They will help you unload and are generally wonderful. I have been donating their since 2016 and they have been consistently that way for the past 7 years. I went into the store on Phila pike to look around and possibly purchase something. Lets face it, we are not in Neiman Marcus here but, the store was was well organized and I found some glassware I can use. I have also had the pleasure of visiting their main offices on Lea Blvd outside of Wilmington, DE. They are very organized there and contribute so much to the community. Overall from me, Goodwill of DE and DE County get 5 stars. Great job, please keep up the good work. I know it isn't easy!

One thing I've learned in my many thrifting excursions is that all Goodwill's are not created…read moreequal. Delaware Goodwill's are an entirely different beast. With that being said I've been to three Delaware Goodwill's and they all have the following in common. Very rough and messy sales floors, very loose organization, lots of discarded furniture and larger items, poor customer service, and long check out lines. All of the above adequately describe this Goodwill location. Everything is just kinda thrown about. Pillows were on the floor beside a pile of records. Wheeled carts block isles and are filled with donations that didn't make it to the shelves, which for the most part are bare. Probably because of lack of staffing. The check out line was long and there was no one on the floor to provide assistance or clean up. Clothes were on the floor, shoes thrown about on the shelves, and overall merchandise chaos. I will say this location had a good bit of furniture (both outside and inside). While some were covered in markers and stickers other pieces were decent. A vintage French dresser with a sold sticker on it was priced at $20. However furniture pricing was not consistent, as particleboard dressers of lesser quality were priced much higher. They had several bikes and large dollhouses priced at $10 Something I've never seen elsewhere was the looting at the donation drop off on the outside the building in front of the staff. A long line of cars were waiting to be unloaded by Goodwill staff, this line blocked the cars parked in the front row. Some people were getting out of their cars or walking up and rummaging thru the bins that didn't make it inside yet in full view of the staff. It was a free for all. It's no wonder the inventory on the floor is lackluster as the good stuff never makes it inside! Granted the neighborhood wasn't the greatest but this was ballsy! Would I make a return visit? Probably, if I was in the area, after all someone scored a nice vintage dresser that they could easily resell for $100 or more. Would I drive here just to patronize? Nah. SIDENOTE: If you obtain a cart consider yourself lucky. Incoming customers hover over the customers checking out just to secure one.

I stopped by a few days ago to check out their new store. It's significantly bigger than Nana's Attic, which means it feels far less cramped. Yay! Still very good prices, the "yellow tag" items are consignment and generally higher priced than the store's donated stock. It about killed my soul to see an awesome vintage salt & pepper mixed in with newer dishes in a consignment lot. Aaah! Staff are great, the store is clean and bright. I'll definitely be back. Note: angled parking in front of the building is NOT free, Pontiac is a public street, and those are pay at kiosk metered spots.

I have been a customer at this store since it was called Nana's Attic. Today I was there, looking for furniture. The selection was a bit overpriced for the quality. Suddenly, I needed to use the restroom. The woman working informed me that they did not have a public restroom and that I could go to the Dollar Tree next door. The Dollar Tree did not have a usable restroom. I returned to thrift and thrive because, quite frankly, I was literally about to pee myself. I begged to use the employee bathroom. The employees lied to my face and said that there was no bathroom in the entire store. Yeah right, if that's true, then that's a worker's rights violation, and they would not be in business. I explained that I was having an emergency and they did not care. It really stinks to be a loyal patron of a store, then to be treated so poorly in return. Particularly during a vulnerable moment. There are plenty of better thrift stores in the area with better prices AND customer bathrooms. It's a shame that a store that has such a great mission doesn't provide a great shopping experience.

