My true score is a 3.5 We check out Willies late night and on a random afternoon on another day. The spot was clean and the service was normal. You sot down and wait for you to be called for your food. You can either take it to go or sit down and eat it. The chicken was fresh and cooked really well. It had a perfect crisp to it. The fries were well seasoned but not soggy. I also really liked the biscuit. It definitely hit the spot. Overall we had a good experience eating here.

I was in town and needed to pick up something, it was late, they were open. Did I think it was great,it was ok. Im not the biggest fan of honey butter biscuits. I think you could go to Popeyes and get about the same or better. The customer service was great .

The chicken was fresh and really good! Service was solid, and the ambiance worked well for a grab-and-go or casual dine-in chicken spot. The daiquiris were tasty too--just wish they had a lil more kick and a lil less sweetness.

2pc Dark Chicken Combo (~$14) & Diet Coke bottle (~$4)

Ordered: 2pc Dark Chicken Combo (~$14): thigh & drumstick served with honey glazed biscuit + fries + one dipping sauce Diet Coke bottle (~$4) Aya's take: You honestly have to go out of your way to NOT try Willie's because it's absolutely everywhere in the French Quarter. It's also hard to miss given their flashy and vibrant colors and loud music. I had Willie's once before and remember it being so good. This was our last stop in NOLA and I knew I couldn't leave without some good ol' fried chicken. The 2pc Chicken Combo gives you a taste of everything - the chicken, the fries, and the biscuit. The chicken is fried fresh and came out steaming out. The thigh is my favorite piece and this one was super juicy and tender; also super greasy but I guess what can you expect for fast food. The fries were also crispy and lightly seasoned. The honey glazed biscuit was surprising; soft, buttery, and sweet. What's not to like? It didn't hit the spot quite like last time but it was still pretty solid! Give it a try!

Cajun tenders

Great biscuit, good fries, but underwhelming Cajun chicken tenders that lacked in seasoning. Food was piping hot though. Quite expensive

You go to a chicken place in New Orleans because: A. This isn't your first time in New Orleans. B. You want something quick because you're hungry. C. You had a po boy, red beans and rice, alligator, gumbo, bread pudding, etc., already D. All of the above. The answer is D. And I would still say skip Willie's. It's just not that good. Sorry to hate on them because people love Willie's that's either because they can't cook, they mama won't cook, and they grandma don't cook chicken: Plenty of Willie's all over so go if you need to, the positive is it's quick and you have a great choice of cold frosty drinks...that's why you really go. Oh yeah and their biscuits are good. Service was cool, but the counters were the napkins and sauces were...DIRTY. Not cool and no thanks.

The tenders were decent. The wings were not great (too much breading, not a lot of flavor, and not tossed in anythintg). In a pinch, not horrible. But popeyes is better.

Krispy chicken wings- I prefer my wings sauced.

Great Cajun chicken tenders with a tangy BBQ sauce! Their honey biscuits are good fresh but they are hit or miss depending on when they were made. Great staff- friendly and honest. We were regulars while visiting.

I was born and raised in the city but this was my first time trying this place and it was good. Very much overpriced but that's what I would expect being in Canal Street right by Bourbon St. It's smack dab in tourist town. The person who rang up my food didn't speak very much English so asking questions was torture even with Google translate. Yet, the food came out super fast and was piping hot! Loved that. It was good too...a tad bit too salty for me but I barely add salt to anything. I think for most palates, they've hit the nail in the head.

Best daiquiris for the price. Good flavors too, I recommend the mango. Service is good and quick, even when you get food. Chicken tenders are really delicious. Vibes of the place are fun, open doors and loud music. Recommend!

Convinient as there are literally braches almost every other block. I dont know but they have the best biscuits I've ever tasted. Servings we're great for the price. Actually bigger lol Left with to go boxes as I wasnt able to finish them. Threw them in the airfryer and suprisingly, the chicken came out juicy!!

Delicious chicken spot that was right by my hotel! They've got multiple locations all around the French Quarter. Prices aren't bad. I think it was around $12 for fried chicken plus the fries and biscuit. And the portion was large for me! Lots of fries! I could definitely share it next time. When I walked in, there were customers coming in and out and a few dining in. It wasn't busy which I was happy about since I was pretty hungry. But they are open late, so I'll bet it's even busier then! There's staff at the counter, but you order on the touch screen and they will give you a receipt. I didn't wait long for my food. Maybe less than 5 minutes. They still give you a number even if you're ordering take out. My fried chicken was still hot when I got to my hotel room! Delicious! Definitely a formidable rival for Popeyes. The biscuit was one of the best I've had for a franchise. It had a nice sweetness from the honey and wasn't all that dense. It seems they've got daiquiris which would be good to try next time. Can't wait to come back some day when I'm back in NOLA!

Ordered DoorDash from HDK on the cred of the many positive Yelp reviews and it didn't disappoint. Tried two dishes, as I couldn't settle on one. The fried fish and shrimp were outstanding! Loved the dipping sauce and the seafood was cooked perfectly. The fish fillet was about an inch thick and so moist and flaky. Yum! Not sure I loved the fries with the crawdat sauce - they were a little salty. This ff dish kinda gives poutine vibes with the gravy. The Superdome was also tasty. I liked the fried fish better than the blackened, but the mashed potatoes and corn and sauce draped over the fish was rich and delicious. This fish was much thinner and a little chewy. I'd love a hybrid of Superdome using the thicker fried fish. Bread pudding was my dessert, warm and dripping in caramel/brown sugar sauce. I had to restrain myself from eating the whole thing! This was a perfect way to start my visit to the Big Easy.

Unfortunately the restaurant was closed as the entire street had a power outage, but the chef very kindly came out to greet us and let us know what was going on and offered us some complimentary cold water for our trouble. I made sure that my group instead came back on our way out, and everyone raved about their meals and said perhaps it was best that we saved it for last! My Seafood Extravaganza came with a THICK piece of blackened fish, a generous topping of grilled shrimp, and excellently cooked fries topped with that crawfish sauce. My friends loved the grits and dark meat fried chicken in their meals. We all dug in so fast I'm sad to say I didn't take any photos to share! The chef came out once again to chat with us, and it's clear he really appreciates every guest. Heard Dat Kitchen offers the best of both soul food and Creole food under one roof with a good helping of Southern hospitality, and it's absolutely worth a trip or ordering in from the more touristy parts of the city. As our rideshare drivers testified, this is the real deal! Keep in mind it only has counter seating and outdoor picnic tables in a pretty small no-frills spot; I think the service and food definitely deserves to be displayed in a full-service restaurant if that is what the chef ever decides to do.

Everything from the catfish and jambalaya to the fried chicken and gumbo was packed with the flavors and spices that can only be found in New Orleans, and every one of us was blown away! When you walk in you're greeted and told to get a menu and place your order at the counter. They will bring your food to your table. You pick any available table. That seems to be a thing in NOLA. The place plays contemporary jazz in the background so nice ambiance. They also have TV screens playing sports. I ordered the fried chicken, cabbage and jambalaya. Everything is WELL seasoned! I love seasoned food but this was too much for me. If it was a bit less seasoned I would have enjoyed it more. My wife got the shrimp platter with corn and mac & cheese. She felt her food was good and seasoned well. She wants to go back for lunch. To be fair I'm not a soul food person. It's not my first choice of food since I ate a lot of this food at church.
