Love the kennel here, the people are fantastic and our dogs really LOVE it! At past kennels, our dogs were overstimulated and stressed when we picked them up but that hasn't been the case here - they are happy dogs when we leave them and happy dogs when we pick them up. They are 65 lbs each and can stay in the same "run" together which we also love. Really trust the staff and feel very comfortable leaving them here. I've never felt this way about a kennel and it is such a great feeling to know they are so well taken care of. We get dog food/treats here, too. The owners are so sweet and knowledgeable and they stock anything you could ever want. Stoked we live by Willow Run, I don't want to move out the area because of this place! read more

This place was AMAZING! It was the only place I could find Avoderm dog food, their pricing was so reasonable. I am gutted to find they closed their doors this last August. I hope they reconsider and reopen. Staff was always so knowledgeable and friendly. They truly went out of their way to help you. Also, I loved refilling our propane tanks here. I believe they are still refilling propane tanks here. Also, Judy at Baileys Pet Spaw is still at Willow Run. Really, such a lovely place. They have photos on the wall of what 120th Avenue looked like in the early 90s, when there was still farmland all around it and no strip malls. I called a handful of places around town looking for a particular feed product and this was one of the few places that said they could get it in on request. The first time I called I talked to one person and was told they would get some in for me on Friday. I called that Friday and spoke to a second person to confirm they got it in but they had not. Person two did tell me they'd get it within two weeks and they'd call me back after the weekend to confirm the price. Never got a call back unfortunately. Called back a third time and spoke to person three as the two week mark approached to follow up and see if I'd be able to get the feed and was told the person doing the ordering was recently fired. I asked if there was someone else that could do it and when I might call to get my order through and person three was very apologetic but they basically said there was no one there that I could talk to and get me the feed I'm looking for. Now I'm picturing a store with only entry level employees who are very nice but no managers or owners to help with service that's out of the ordinary. This place may be great if you can walk in and grab what you need off the shelf but my experience was frustrating and at this point I felt like my time was wasted. read more

Selection - 5 The selection at Willow Run is fantastic. They have dozens of treats and food for my dog. They have bully sticks, bones, other dried animal parts, hard treats, soft treats, chicken, lamb, fish, buffalo, dry food, frozen food. You name it (and it isn't crap), they have it and in multiple sizes. All the treats you find at Petco and PetSmart are going to be poor quality compared to what is at Willow Run. If you're looking for toys or collars, your better bet is a place like PetSmart or Petco. This is primarily a pet food store, but they do carry other pet supplies. Quality - 5 I will never, ever, ever go to a place like Petco or PetSmart again to buy my dog her food. We met with the owner after wanting to buy Blue Buffalo for our puppy, but the owner talked us out of it, saying they used to carry it, but the quality of the food isn't what it used to be. He had dozens of other foods to recommend to us that I had never heard of. Hew was extremely knowledgeable and passionate about his work, wanting only the products in his store that an animal deserved. When we fed our puppy Eukanuba, she would pick at her food. Now we had to buy her a slow feed bowl because she would gobble her food down. Price - 4 Willow Run is expensive. If you're someone who can't afford a higher quality food period for your dog, Willow Run is out of your reach. I've found treats like bones and bully sticks online in bulk for about 60%-75% of the price of Willow Run. However, when I checked online at the price of the typical dog food we buy, online wasn't any cheaper (especially when you factor in shipping) and the food was the same price, if not cheaper, than the "premium" dog foods at Petco/PetSmart. Atmosphere - 5 I love being in this store. It's got this homey-barn feeling. There are cats wandering around and the staff has never been anything but helpful. They have other products on display for other local businesses (such as leather wallets, jewelry, and sand art) that really make you feel like you're supporting your local community. The place is overflowing with merchandise, but it's well organized, well-stocked and neat. Recommendation - 5 If you can afford higher quality food (better food = healthier dog = fewer medical bills), then Willow Run is definitely the place to go. If you can't wait a few days for a bag of treats or bones from online, then Willow Run is the place to go for a great selection and you'd be supporting a fantastic local business. read more

Every time I stop in here, they give my one year old golden a treat (with my permission, of course) and I get to browse with no issues. Recently returned to Willow Run and am still just as pleased. Between Willow Run and Pet Empawrium I have all of my pet needs covered. One of our dogs has stringent dietary restrictions and so I rely on the specialty pet stores for our food. Willow Run has an excellent selection of grain-free dry, wet, and raw dehydrated foods. While Pet Empawrium is very strict on what brands they will carry based on recalls and quality ingredients, Willow Run has a wider selection to fit a variety of budgets. If you are in the Westminster/Broomfield area, I highly recommend Willow Run. As always - as a pet owner it's important to remain vigilant of recalls so that you can be informed and make your own decisions when it comes time to buy. It might be helpful for Willow Run to include updated pet food recalls on their website or posted in the food section of the store just for added education to the customer. My dogs love this place. I'd rate the kennels a 5, inexpensive, very cool (temp wise) and they get plenty of attention / exercise without getting thrown into general population. Selection is awesome and service is always fast and friendly. I buy food for the pups here about every 3 weeks, I like that they keep track of your orders and remind you when you've earned a free bag. My dogs eat premium food and it is pricey but the occasional free meal takes away the sting. read more

Ironic experience but sharing it if anything might help them improve their customer service skills. So I walked in to ask about getting a run in for my dog. The clerk (maybe in his 40's) was talking to another couple about the deterioration of youth culture and how youth is whats wrong with our country. Hearing it was very broud and offensive but people are entitled to their opinions. So I waited in line and they persisted to talk for another five minutes. So after waiting for five minutes I decided I would look around until they were done speaking. It probably took another 10 minutes before someone asked how they could assist the ONLY CUSTOMER in the store. Ironically though it wasn't the clerk at the front who asked. It was a teenage-twenty something who took the initiative to approach a customer. BUT WAIT THERE'S MORE! So I asked how much a run would be and the young man turned to ask the clerk whom was still talking to the couple, the clerk would not turn to acknowledge his co-worker. It was actually another teenage-twenty something that was able to answer my question because she acknowledged her co-worker needed assistance. So thank you very much to the two younger workers who helped me today. As for the clerk who didn't acknowledge that a customer needed help, refused to acknowledge his co-workers, and thinks that the problem with America is the youth... maybe you should take a page from your younger co-workers book about appropriate work ethic. read more

If I could give them 10 stars, I would...and I don't give out stars easily. I will never EVER go anywhere else and I will tell everyone I know to come here. Willow Run kenneled our two dogs for over 2 weeks while we were on vacation. Sadly, our older dog passed away (from a pre-existing ailment) while in their care. To say they went above and beyond is an understatement. They loved on our boy while he passed so that he was not alone. They called us immediately and continued to contact us and work with us to figure out the next steps. They made phone calls to our vet on our behalf (I was in Europe) and worked with us to find options for our sweet boy. They cried for and with us and gave extra love to our other dog until we could come and get her. When we picked her up, they gave us a beautiful card and cried with us again. They took our dog who had passed to our vet without a single question, charge or blink. They handled what would have been a devastating situation had it happened in our care with such love and grace and I will never ever forget it. Thank you seems so insignificant. You have my business for life and I will tell everyone I know to give it to you too. I will never forget the amazing above and beyond service you provided. read more

They have exceptional customer service and they always give you their honest opinion on what type/brand of dog food you should be feeding your dog(s). We bought a bag of Canine Caviar puppy food and my dog ended up not liking it.
