I will say the public areas of the hotel appear clean and well maintained. It's somewhat uncommon for us to dine at a hotel restaurant without staying at the hotel as well. We however have stopped at Season's three different times now when there's been a snafu with going to another destination. We haven't been disappointed yet. We've had the Friday fish, Sunday broasted chicken and rounded it out with a ribeye to boot. Pleasantly surprised with each dinner. They each seemed to be a quality entree with decent flavorings. It is a restaurant within a hotel, so it's not super fancy. I note it as a worthy destination if you find yourself looking for a bite to eat and it's that time of day when other area restaurants might have too long of a wait.

The desk clerk was nice and polite, it's not her fault the place reeks of a run down house with a wet basement. She checked us in and tells us our room is on the second floor on the North side and we will want to drive around and park in back. What she failed to tell us was they have no elevator. So here is my husband trying to carry up a completely full large cooler with probably a case and a half of beverages and 20 pounds of ice, along with his duffel. and me with a brace on my foot/ankle carrying my bag, trying to make it up a flight of stairs in a hallway that is more like a sauna. We finally make it to our room, open the door and find it's not just the hallway that's a sauna, but the room too. First things first, where is the AC? Second, after being on the road over 4 hours, the bathroom. I walk in the bathroom to find a toilet that is so small and short that it looks like it was pulled out of a grade school. Then I notice a handicapped grab bar in the shower. Nice feature, right. But I have to ask, who puts a handicapped grab bar in a second floor hotel room that doesn't have an elevator so the handicapped can access the room? Where is the logic in that? Also there are no available sockets near the bed to plug in and change cell phones. We are in a room with 2 queen size beds and there is only one light source between the 2 beds to be shared by both beds. They advertise free Wi-Fi, but the signal is so weak my husband could not get a text message to go through to his brother on the first floor. So now after just 3 hours of sleep on a rock hard mattress, here I sit in the dark for over an hour now, at 3:30am, unable to breathe due to the mold and mildew in a hot room writing this review and looking for a different hotel to stay in hoping that the shower at least has good water pressure and wondering how this place is rated as one of the best hotels in the area. I don't know, maybe my standards are too high.

They were modern and we'll kept. Those were some of the positives. We were double booked with another family, so we were bumped from the cabin with the washer and dryer.... Not the end of the world but when you have small children and plan on a washer and dryer being present it is difficult. The resort advertises WiFi, but not a single person in our group picked up the signal or was able to use it. This was not fixed by the owner during our stay. It was not a big deal, but when trying to search for dinner ideas ect, we had little reception and no WiFi to help. The beach was not cleaned of dead fish and seaweed until Wed /Thursday. Again, not the end of the world but when you have a busy 2 year old, it is not fun constantly having to direct him around the seaweed and dead fish. It was slightly odd how the owner came and sat/monitored us packing up at 7:30/8am when check out is 9am. It was just different I guess. Not bad but not great. We rented pontoon boats from the owner, but he had taken out the lights so we could not use them at night on the lake. We highly recommend not renting the boats from the owner if you want to be legally on the boat at sunrise /sunset. Overall we had a nice family trip but will not be staying here again due to the changes from what was advertised (WiFi /laundry /pontoon rental -no night restrictions listed)

While they expressed their "apologies" and "understanding" absolutely NO action was taken to provide a comfortable stay as should be expected from a hospitality management company. In addition to the noise, the unit's internet service did not operate as expected. Streaming services on the TV were unavailable. It appears that Simple Life manages several properties within the same complex: Holiday By The Bay A-4, Hilltop View B-3, Hilltop Hide Away B-5, Peacefield At The Hilltop B-4, and Relaxing Busy Bee B-7.

Review about the Lodge on Laurie Lane in Sturgeon Bay, WI. First, I'd like to start off to say that…read morethe rental agency, Simple Life Hospitality, is very responsive and great to work with based on this stay and during a previous rental at another property. However, this property is not accurately reflected in the pictures, which we learned were taken prior to a recent sale. Like the prior review, we could not get into the house with our code on check in. Getting a hold of the agency with little to no cell phone signal was difficult, but they were able to help us get a hold of the spare key. The house was not particularly clean with cobwebs around the bar, windows, and in the bedrooms and dirty and wet towels in the laundry closet. The highchair was filthy. While it was helpful to have children's cutlery place settings, the kitchen pots and pans were not well stocked. What was available needed to be washed before we used them - including the glassware. The refrigerator is old is not large enough for the number of people that can stay in this house. There was a makeshift banister to the upstairs using unfinished 2x4s with splintering edges--right where the little fingers of children would touch and could get splinters. This same appearance of unfinished 2x4s was repeated on the deck, where the deck wood is old. Multiple spindles were replaced with new pieces of wood, but instead of replacing the top railings, stacked 2x4s were nailed in place across the deck and stairs. Within one of the bedrooms upstairs, there were broken doorknobs to closets that left screws on the floor. The crib and mattress seem extremely old and worn, and the mattress didn't seem to fit snuggly in the crib, leaving gaps. In addition, most of the dressers and night tables were flimsy with broken drawers in one of the dressers that wouldn't slide and just fell out. Furniture holding lamps and other fragile items that could easily be knocked down is a hazard to all, but most importantly, to small children. There was also a significant safety issue as there is an empty wood storage box next to the fireplace that has a door on the deck and another door in the house. The outer door did not have a lock on it. Once we noticed this, we were able to find a padlock in the house and put it on the outer door, but it would have been easy for anyone to get into the house prior to us noticing this. The grounds are not adequately maintained either. There were large weeds growing up through one of the two staircases on the deck that prevented anyone from using it safely. The landscapers came by while we were there, and we had to ask them to remove the weeds twice before they eventually did. There are not enough places to sit in the main family area for a house that holds this many people. Unlike in the pictures, there is only one 3-person couch and 1 arm chair so most of us had to squeeze onto the couch and ottomans and bring chairs from the kitchen table to sit on. The chairs on the front porch were not there. The table and chairs pictured on the deck were also not there. There were only some wicker chairs left on the deck, which were shedding paint flakes. The deck had broken planters that, again, were the right height for little fingers to get injured. The Adirondack chairs by the fire pit were filthy and most nearly broken. One evening we spent over an hour killing small bugs that were all over the kitchen ceiling. The windows had been left slightly open before we arrived, and the screens had holes in them. The real highlight on this property though occurred on the fourth day of our stay when we woke up to the smell of sewage. The drains had been very sluggish upon arrival in the kitchen and bathrooms, but now the sewage had backed up into the basement shower. The rental agency was great at getting the septic tank company and a cleaner out quickly that morning. The septic tank driver commented that the tank was very full and hadn't been emptied in awhile. Unfortunately, it took a over a day for the smell to go away. Overall, this was a lot of money to spend on a place that isn't maintained properly. We definitely won't be coming back, nor recommending this location.