When I noticed this and called and requested that my transaction (which occurred less than 5 min prior) be cancelled they refused to offer a refund and cancel my transaction. What was the reason I did business with these criminals, well, I have a Delaware limited partnership. I must pay taxes on this partnership. My lawyer, who helped me set up the partnership sent me a notice that these taxes were due prior to June 1st. On the notice that my lawyer sent me there were instructions that I could pay online. NO WHERE on the instructions did it mention a filing fee. I followed the instructions which stated to go to www.incnow.com/tax (in bold no less) and It gave instructions on how to pay my taxes. I did not see any fees associated with use of this site. I put in my credit card and NO WHERE did it ask if I wanted to proceed after notifying me off a $50 service fee. I clicked ok and I get a receipt saying I was charged this ridiculous fee. I called and was told: "sorry there is nothing we can do." This is nothing short of criminal fraud. They do NOT disclose this fee. When you checkout online for an order (say an amazon.com purchase) prior to checkout they show you your "cart" which tells you all the shipping and handling fees etc. There was nothing like this with these clowns. They did not even try to make it obvious that they were going to charge an absurd fee. They could have done this but then people would NOT use this site and they would simply mail in a check for the price of a stamp. I left my number but NO one called me back from the company and NO one at the company seemed sympathetic or helpful. I have had other experiences with companies and I have done countless online transactions. There is simply NO reason someone could NOT offer a refund when someone calls them 5 min following a transaction. Simply cancel the transaction, takes much less time than it does for me to write this. NOT a good business. NOT good people. NOT following the golden rule. NOT acceptable treatment of people. Update: They saw this review called me and said they would mail me a check for the $50 service fee. So perhaps they are not all bad. I changed my review from one to 3 stars.

The address for the administrative offices is the same as the address for one of the preserves, but the preserve is obviously a separate entity from the offices, and is not called "Natural Lands," it's called "Hildacy Preserve." Natural Lands manages a growing number of preserves, currently all 20 are located around the Western / Northwestern 'burbs of Philly. So far, we have been to three of their preserves, and have thoroughly enjoyed all of them. Each Natural Lands preserve has a different personality, and a different history. Terrains are different, as are features and facilities. For example, Stoneleigh is a former mansion in Villanova, with pristine, cultivated grounds, akin to similar historical estates. Meanwhile, Sharp's Woods Preserve in Berwyn, doesn't even have a parking lot, and is more of a neighborhood trail between developments, with no major facilities or features. Both preserves offer their own function in the community, each providing something different, that is useful in its own way. This is true of each and every one of their (currently) 20 properties. ALL of them are FREE! This is a WONDERFUL resource for our area! When you visit the Natural Lands website, they are very good at providing useful, articulate info. You can sort through the preserves to learn each one's personality to choose a destination. Clicking on a specific preserve will show you all the history and stats, and they have a highlighted area to tell you how long of a hike you can take at each one. There is also a link at each preserve page to show you a map of the preserve, with all the trails, so you can plan your trip. We are so happy to have discovered this organization (which has been under our noses for years now), and we look forward to getting to know each of their preserves!

Native warm- and cool-season grasses are particularly valuable as nesting areas and food sources for birds such as Bobolink, Eastern Meadowlark, Grasshopper Sparrow, and Eastern Bluebird--all of whose populations have been in decline nationally due to loss of habitat. Crum Creek, a tributary to the Delaware River, meanders through the preserve. The creek is the leading drinking water source for Delaware County residents and was designated a "Special Protection Stream" by the PA Department of Environmental Protection. With help from volunteers and Pennsylvania's TreeVitalize program, we have planted hundreds of trees along the edge of Crum Creek to improve water quality. Trees and other plants in this area filter the nutrients and sediments transported by surface and groundwater flowing into the creek. Native trees also provide shade and food that benefit fish and other aquatic species.

