I'd leave 0 stars if I could I Would NOT recommend Williamsburg Veterinary Clinic for anyone who truly cares about their pets needs. My cat went in on Wednesday ( mind you they only had one vet checking in on pets all week and saw a vet that wasn't hers Dr. DeWitt ) as she was throwing up blood. He sent her home that everything "was fine", his staff informed me he took a single radiograph, said she was just backed up, drained her poop and gave her a shot for nausea and sent her home. She seemed ok when I picked her up, just looked like she was sleepy. And sent me on my way with a $450 bill. Thursday morning, my cat still doesn't want to eat, but I now noticed she looks more sick and very limp. I rush her back to Williamsburg vet. They take her back and then say "She looks extremely sick, If I thought she was sick enough I would send her to the ER. But we aren't there yet. I will put her on IV, run a blood panel, give her a nausea shot and monitor her for the day. We will leave a needle wrapped on her paw bring her back tomorrow morning (Friday ) so we can give her more fluids in the morning". I pick her up at 5:30 they say she's good to make sure she doesn't throw up. And proceeded to send me on my way with a $400 bill. Friday morning, I take her in and she is drooling, still won't eat and is very lethargic. They say she's needs more fluids. I Google and find out about an appetite stimulant. I ask them about it and he says "yea that's a great option we can look into" my cat stays for the entire day. I pick her up and a $250 bill. My cat is drooling, and still very tired still. The dr informed me as long as she doesn't throw up over the weekend she will be fine even if she decides to not eat all weekend. That she has enough fluids in her to last until Monday. This afternoon, my cat falls over and stops breathing. I rush her to the ER, and come to find out my cat should have never been sent home in the first place and is and has been in critical condition! I'm extremely upset and have lost all faith and trust in Williamsburg Vet Clinic! My dog gets seen there and we will be switching immediately. Sorry for the long post. But when my pets are neglected due to possibly understaffing. It's hard to stay quiet, and my heart is completely shattered! read more

If I could give them more than 10 stars I would! My Sweet Allie May was severely misdiagnosed by a previous vet, and as her problems grew worst, They swooped in, no judgement, and helped me make the hardest decision I've ever had to make as a dog mom to make my 4 legged baby, now a 3 legged baby! They were so informative, BEYOND attentive, they loved my girl just as much as I do, and they kept me up to date through surgery, after surgery, they even checked in on us multiple times making sure all was well with Allie, and that she was healing great! We are very grateful for this clinic, and everyone who has been a light for Allie and I, and even our entire family! When I first came in I had a baby strapped to my chest, and two other children ( their dad was working, so mom was playing super mom) and they opened all of us with open arms, and made things just so seamless for us! I did not meet a single person who did not show us the absolute most compassion and love! I've never found a single place on earth where I had zero negetive things to say, but they went so above and beyond! read more

Fantastic veterinary practice in all ways. Yesterda we had an emergency visit to Williamsburg Clinic and they took us as soon as we arrived, as we had called at 7:30 am concerning one of our dogs. De DeWitt and Jessica took us as soon as we arrived, spoke with us, did tests, and explained in full what the diagnosis and treatment were. So relieved. We drive over an hour to have our two rescue beagles seen and treated by these expert vets and their incredibly competent staff, from intake, reception to the techs. We're from DC and are used to premier vet care. Look no more you will be so happy with this practice. read more

If I could give this place more than 5 stars I would. Honestly 10 out of 5. I have two pets who have recently decided they wanted to visit the vet (not fun or cheap). I've experienced and heard from others about insane wait times, weeks or even months, to get your pet in even when they are new to that vet. This is not the case here. For example, I called an hour before closing about an issue with my cat and they told me to drop her off the next day. This fits my schedule so well and I know she is in good hands. On multiple occasions I drop her off before work and pick her up after. I feel so confident that my pets will be seen quickly and are in good hands. If you are looking to change vets or for a new vet, this is your place!!! read more

