Everything is broken, very poor repair. Most staff are kind but the ones that are not spoil it. This place seriously needs work

The administrative staff is often out of their offices and out and about on the floor or in the dining room at mealtimes, and willing to answer any questions or concerns you may have. The activity director always has some kind of activities to keep the people active or making snacks or playing bingo. BUT the real winners here are the therapy department!! They work with the patients and get them to a point of being able to go home as soon as they can safely go after a short hospital stay, if they are there for rehab. The long term patients also get to work with them ongoing throughout the year to maintain their strength

At one…read morepoint, we found my grandfather in a condition where he was speaking incoherently and clearly not well. We pointed this out to the workers and a worker who administered medication said, "we should wait and see if it gets worse". We waited for about 2 hours monitoring him ourselves and that's when we decided enough was enough - he was clearly confused and disoriented. Instead of receiving proper attention and monitoring, his condition appeared to be overlooked. We ultimately had to request him to be taken back to the hospital ourselves, where he was later diagnosed with kidney failure. This experience was really frustrating for our family. This place came highly recommended in Bastrop, and we expected a nursing and rehabilitation center to provide attentive care, especially for vulnerable patients who cannot communicate effectively. I hope the facility takes these concerns seriously and improves its level of care and staff responsiveness so other families do not have to go through the same experience. There were some bright spots: the therapists were amazingly careful and helpful. Occupational, physical, and speech - the works. They were all great.

The call center representative could not find any clinicians for the Bastrop office, regardless of the filters that were chosen. There is no direct number to get more information for the specific office. I was only trying to find clinicians that had availability and what their hours might look like. There were no clinicians populating for the Bastrop office and the call center representative suggested that I check in daily because things change. The UI for the website is not user-friendly and identifies all clinicians for the entire state and not for a specific office. How can you start services if you can't even get basic information?

I was referred to Katherine Hyer and Thriveworks after a life changing diagnosis. My first time in…read moretherapy so I was not sure what to expect. After 27 minutes of my session, I politely walked out. During that time I was barely able to speak, Ms Hyer went on about her child's medical issues. I was never asked "what's bothering you", or "what are your struggles", it was just a constant monolog of her speaking about her child's issues, and trying to align my issue with her child's. I left knwing far more about her childs issues that Ms Hyer knows about mine. At one point she suggested I speak with my MD about trying a medication her child is on. I see a Neuromuscular Specialist who is very knowledgeable about my Myasthenia Gravis, I did not come to Thriveworks for Medical Advice. By the time I returned to my home, I could see the bill generated for the session was $395. It clearly states on the website that the initial consultation is $200 and follow ups are $170. Either is far too much for a 27 minute session to hear about her childs issues.
