather than hanging out inside the shop, chatting with each other and and avoiding customer interaction. They used to have people who would write down your prices on form, so you could just take your 'order form' in to pay - which was great, since they don't have any small carts or wagons. They used to have people who would offer to help you take your purchases out to load. Now, I feel the customer service I get at Home Depot is just as good. When I went today, I mentioned this to the cashier and she apologized profusely - then stood there and watched as I struggled to carry my four large plants out with no offer of help from her, nor the other 5 employees who were milling about inside the building. I hate to see a small, family owned business lose its charm, personality, and local flavor, especially when I try really hard to support local business. Sad. read more
