I went in for a "Trim" , cut about an inch off from my 3-4" length. Instead she cut it down to less than an inch! Butchered my hair , I never have my hair this short and if it weren't for the fact that I had to remove my glasses first the cut , I could not clearly see how much she was cutting! From now on any hair stylist will have to cut my hair around my glasses so I can stop them before they do too much cutting! Why don't these hair stylist listen to the customer? read more

I had a great experience here getting my hair styled for a photoshoot. I just needed simple waves, and I was in and out within 45 minutes. The price was super reasonable ($30 for the styling without a wash) and the woman who did my hair was so nice. It also felt pretty safe covid-wise. Parking was a bit tricky, but I called and they helped me (they have 2 spots on the left side of the shop). Highly recommend! read more

I tried the place for six months because it's close. Got good hair cuts from my stylist, but finally stopped going and went elsewhere. Between her constantly looking at her watch, and taking periodic breaks from cutting my hair to attend to other patrons' hair coloring and whatnot, I just felt like I was interfering with her service to other clients. I went in for a cut and the double process blonding, and everyone was just fantastic. It ended up taking pretty long and I really appreciate that they didn't try to cut corners or hurry it up and miss something! I can't say enough good things about this salon and everyone in it. As a life long Dallas native, I've always wondered about this cute little salon. Today was my first visit and Amanda killed it with my haircut. I'm not always the best at communicating exactly what I'm waiting but she definitely nailed it! I also received a complimentary eye treatment from Tara. We will not be returning and will spread the warning to our friends and neighbors. It has been a long, dreadful journey to find the best hair-colorist for me in the DFW metroplex, but I can proudly say that she is it! Jelaine is extremely knowledgeable, artistic, and patient. No problem, Nicki rolls with the punches and moves on. I like the colors in the salon, the layout and most of all the wine they serve while you beauty it up ;) The stylists are cool and it was pretty quiet the day I rolled in. I was so excited with the new do that I got some makeup done too. They hook you up with bangs and touch ups in between... I am new to the Dallas area and finding a new stylist gives me so much anxiety. I have had AWFUL luck with new stylists in the past so I was pretty nervous. After reading reviews on Yelp I decided to make an appt at Willie and Coote. I checked out their website and was very pleased with the price of $55 for a partial high light with "New Talent". Given I just moved and am kinda tight on money, this was perfect!! I called and asked to make an apt with Nikki, who had good reviews on Yelp and was listed as New Talent on their website. They were able to get me in the same day, which was nice. Nikki was very welcoming and probably thought I was a lunatic because I was so nervous. She listened to what I wanted, just a partial high light touch up, and to be sure not to high light over my low lights, which someone had done in the past, and I was nervous about. I can't say enough about her. She did a GREAT JOB. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a new stylist. My only complaint was that when I went to pay, the receptionist told me it was $85. I said, "Your website says $55 for a partial high light for new talent, isn't Nikki new talent?" She said "Yes, she is, but we have different levels of new talent and shes a higher level" Now, no where did I see anything about different levels of new talent, and the $85 price was listed for "stylists". I usually pay $85+ for my hair but when I went there expecting to pay the prices listed on their website and then am charged $30 more, plus then a larger tip I was very upset. This no way reflects Nikki, she did a great job. read more

I went here to get my hair and makeup done for my wedding after reading just two reviews on Yelp (I usually don't chance it with so few reviews for anything, much less hair and makeup for my own wedding!), so I was a little apprehensive going in... But I had a fantastic experience! Not only was I ecstatic about the way my hair and makeup turned out, but they were extremely welcoming to us, allowing 6 bridesmaids, 2 photographers, 1 flower girl and her mom to all swarm through the place while various people's hair and makeup were done. Amy did my hair, and I could not have been happier with it. I brought in pictures, we talked about it, she did a trial three days before the wedding, and hit a home run. She did the exact same thing for the wedding day, and it stayed in place all night - through a windy outdoor ceremony by White Rock and dancing, too. My makeup was fantastic, too. I'd had my makeup done for high school dances years ago at places in the mall (typically Clinique), and I went in thinking all makeup applications are basically the same. But I can tell you this looked way better than any place I'd ever been before. Plus, as an added bonus, I like that the makeup is all-natural :) Friendly people, a welcoming attitude, talented stylists and, on top of all that, a cool-vibe that isn't trying too hard - I couldn't have asked for more. It's very convenient for those in the Lakewood area but well worth a little drive if you're not. Stephanie is a 'new talent' at the salon but to me she is my new stylist! She's great, very reassuring, and personable. Plus, I truly respect those who take pride in their work and are always up for new challenges. I love how I was offered something to drink and wine was one of the options. No, not because I'm a lush (haha) but because the quality of service for the average consumer is very far-fetched these days. Biggest perk for me is the professionalism within the laid-back environment. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable but the entire time Karen was telling her trainee what the differences in cutting men's vs women's hair she sounded like she knew what she was doing. Yet she cut my hair exactly how she was trying to avoid a puffball of curly hair on top of my shoulders, she altered my hair cut from the photo I showed her way to short. But the staff and the whole experience was great and I'll give her one more chance to get it right! Just got back from getting my hair done here for the first time. Horrible experience! I wanted my hair dyed my natural color (medium dark brown) to cover my grays and to cover the reddish tint from my old dye. My hair was dyed BLACK (I am extremely pale so the black does not work on me) and on top of that they tried to charge me double from what they originally told me on the phone. I have longer hair and I understand the logic of it costing more but they should have made this point clear before performing the service. They made me feel dumb like I should have known the price. However, they did knock the price down some after I explained that I was told it would be much lower. Overall, I am very unhappy with my hair color and how they dealt with pricing. They need to figure out their pricing and be more clear with new customers over the phone. read more

I had a great experience at Willie & Coote Salon. Right before the Christmas holiday, I made an appointment with Kat at the salon. I'm a very picky person when it comes to color. I have naturally dark brown hair and always worry at a new place that my color might have an orange color instead of blonde. But that wasn't the case at all. Kat took great care of me. She listened to everything I said I wanted and did a perfect job. She did great on both my cut and color and I couldn't have been more happy. I've been going here for several months and I absolutely love it! Rebecca and Stephanie are amazing. They both do an excellent job with cuts and color. Their prices are more than reasonable. I highly recommend setting an appointment with any stylist. The vibe there is laid back, and not at all pretentious. I have very fine, long, and dark hair.
