Of course we wouldn't be able to do the tour today as my child is ill. I reached out via email to the company. They informed me no refund would be given per their policy (even with sickness). I even inquired about a partial refund, being it was a last minute cancellation, although sickness is never planned. I let them know I can send them hospital records for proof and reference it was still a NO. They even had the nerve to inform me they can reschedule the tour to a later date for a $10 charge. Moving forward I will NEVER purchase anything from this company again. If you choose to please beware of their CANCELLATION POLICY, AND TRY NOT TO GET SICK .

However it was educational and interesting to see places I would have never otherwise been to. There are different routes, and the route we did included a meadery (honey and mead tasting), two rum/gin/whiskey stops and a brewery. I inquired about skipping one of the rum establishments and going to both breweries (other routes had this option), but I was told that people booked and were expecting the route with only one brewery. I told them I was in that group, but they never responded. Turns out the only other people (2) on the tour were asked to switch to the afternoon tour because no one else had booked the evening tour. (The evening tour was the route with two breweries). So there was no reason, with the justification provided, why would couldn't have done two breweries. The liquor tasting is not enjoyable, way too strong. The establishments, especially the Copper Fox Distillery was interesting and a wonderful tour of the grounds was provided. The downside with that place was when it came time for sampling we were told you could either sample the products or get a mixed drink. I chose mixed drink, because it is much easier to drink than straight liquor. But when it came time to pay (I bought more than the sample provided), I was told that wasn't part of the tour, it's either sample the straight liquor or nothing. So I felt mislead and had to pay an additional $9 that I was no expecting. The brewery we did stop at did not provide a tour, but they did provide a flight of four beers for each person on the tour. This was completely ok with the group as we were more interested in drinking than touring.

Regardless of whether you believe in the validity of Tim's Ghostography, the tour and stroll through Colonial Williamsburg keeps you engaged and captivated from beginning to end. I gave the tour a four out of five stars because I believe the tour could be tightened up and made more efficient from a tour-design perspective. The tour that started at 10pm went much longer than anticipated, and I could tell most in my group were exhausted by the tour's end. Tim is knowledgable and interesting, but could benefit from trimming and editing some of his content to make the tour more of a quality over quantity experience.

A great experience. We met Mike right on time and he walked each one of us through "how to ride,…read moreturn and stop". We felt confident heading out. He was in the lead and our helmets were equipped with microphones and ear pieces so we could communicate. It was a great hour going on a paved trail through marsh and meadow. All four of us are seniors and felt very safe.

The tour bus pulled up and the guide greeted everyone on board and let us know where we would be going and what we would be seeing. He also had handouts which identified the areas we would be seeing. During the tour the guide went into specifics of when significant events happened during the historical time periods. The tour was comfortable and had background music playing to accompany the guide. There were plenty of opportunities to stop for restroom breaks and we were also asked if anyone needed to stop. Overall the tour went by very quickly, did not seem like 3 hours had past. I would recommend this tour, should also mention that the guide was pointing out museums and restaurants to visit.

Life is slower when traveling by the Jamestown Scotland Ferry, and it's so much fun!…read more To go across the James River, you can fight traffic on I-64, or sit back and let the ferry captain do the driving. The ferry crosses the James River from either Jamestown or Scotland/Surry. The pleasant (about) 15-minute ride allows you to park your car on the ship and walk the decks to see seagulls or osprey flying by, water lapping the sides, and the oh so gorgeous view. The ferry has an upper viewing deck too, as well as restrooms. The ride is free and runs often at least twice an hour. Check their website for the schedule. Occasionally you may be randomly selected for a car check by security before boarding. This is done on the car with mirrors, but they check your trunk. It's pretty quick. Enjoy!

But drive onto the property and their are nice wooded lots with lots of piece and quiet. The gentleman that runs the office is very nice and can always be found on his tractor cutting grass.
