This is the type of small, local business that everyone should support. Food: A small menu: 3 choices of starter, 3 choices of entrees, and 3 choices of desserts. Keep in mind that ONE person does all of the cooking, the serving, bussing tables, filling water glasses. I chose the duck and pork rillette as my starter, followed by a piece of roasted pork shoulder served with lentils, tomatoes, and olives. Others chose a lovely pan-roasted piece of white fish, or half a roasted local game bird (pigeon-like). Each dish was pretty and precise, but not at all fussy. Other starters included a warm goat cheese salad and asparagus with a mousseline sauce. Only one person in our party of seven had room for dessert - creme brulee - and I couldn't bring myself to have another bite (but it looked great). The food was so well-prepared and tasty that it was the perfect ending to what had been a long day. Service: As mentioned above, this was a one-man show. And frankly, I'd pay double for the show that we got. We were a party of 7, and there were three more small groups dining at the same time. We never had a long wait for anything, and service was friendly and welcoming. Vibe: Hamlet-would-eat-here-chic. Intimate dining room, tiny-but-eclectic bar, and a water-front yet still dimly-lit dining room for some fantastic ambience. And I was there for a work dinner! This is a great place to hang out for a glass of wine and a salad, or for a full 3-course meal. Family-friendly: Probably. But tourists should leave the stroller at the hotel room. Summary: Bistro Francophile certainly makes my list of places to return to when I am visiting for business. I'll be happy to come back until I've tried every dish on the menu. And then I'll start from the top again!

All in all a meal I shall not soon forget. Food: Recommended to choose 3-5 courses per person at 130 Kr. each; I chose 4, but 3 actually may have been enough. My four courses: 1. Tartare of Norwegian lobster with walnuts & crispy lobster 2. Cod with egg yolk, cress & sauce with marrow 3. Roasted halibut with snails glazed in garlic, potatoes & bisque 4. Crisp sweetbread with pumpkin, chanterelles & chicken sauce There were lovely aspects to each dish, but the cod with egg yolk was absolutely one of the top five dishes of my life. Never thought I would feel that way about cod, but you have to experience the smells and textures of this dish to understand. The marrow was smoked, the yolk was spherified, and the cod was the perfect temperature. I could go on and on about each dish, describing how well these plates were put together, but it's really just best to go and have the experience (but I will say that the crispy lobster will blow your mind). Choose wines, beer, or cocktails to go with your dinner. You can have a lot of fun with pairings here. Service: Impeccable. Vibe: Seaside-modern-easy-chic. Young and hip staff wearing black with brown leather aprons who are knowledgeable about the wines and the food. This is absolutely my kinda place. We sat in the sun room surrounded by windows and it was the perfect place to enjoy the evening. Family-friendly: No way I would bring children here. It may be just fine to do so in Denmark, but I would rather save this type of experience for me and my missus. Summary: Restaurant Sletten represents all that is right these days in the food scene. And I guess I mean that it's so much more about the food than the scene. Well-intentioned flavor combinations that really work. I generally hesitate to use words like "well-balanced," because it's an over-used term that describes a situation that can be very hard to achieve. But Sletten absolutely achieves it in every sense. I am grateful to have had the opportunity to dine here.

The food is spectacular and the setting is a lovely little restaurant on the water with great views. The small plates make it possible to try many options and every one was a winner. It's pricy but for this level of innovative and exciting food it's worth it.

There was plenty of room inside and outside so we were offered to sit where we wanted. On a summerday the exterior seating is perfect. The food selection is ok, but not huge; yet I trust this ensures a decent quality and consistency. The waitresses were young but yet attentive to our needs, I doubt they have a huge knowledge of the wines, but not a problem as we ordered cokes ;-) The food was nicely arranged, served freshly cooked, and the taste was great. After having our coffee we sat there enjoying the evening and talking; I guess we sat there for an hour or so without any disturbance from the waitresses, I really liked not having the feeling of being "kicked out". Highly recommended.

The safe choice @ Rungsted Harbour…read more This place delivers quality food and service, and has done that for years at this prestigious harbor in Northern Zealand. The menu's little and consists of a lunch menu, and a dinner menu. The lunch menu consists of different salads and open faced sandwiches. The choices are a blend of typical danish specialities, along with some french "bistro"-influence. All choices of the menu can be recommended but I especially enjoy their Fried Fish-filet with Remoulade on top of Rye Bread. Really Good. Crispy on the outside, Soft and well prepared on the inside. At night, go for their Moules Frites (mussels with french fries) or go for a steak. When you choose to dine here, you're guaranteed a decent level of quality and service. My go-to place at the harbor. Prices are also pretty fair in my opinion (98 kr for my Fish Filet at Lunch).