We chose Savanna, a 3 year old shorthair tabby, and filled out an application. We were told someone else had applied for her, but they allowed us to put another cat we also really liked just in case. On Tuesday (3 business days) they called and said we'd been approved for Savanna. I went in the next day with my new cat carrier, signed the forms, and brought her home, along with a couple days worth of food, some treats, and toys. We also got a free physical at the FF vet clinic, which I took advantage of. There is no home visit for cats. They ask a few questions, such as do you own or rent and are pets allowed where you live, do you have kids, allergies, etc. You have to agree not to declaw, but there are some declawed rescues who need homes. They highly recommend you keep your cat indoors. Adoption for an adult cat in Jan '17 was $45 and included spay/neuter, rabies vaccination, deworming, flea treatment, tests for the major feline diseases, and a microchip. The spay/neuter alone would cost more than the adoption fee by itself, so it's a great deal, but more importantly, your previously homeless cat (or dog) gets to be a part of your family. One month, and I already can't imagine life without Savanna!

The vet that worked on her came out and told me after he closed her up the first time she was still bleeding real bad. He had to go back in and put her to sleep and open her up the second time. So I had to sit and wait an extra hour for her to wake up off the anesthesia. When they brought her out to me they had her in some kind of suit. The lady was carrying her and she said it was a space suit. She said she would carry her to my truck and they had raped her and she told me to take the bandages off. When I got home that night I took the bandages off. I couldn't believe my eyes. I never seen anything so bad in my whole life. She was so swollen and bruised in between. Her two back legs was so swelled. They look like giant blood blisters. They gave me enough meds for 7 days and and said rest. I stayed with her in my bedroom around the clock and kept icing her down. When I called and said how swelled she was that's what they told me to do after a week and a half bleeding had never stopped. It wasn't real bad thick drops but steady and then it got a little worse and he told me to put a Band-Aid on her so I was using big band needs. Every time I took one off it was so filled with blood. I couldn't believe it. So I took. I called and said she was in pain and I need it more medicine. I'm still thinking well. Some swelling went down and don't look as bad. I was praying she'd be okay. They told me I would have to bring her in to get the medicine so I did why there? I told him bleeding never stop. Is she bled on their floor where I was sittinI told the lady at the receptionist she went and got a mop and mopped it up. They gave me more meds and told me the same thing. Rest and I left within 21 days from surgery to the day she bled out and died in my arms. I left another review. It would be the first review and I put pictures with it but it looked like things were changed around and it was set so I added it and I'm rewriting it now. I don't know if They'll let me post pictures to show you how bad it was. I called there said I would like to talk to the vet that did the mass removal on my dog. She passed away and they said they were so sorry and they would have him call me a week. Maybe a little over a week later. He called. I told him you went in twice. You had to do something wrong the first time for her to bleed like that for you to go back in the second time. He called me delusional and asked me can I prove it? I got pictures of before I brought her there and look great and I got pictures when they were done with her she looked so bad he had to know something was wrong for him to opened her up twice. He just prolonged her death. She suffered for 21 days before her passing. He told me the second time he went in. He tied everything off and she'd be okay. Just rest and medicine from surgery to the day she passed was exactly 21 days. I googled it about if a vet opens the dog up twice and it told me that yes that's not good. I experience that should know better and if she died within 21 days that's why she died because she was opened up twice. If you would have just told me the first time before he opened her up the second time because everybody makes a mistake that he hits something and couldn't stop the bleeding and had to know she was going to pass away. He just let her suffer. I would have just had her put down so she didn't suffer. I am very hurt that he has denied anything to do with her passing. I'm very mad. He opened her up twice. Never asked me. Could he go back in twice or did I want him to go back in? He just did it on his own. I lost my best friend my companion. She was all I had. She went everywhere with me and did everything together. She is very missed. I'm lost . and he still hasn't taken responsibility for what happened to her. I believe he's mean and selfish and knowing she was going to pass and he let her suffer for the 21 days. All I've done is cry. I can't believe I took her for a small Mass removal to make sure she was okay and I was so happy to go get her and then he came out and told me he had it open her twice and when I took her him and seen her it was the worst thing I've ever seen in my life. I had to watch my dog suffer for 21 days. Why he was in denial until her death? Dr Quin did the surgery I'm not from PA in from Newcastle Delaware.
