I've been going to Nora Apothecary for about five years to get harder to find supplements prescribed by integrative health professionals. Their retail section carries an extensive selection of specific lines of supplements, specifically Pure, Thorne, Solgar, Designs for Health, Integrative Therapeutics, Metagenics, and Ortho Molecular Products. They also carry some OTC pet products. But their primary function is as a compounding pharmacy, one of only a handful in town and 2 or maybe 3 on the north side. There are two pharmacists who work there, and one in particular, the owner Tony, is super friendly. I won't name names, but the technicians can be hit or miss in terms of their knowledge and customer service. I've never waited more than 5-10 min even when I didn't call in a refill first, but obviously it would be best to do so. I have cross-referenced prices between Nora Apothecary and another leading compounding pharmacy. They are more or less similar and can be less than prices charged by one health care professional who carried much of what he prescribed in his office, which was one reason I started going there to begin with. Given that they are a fixture on the north side, quick and friendly, I will continue coming to Nora Apothecary.

I get there and I told them I had hypothyroidism in the past. They did not know how to understand my labs and had me panicked that I was very ill. They referred me to an endocrinologist. I came home and looked at labs I've had in the past and when I saw what they were so alarmed about, it was from my hypothyroidism, not hyperthyroidism. As HCPs, why didn't they know that?? Now, they've had my labs for 2 weeks. The pharmacist orders two hormone creams...but they don't have one of them in stock. Why not? You had my labs for TWO WEEKS. Do you NOT look at them to see what they said BEFORE I showed up? And if you did, WHY didn't you order what I needed? Like who does inventory around there. So, after 5 days, I call and ask for the status because I haven't heard anything. They said I should get a text that day and if not, call back. I got the text on Wednesday and have been waiting for my medication. I called yesterday evening and left a message stating I had not received it. I get a call today saying it was marked "pick-up." I don't know why because I told the pharmacist twice I wanted it mailed to me because it would take 40-45 minutes for me to get there due to construction. They said they are mailing it today. This place is a disorganized MESS! I won't be going back. I can find another compound pharmacy.

At first I was…read morethrilled because the pharmacist at this CVS location was really great at helping me with the complexities of my special-needs child and the various controlled prescriptions he takes. She'd get the meds transferred in from another store and we never missed a dose. Then one day she was gone. One of the staff said she'd quit. Guess that should have told me something right there. In the nearly two years since, there's been no consistent staff. Not that they try to get to know you anyway with the line that's always formed inside the store. I didn't use to mind that they had no drive through but now it's just constantly standing in line inside. And there's been a specific medication my child has been on for over a year that every single month's refill is a horrible experience with. Despite going through the same situation, the same crap happens of them delaying "to speak with the prescribing physician." WHY do we go through this EVERY MONTH? So we started messaging through the CVS app (because good luck trying to call and getting to the pharmacy)... reminding them that we've been through this process... but it still doesn't help. They also advertise delivery but I've never been able to do it, even on non-controlled drugs... it always says unavailable. We've stuck with them this long only because they're the only pharmacy that accepts both our insurances that's anywhere close to home, but I recently found out Kroger started accepting our secondary insurance again so we'll be transitioning back to them as soon as possible.
