Definitely a much better alternative to the busy SFO or OAK airports, especially if you need access to the north bay area. First, parking outside is super easy. There is a short term parking area that's free and the long-term parking is very affordable. Secondly, There are push carts available to move your stuff to the ticketing desk from the curb to the counter. Thirdly, There are only a few airlines that service this airport so none of the interior is complicated to use and navigate. I generally like the food options. They have several food concepts and coffee bars inside. There's even a wine bar! There are also upscale vending machines with nice items available for purchase. I really prefer to fly in and out of this airport when I travel to Northern California. The Snoopy decor is a delightful welcome, and the atmosphere is generally fairly light and lively. Check it out!

First time flying out of Charles M Schulz - Sonoma County Airport…read more Me and my wife were so use to flying out of OAK and SFO and I'll admit that we were at fault for arriving late prior to boarding. This was a lesson well learned. The airport is small and makes going through TSA fast and easy. We had an Alaska flight booked for Las Vegas and when we arrived approximately 40 minutes prior to boarding, the agent at the Alaska check in desk told us we were too late and that we may need to rebook for a 4:30 PM flight instead of our flight that was slated to depart at 1:10PM. That put a damper on our mood and raised our stress level for sure. Again, the blame was on us for arriving late. We went through TSA and had two of our bags flagged and had to remove all of the items from our suitcase as it was too big to fit through the scanner which stressed us out even more. With 3 minutes left until the gate closed, we met with Desmond, an Alaska Airlines agent who informed us we were too late and we should had never been let through. Despite the inconvenience we caused, Desmond did their job with a smile on their face and told us next time to arrive earlier to ensure there were no issues. Desmond allowed us to go past and board the plane. This is quality and exemplary customer service. Thank you so much Desmond despite the inconvenience we caused.

2 hour drive from SF/OAK to the wine country? ..... Nah! I got a plane and a license, 20 mins. tops…read morebaby! This is the little airport that could. We flew in for the day for food and drink (no wine for the pilot...hmph!). The runway and taxiways are in top shape. Parking is secure, and Avgas is cheap! 4 temporary spots for transient parking and the admin building has clean bathrooms and lots of wine country brouchures. Call Healdsburg Taxi Co. (707) 433-7088 for a $20 ride into town ..... or pack some folding bicycles in the luggage compartment and pedal to town through some beautiful wine country. There are numerous wineries right around the airport, though I highly recommend going into town for the experience..... not to mention the fab food ! Tips* -Write down the security door code before exiting.... you'll need it. -Small runway, final gets a bit squirrely in a crosswind, so be ready.

Want to travel to an airport that's user friendly and convenient?…read moreMy advice would be to go somewhere else because Healdsburg is just a bare bones kind of place where you can buy gas or if the moon is right, you can have maintenance done. There's maybe 3 dozen airplanes based here that don't fly much, an ineffective local pilot group without much cohesion, and an average maintenance facility that runs the airport like their personal fiefdom. The city of Healdsburg would rather sell the real estate than manage an airport so that piss poor attitude is reflected in a minimalist facility.

The trip is always on the longer side with all the stops, so just plan for that going in...it's not the fastest ride, but it is simple and stress free. Everything is pretty organized and boarding is smooth, which makes the whole process easy. Only real downside on my recent trip is that there was no AC, which definitely made the longer ride feel way warmer and stuffy than ideal. The busses are showing some slight wear and tear but they aren't completely run down. I've never really had major complaints. Overall solid 7/10. A good no frills option to get to and from the airport to wine country.

Unfortunately my last trip was definitely did not highlight their best. After a long return with multiple flights from Europe, my luggage was removed from the bus at an earlier stop. The bag was removed in Petaluma which is a break stop and no one noticed it was not claimed. When we arrived at my stop, the driver acknowledged the luggage was removed too early. After a 20 hours travel day, my choices to retrieve my luggage was to drive back down to Petaluma, wait 1+ hours for the next bus (9:45 pm), or drive to Petaluma the next day (we live 60 minutes from Petaluma). Their mistake equals my problem. A "sorry" doesn't make up for my inconvenience.