A few years ago, this would be a five-star review. As WVC has grown and gotten unmanageably busy, their customer service, wait for appointments, and actually listening to their customers has gone south quickly. Today we closed our account with them after bringing our dog in for non-parasite-related itching, waiting 45 minutes in the car for someone to see us (after calling again to see if we should reschedule), the vet doing all of the talking/none of the listening, and prescribing/charging us $150 for a flea collar and 20 anti-itch pills we didn't need. Since it took so long to get the "first available" appointment, my son, 19, had to take the dog in while we were out of town. He was not advised of the cost of anything before being handed the bill. When I spoke to the young lady at the desk today about returning the meds and collar we don't need and won't use, she said she had to get someone 'higher than [her]' to talk to me. The vile, obnoxious, rude, condescending, combative-from-the-start...ummm..."person"..., REBECCA BRUEGGEMAN (and no, I don't care whether I spelled your name correctly), who called herself the "Hospital Manager" STARTED by telling me she is '...used to dealing with people like [me]', and to 'leave or [she] would 'escort [me] out'. WHO THREATENS PEOPLE LIKE THAT?? This was after she talked over me, not listening to a word, blamed my son for being sold products we don't need, and made a complete and utter ASS (I'm being nice here) of herself--a fine example for the other staff members. If this is who is running the clinic, REBECCA desperately needs a few dozen courses in human decency and manners. I feel sorry for anyone she is incompetent enough to "supervise", as I'm sure she makes them absolutely miserable. When I asked for REBECCA's boss, she replied quite snidely, "I AM THE BOSS!" (really?..). Clearly she is unable to distinguish customer service issues from personal fights (considering she came out swinging before even looking at me!) As I stated already, WVC has been getting away from good bedside manner for the past few years. As my mother would say, "It looks like they're gotten too big for their britches." Unfortunately for them, I will not hesitate to take my business and my pets elsewhere where the staff (yes, REBECCA, you are STAFF!) knows how to treat their customers and the vet doesn't practice production-line medicine. Revising my previous rating. These vets were so wonderful until COVID-19. They have become too busy and thier communication and support for pet owners has suffered. They have lost my business as a result and I cannot reccomend them.. They have been out of my dogs medication for several weeks. I brought my dog in to get a shot since they didn't have her allergy meds. While she was there, they ran tests and did an exam which they charged me for. She was only supposed to get a shot. No other services were authorized by me as I understand the root cause of my dogs discomfort are environmental allergies. They would not return my dog to my husband while the billing issue was being resolved and he missed his entire lunch. Mind you, I have spent thousands at this vet over the last several years yet they treated me like a neglectful dog owner while they held my dog hostage until we resolved the payment issue. It's a real shame. They were so kind to my last dog as he suffered with lymphoma. But they don't seem to have much respect for the humans who love the animals they treat. read more

Horrible staff! I made my dogs appointment over a month prior to been seen at this vet for the first time. The appointment date comes and I was advised they no longer had his appointment on their books and wouldn't be able to get him in. I requested to speak with someone in person vs over the phone. A lady comes out and I expressed my frustration with their screwup, stating they put me in a shitty situation because of it and scheduling things around this appointment. She advised I could sit in my car and they would try to fit me in. Sitting in my vehicle I was confront by a manager of some sort advising she wouldn't tolerate me "cursing" at her employees - saying a situation they caused is shitty is NOT cruising at an employee but in conversation. She then continue to go on and give me every excuse under the book as to why they are short staffed, no other clinics in our town are taking new pets except for one other place and maybe their clinic isn't the right place for me and my pet. NEVER taking ownership for their screwup. I will be finding another clinic for my pets next visit. read more

On paper the clinic appears to be a small mom and pop operation which in this day and age of super-stores is a breath of fresh air. However when I dug deeper into their new patient form, it scared the s*** out of me. The new patient form was a straight forward boiler plate that you can download off the Internet, however most boiler plates allow for modifications by the person signing and not a "click here" and you agree to. After speaking to two of the employees I was informed that they were part of a corporation and that it would take many layers of management to even look at my request to modify the following: "I request any and all treatment deemed necessary by the attending veterinarian and agree to pay all charges for services rendered at the time those services are rendered." The simple change that I suggested was rejected. My suggestion was that they are boilerplate contract read: I request any and all treatment deemed necessary by the attending etc. "and the pet owner understands and agrees to the up charges" etc. In other words, you bring your pet in for a check up and you give the clinic unfettered permission for the vet or staff to perform whatever procedures they deem necessary without your permission. Sorry guys my who gives carte blanche to any services without prior permission? My hope is that future and current clients of this clinic read the fine print before turning over their pet(s) or bring your platinum American Express card. read more

I received a letter along with my little dogs' medical records from Williamsburg Veterinary Clinic in my mailbox last week. In the letter the clinic stated that they would no longer treat my little dog because I gave their clinic a poor review rating on a survey they sent to my email account. Wow! They kicked out a 70 year old woman and her little dog because of a poor review I gave them on a survey they sent to my email? I scheduled an appointment because my old pet needed care, and I was very concerned for her health. I really wanted to be seen at another veterinarian but there scheduled lead time was even longer. They made me wait longer than I was comfortable with. When I spoke to the female on the phone, she wasn't rude but not attentive, helpful caring, or kind like the other animal hospital I had spoken to. I needed an appointment so I hoped for the best. I arrived for my appointment at the Williamsburg Veterinary Clinic and they made me wait over 30 minutes to be seen. Further, the Veterinarian was rough with my sweet old fir baby. Next, rhey offered to charge me over $400 seeing the vet and some labs, of which not all were necessary. This was before the charge for the medication. They didn't provide the results in a timely manner nor did the vet technician named Rebecca explain or go over the directions for the meds for my sweet baby. I had to come in on a different day to pick up the medication. I asked Rebecca, the vet tech, if I could speak to a veterinarianto go over rhe results and she said there weren't any vets working. Since when is a vet clinic open, but no vets are working? Rebecca, the vet tech, also calls herself a manager. She has no idea how to run a clinic nor the skills. Both the girl at the front desk and Rebecca need to acquire customer service skills. I do not recommend this vet clinic. A big disappointment, waste of money, and time trying to get the care my sweet fur baby needs. read more

