Whispering Pine Lodge is HEAVENLY!!! This was a last minute trip to get out of the city and what a Hidden Gem! The cabin was easy to find, booking is on the phone and easy to sign up for. The owner Eedy was very pleasant to talk to and gave good directions. The cabin was clean, with pretty much everything that you need for a weekend. Plenty of towels, cutlery, bedding and pillows. The cabin had two beds and one futon and was pretty spacious for 6 people. Friendly dogs are allowed. The cabin was heated and very comfortable for an early Spring stay. It is located next to two gas stations that have a lot of the supplies (food and drinks) you might need for your stay. The property is close to ATV trails and has a small hiking trail around it for a quiet walk. Situated in the heart of the Wisconsin Northwoods, its a great place to stay if you were headed to the UP. 100% recommend atleast a weekend getaway. read more

OMG - the best cheeseburger I ever had! This place is a little gem in the woods off of Parkway. My mom, boyfriend and I went to the Whispering Pine Lodge one day for lunch. The restaurant is rather large and has a great country cabin like feel. It has wonderful personality with great food to boot. Even my boyfriends mushroom burger was the best he ever had. First, their burgers automatically come as "double" and I'm not sure what seasoning they use, but it is good! Service was excellent and the prices were very reasonable. I'll definitely be coming back, when I'm in town! read more

This is a hidden gem in the Wisconsin forest. The brats were very good. The soup was great and somewhat original (Southwest potato and ham), it had great flavor. The sandwiches looked good also. The breakfast waffle was also very good. This place is worth finding. it is a "deli in the forest'. The dining room is brightly lit, nicely decorated with the local rustic cabin style, yet very clean. An alternative from the many burger and beer taverns in the area. read more

We stayed in a cabin for 3 nights! Beautiful area. The food is all homemade at the lodge. Breakfast is served on weekends only. You have to try the Blueberry Bread Pudding!! Prices are very reasonable. Ice cream as well. And a very adorable gift shop. If you can..you should rent a cabin, it is worth the drive! read more

We stayed 2 nights during winter. The good: Really nice cabin. Great amount of space in the cabin. Great place for a quiet and peaceful time. The not so good: 1-The water tasted awful and there's no other drinking water on site. Had to make a special run to the gas station to get jugs of water. We later learned that there is iron in the water (the bath water was yellow/orange). I let the owners know and the next day they called and explained the situation. Notice before arrival would have been nice so that we could have got water at the store beforehand. We had no intention of leaving the cabin for 2 days but had no choice because we needed water. 2-Temps were extremely cold and the radiant floor heat wouldn't heat past 70 degrees. That's not bad but the windows are drafty and the inside of them were completely iced over. The only warm spot was in the bedroom if you close the door all day and night. 3-The radiant floor heat uses the hot water heater, so you have to turn down the heater an hour before taking a shower or bath. Otherwise you'll be in for a cold water experience. This would be tough if 6 people needed a shower. All of these things killed our first night but after getting tips from the owner, our second day was much better. Just wish we would have known all of that before arriving. We were ready to pack our bags and leave before hearing back from them. read more

No more breakfasts here, but plenty of places to go if you don't want to make your own. The cabins are clean and very comfortable. The owners are the best and will bend over backwards to make you feel welcome. We rent here once a year and can't imagine staying anywhere else. read more

Five stars for sure. Very nice cabins, spotlessly clean. Air conditioned. From what I understand, all the cabins are the same. You have a loft upstairs with one queen bed, one queen bed downstairs and a futon in the living room. I stumbled across this place while frantically looking for a place to stay on very short notice. The owners were more than accommodating. We came up to ride ATV's, and from this location you are just a short ride, maybe a mile or so to some of the best trails in Wisconsin. Just hop on your quad and go! I usually stay in Mountain, but I think this is my new "go to" place for riding. For you serious ATV-ers out there, this place is on the east side of the trails, so in the morning you ride away from the sun, and likewise on your return, you have the sun at your back. When I stayed in Mountain, I would be riding into the sun on my return, nothing like riding into a cloud of blinding dust and sun. Anyway once you have beat yourself to death on the trails, you can all gather around the fire-pit, grab some beers and use the free firewood. Just an added note, there is no longer a restaurant on the site, as they have changed it into a rental unit. read more
