They not only did a free diagnostic on it but were honest enough to tell me there was nothing wrong with it after testing and driving it. They could have very well been deceptive and swindled money out of us with a bogus result, but they didn't. I really appreciate that level of honesty and am truly grateful for it. Also, walking into their business I was greeted with a "smile and a hello, how can I help you?" That, in and of itself, is a rarity these days. I will definitely mention them to anyone with transmission issues and feel comfortable going back if I ever have an issue again! Honesty, which is what I received, is what's needed and not companies trying to line their pockets through deceptive business practices. I would definitely recommend giving them your business!

They fixed the shorted wires in wiring harness and serviced the Transmission since it was opened up anyway just to be safe. My cost for fixing the truck was 1/6 the cost from what Ford dealership quoted. I can't say enough about AAMCO of Jackson. I'll always take my truck there for any transmission issues. Good mechanics and honest straight shooting people. Can't go wrong by doing business with these folks. Mack was great kept me updated on truck and issues. I would recommend to anyone.

    Used them to put a new transmission in. After a year and a half, took it back because of some issue…read morewith the transmission while under warranty. They said no issues. It stripped a gear. It was just outside the warranty and they tell me I need a new transmission. This is kind of fishy. My wife went to pick up the truck because we decided to wait till my son finished school to put one in. The person working was rude and barely gave my wife the key. Told her the truck was in the back and she discovered it was in the mud. They apparently found it funny to send her back there to get it instead of bringing the truck out where she can get into it. Not good business practice and makes them less trustworthy on this issue. I plan on having the transmission rebuilt or getting a new one. I will not be using Ranco. Customer service and trustworthiness goes a long way. If this is a single employee doing this, I suggest the owner or supervisor put him through training.

The dirt parking lot in front of the business was covered in old cars and trucks sitting in potholes full of water. Had to park next door. Went in and was told I would need to leave my car outside all day and they would try to work it in late in the afternoon. I asked if I could bring the car back later today and he said sure. I asked what time and he said "Next Monday." We had uncivil words and I left, NEVER to return.

My husband and I were traveling from Houma, LA to Champaign, IL to spend the holidays with our family. This particular event was very special to us, since it was the first time in six years that all of our family would be together in one place for Christmas. We had spent the night at a local hotel on Dec 22nd, we rose the following day and after loading our luggage, placed the vehicle in drive, however the transmission would not engage. After turning off the vehicle, and restarting it, we were able to drive to your shop. Where we met Bob Rogers. My husband explained the problem we were experiencing, but Bob went right to work. He quickly ran a diagnostic and then took the vehicle for a test drive. The prognosis was pretty grim. The transmission needed to be replaced. But Bob assured us that if he could locate the necessary parts that he could make the repairs. You found a transmission for us, and put two men to begin the repairs. A short time later, you offered us the loan of your truck, in order for us to grab a bite to eat. We had arrived at 8:00 am on Dec 23rd, and left your shop at 2:00 pm that same day. We consider what you did for us a "Christmas miracle"! We have shared our story now with countless friends and family. Their response has mirrored our own. We cannot say thank you enough for the fantastic customer service, and immediate response to our travel needs. We did arrive in time to share Christmas Eve, enjoying the hugs and smiles of each member of our family! And best of all, you gifted us with a ham and a pecan kringle, just to make our day a little better, (they were delicious by the way). He will tell you what is actually needed and not try to find something else wrong with your vehicle. Mrs. Furr usually answers the phone and she is one that prices everything. She always gives you a reasonable price and doesn't go over that amount that she promised. Rebuilt transmission is 12,000miles or12 months- I really trust them with my vehicles and trust that they will tell me EXACTLY what's wrong with my vehicles. I highly recommend Furr Transmission!!!!!     I brought my Subaru in for an AT OIL TEMP light that was flashing on the dash board. I've never had…read moreany problems with the transmission, and even with the light on the car was driving fine. When I called the next day, Patsy Furr, told me that the final drive in my transmission was "bone dry," that she had no idea how it happened, and that because it was completely empty of fluid, the entire transmission would need to be replaced and would be "extremely expensive." When I asked for a ballpark price (as I'm unfamiliar with how much these repairs typically cost), she told me I was stupid, must be deaf, obviously couldn't think, and that I should listen better before I open my mouth, and yelled at me that it would be $10,000 to repair. She then promptly hung up the phone. Following that exchange, coupled with having never observed any fluid leaking in my driveway or garage, I decided to get a second opinion. I had the car towed to a more reputable mechanic someone else recommended to me. Upon receiving it, the new mechanic was told by the tow truck driver what Furr Transmission had diagnosed the problem to be. When they checked, they reported that both fluid reservoirs were completely full, that the fluid was clean, and that the true problem laid in the solenoid having gone bad, which they learned from reading the code for the check engine light. They stated that the final drive was completely fine, and they couldn't see any visible leak like what was described. Furthermore, they stated that replacing the transmission would only be a temporary fix, because the larger issue was that the fuel gaskets were going bad, and that replacing the transmission would not resolve the problem. Furr Transmission, and especially Patsy Furr, are rude, unprofessional, and untrustworthy. When someone is trusting you to perform a diagnostic that could lead to $8,000 in repairs, that customer deserves at least a modicum of respect. I have never been treated by a service provider as disrespectfully and condescendingly as I was by Patsy Furr. I would never recommend this shop, who failed to even run an engine code before demanding thousands of dollars and lied about what they found in the transmission, to my worst enemy. And I'll be sure to inform everyone I interact with who has a transmission issue to stay as far away as possible from Furr Transmission, their inadequate staff, and their excessively rude and disrespectful owner. Go to any other mechanic's shop if you value your vehicle. If you've have been given a diagnostic by Furr Transmission, get a second opinion before turning your vehicle over to them. Otherwise you're risking unnecessary repairs and future problems that could have been addressed the first time around before they become catastrophic.
