Hands down one of the best fried chicken spots in New Orleans! It is always one of my first stops to eat at when visiting! I always get their two piece dark combo with fries and a honey butter biscuit. They also have great drinks and daiquiris. I love the art on the walls and the ambiance is always great. It is right off of the street so you can see beautiful New Orleans right outside as you eat your hot served meal. The service is always great as well. I have not had any problems at all, they are always nice and helpful if you don't know what you want to try off their menu. My true score is a 3.5 We check out Willies late night and on a random afternoon on another day. The spot was clean and the service was normal. You sot down and wait for you to be called for your food. You can either take it to go or sit down and eat it. The chicken was fresh and cooked really well. It had a perfect crisp to it. We had a four.piece dinner, a three piece tenders, and a red beans and rice. The chicken was 4 stars as was the rice. Fries only get 2 stars, while the sauces earn 3. The storefront was a long narrow room ... mostly clean, with blaring music. The bathrooms were dirty. So for ambiance they get a 2. The fella taking orders could not have been less interested ... he gets a zero. So in sum, 4 star chicken and rice, 2 star fries and ambiance, with a zip for service. All told ... 3 stars. read more

Very much overpriced but that's what I would expect being in Canal Street right by Bourbon St. It's smack dab in tourist town. The person who rang up my food didn't speak very much English so asking questions was torture even with Google translate. Yet, the food came out super fast and was piping hot! Loved that. I visit New Orleans about 4 times a year and think Willie's Chicken is the best. On one occasion I purposely booked a connecting flight so I could go to Willie's. Over the last two years whenever I'm in NOLA and go to Willie's after 2am all they have are tenders. This is unacceptable. If you want people to have the full experience stop limiting your menu because you may anticipate less orders for full chicken service. When people visit NOLA you don't ger a second chance for a first impression. If you're open you full menu should be too. read more

Delicious chicken spot that was right by my hotel! They've got multiple locations all around the French Quarter. Prices aren't bad. I think it was around $12 for fried chicken plus the fries and biscuit. And the portion was large for me! Lots of fries! I could definitely share it next time. When I walked in, there were customers coming in and out and a few dining in. It wasn't busy which I was happy about since I was pretty hungry. But they are open late, so I'll bet it's even busier then! There's staff at the counter, but you order on the touch screen and they will give you a receipt. I didn't wait long for my food. Maybe less than 5 minutes. They still give you a number even if you're ordering take out. My fried chicken was still hot when I got to my hotel room! Delicious! Definitely a formidable rival for Popeyes. The biscuit was one of the best I've had for a franchise. It had a nice sweetness from the honey and wasn't all that dense. Biscuit was not super fresh but was tasty and I'd try another. Fries were cooked and warm but not very flavorful...but the chicken...yes yes yes...the chicken was HOT, juicy, and delicious. Breading was flavorful but not spicy nor overwhelming. Dark pieces and white pieces were all cooked consistently and would have been fine alone. Pieces were well sized without feeling either like itty bitty pigeon wings or steroid infused monstrous anomalies! There were quite a few frozen alcoholic drinks but my FM friends didn't have any and my bottled Coke Zero was cold. There is a "Willie's" sauce...did dent but certainly did not add to the experience. The food here is AMAZING! The chicken strips are soo crispy and the food comes out hot which does take a little bit of time. They only sell bottled soda and water but the daiquiris are so good and they're big. They always have really good music playing and the vibes are immaculate. We should have walked down the street and gone to Popeye's, skipped the daiquiri, and paid half as much for a comparable meal. Although the four piece chicken was moist, the strips were dry and chewy. The service was mediocre. The music was so loud that I had to repeat myself several times while placing my order (much to the dismay of the person taking the order).