Outstanding experiences at Williamsburg Veterinary! Drs Dewitt and Ortiz are exceptional as are the vet techs. We've adopted multiple special needs pets over the years with a myriad of issues. Always we've been provided with great wellness care as well as options in circumstances where issues out of the ordinary arise. Recently, our 23.5 year old cat passed away and the Drs and staff all came into say goodbye as they'd had a long term relationship with Max. It's that level of personalized care that is unique and what we value. read more

I just fell in love!!! I am relatively new to the area and have been putting off going to the vet because I was so scared of getting a bad one. Needless to say, I am sorry I waited so long. This vet is the vet of my dreams! They were so kind to my old lady and listened to what she needed and took the time to explain what could be done. I never write reviews unless I feel a place has really impressed me. I'm in town from Los Angeles staying with my family due to quarantine for a few months. I brought my two small terrier mix dogs with me. While I was here I wanted to have one of my dogs teeth cleaned. She ended up having a few loose teeth that had to be pulled and an abscess which I was so thankful that they caught. Not only were they so kind to me but also they took such great care of my pup. They called the next day to check in on her as well. I find that so important. I've now brought my other dog in for a general checkup since they were so great. I couldn't recommend any other vet. I felt very heard and felt that they both cared about my pups. Dr. Ortiz and Dr. DeWitt were so wonderful. I wish they were in LA. If you are looking for a great vets office I highly recommend them. read more

I absolutely love and trust this clinic. The staff has always been so friendly and kind to me and my pets. Last year I took my kitty here for an emergency treatment. They were so nice and loving towards my cat. Specifically Rebecca is someone that I've had to communicate over the phone with a lot recently and she is so easy to talk to and made me feel much better with my treatment plan for my cat. 10/10 would recommend this clinic to anyone read more

She asked questions to get to know me and my dog, and she walked me through everything I was doing and answered any questions I had. I recently moved to the area and am so glad I found this place -- the receptionists and techs were amazing over the phone setting up my appointment. I have a three year old chocolate labrador retriever who recently began having some type of either muscle soreness or pain in his hips. I feared the worst - hip dysplasia or something had broken while he was playing. They got me in the very next day and were friendly, professional and courteous. They took us right back into a room so he could calm down (always a hyper and excited boy!) and discussed all options and performed his exam, both the male vet and a female assistant. Bruce loved them both. Prices are more than reasonable. I paid 430$ for him to be sedated and x-rayed, all his yearly shots, Dusaquin soft chews for inflammation and to support joint health based on the findings, nail trim, anal expression, fecal centrifugation and heartworm testing plus medication, exam, and flea and tick. I would have spent twice this elsewhere! I felt confident when I left that we had made the right choice in taking Bruce there and in doing the x-rays and exam for hip score checking. I understood exactly what the plan was and Bruce's prognosis and felt 100% confident in their work. We'll be going back for sure! read more

I double checked the phone number I had called to make the appointment the week before and it was correct. I have 3 pets and was looking for a new vet. My dog and I are beyond blessed to have Dr. Chris in our lives. He made it immediately apparent by the care we receive that he is in this field not for monetary gains, but for his unconditional love of animals. He is the true epitome of a caring vet. There is no one I trust more in this world to take care of my loved one, and the amount of time and patience he provides to me both over the phone and in person is immense and so appreciated. He is happy to take additional time aside to explain my dog's conditions and methods of treatment, which really means a lot to me, as the person in charge of my dog's well-being. The quality of service we receive from Dr. Chris is very atypical of a professional, because he goes even further than above and beyond to gives us the best service and quality of care. Not only did Dr. Chris save Harvie's life, but he continues to provide advice and care for him on an almost weekly basis. He is a high-maintenance animal, but despite all of his complications and all of my outreaches to the office I have never felt a sense of impatience or frustration from Dr. Chris. The rest of his staff is an extension of his character and are the face of Devotion and Care! I cannot say in words how lucky we are to receive such genuine tender, loving care from his entire office! Take your pet to Wmsbg Vet Clinic, you cannot receive better care anywhere else!
